Avoid as can't be trusted to sort out any problems

SnVinyl by appearance, is a great site - amazing inventory, great prices, timely processing and well packaged products shipped reliably - and I was, until my last order, like many others here, a happy customer, more than willing to recommend this as the goto site for audiophile music.

That is until something goes wrong, which to be honest is the way you have to judge online sites.

If there are problems, instead of finding a supportive provider, willing and able to sort out your problems, you will be met (if you get any response at all from Alex or is it Scott) with broken promises, obstruction and, alas, downright lies…

If my personal experience was a one off, then I would put this down to experience, but judging by the feedback here, and on other sites, I am very much not alone.

Back in January I ordered what I thought was an in stock limited edition set of vinyl. As usual I had to pay in advance and the money was immediately taken from my credit card…

While this is questionable, I wasn’t worried as the site said it was in stock and my previous orders with the site had been fine.

Soon after I ordered it the site said it would now be 7 - 21 days - so I waited…

At the end of February I emailed SNVinyl and was promised that it would be shipped next week - it wasn’t.

At the beginning of April I emailed again and was assured it would be sent within the next two weeks - so I waited..

Three weeks later I emailed again to say either send the records immediately or refund me.

At the beginning of May, having received neither a reply nor my money back I felt I had no option but to kick off a section 75 claim with my card provider.

I have waited till now to publish this as SNVinyl put in a dispute with my cardholder which gave him/them 30 days to prove they had dispatched the order - which of course they couldn’t.

You have to be able to trust online suppliers, especially ones which take money in advance for products they say are in stock and when dealing with customer problems.

You expect them to learn from their mistakes and change their behaviours in response to so much negative feedback - but they haven't (or can't be bothered to which is even sadder)..

I will never use them again and I suggest you don’t - but if you must then, at the very least, I advice extreme caution when ordering from this site

⁃ Order only products that you have checked and got a clear email confirmation are actually in stock.
⁃ Don't trust the online stock status.
⁃ Pay only be Credit Card.
⁃ Check the order status regularly and if it doesn’t change after a couple of weeks ask for your money back immediately.
⁃ If you are buying any hardware from this site, check with the manufacturer that SNVinyl is an authorised dealer for that product as that will at least mean you have got someone else to complain too..

I have placed three separate orders in…

I have placed three separate orders in the last two weeks for some quite hard to find records. All items were delivered within a couple of days via DPD and in excellent secure packaging. Prices and communications were excellent. Looking forward to placing some more orders. Feels good to support an independent company.

I'm afraid all the negative reviews on here are correct. Items which are said to be "in stock" on the website are not in stock. There is no communication between Snvinyl and the customer either by phone or email. All my refunds were done via bank "charge back," otherwise there was no way I would get my money back from Snvinyl. Those who have given favourable reviews should consider themselves lucky! This is not the way to run a serious business.

This men scott nangle is a danger men. Absolutely unserious and a lawyer Person. Don’t buy anything. You will loose your money. Paypal has already cancelled payments with snvinyl
I ordered i payed he confirmed shipment and i never received merchandise.

So i ordered two styli from this place…

So i ordered two styli from this place and never having dealt with online invoices via email to pay which came a day later i assumed the website was broken as it never even alluded to sending an invoice it just said order complete and i didn't pay so i moved on and bought them from another website. Invoice came and i asked to cancel and he said it was cancelled but enjoy my fake styli from the other company basically as he said they'd not come in original JICO boxes, they did. I then proceeded to order 2 from him as i had some money and understood now how it worked for payment. Got an email instead of an onvoice to pay that said "no payment - no goods" told him to F off. Guy thinks hes smart and edgy and need an attitude readjusting. Don't deal with him as i see nothing but problems if you have to deal with an issue.

2nd purchase - good experience

I made another purchase after having had such a good experience the first time. This was for a much harder to find vinyl, and it took about 6 weeks to be sent to me, without a huge amount of communication about when to expect delivery. But all I had to do was ask and I got a prompt and helpful reply. The record finally arrived exactly as I'd hoped - I'm really grateful for the snvinyl team making it possible for me to have this beauty in my hands.

Beware! Do not trade with this company.

I placed an order with snvinyl which I did receive damaged. I sent this back recorded delivery and have been battling with the company to get a replacement ever since. Cryptic responses to my emails and stupidly placed another order and paid for it over three weeks ago and still awaiting delivery. Scott Nagle seems to be incapable of running a business and should stop trading. I will not be delaing with snvinyl any more and will report to my bank.

BEWARE! Don't buy from snvinyl.co.uk

Sadly, I placed a new order on January 2021. The item was shipped via DPD to Europe. The parcel was returned back to UK. Scott confirmed having received it in UK on March. As a goodwill gesture of my part, I added a new item and Scott said «I will re-ship with another carrier». I never got a new tracking number, not even the name of the courier. I've just received cryptic responses in three words, showing no intention to solve the problem. No feedback in weeks from Scott, no answer after request of the order cancellation or to transfer the money back!
For those who defend Scott, it seems simply a matter of time to have a bad experience.

Not a good experience.

A frustrating experience which ran from 14/02/21 to 22/05/21. Some items arrived, some didn't. Comms were poor with responses to my emails not addressing issues raised. It was as if a response would be sent without having read the initial email. I made several requests for refunds which were unsuccessful.

Matter finally resolved when I wrote to Scott advising that I would be lodging a "Simple Procedure Claim" at the Lanark Sheriff Court on the 21st of May to recover the monies outstanding and would also be applying for the costs of having to bring the action. Only then was Scott able to "find" and refund the invoice numbers which I had been sending him for the past weeks.

Overall, some items were received, and the ones which weren't were fully refunded, but only after a long and frustrating exchange.

I won't be dealing with SNVinyl again.

And the saga continues. No response from Scott, no solution, no getting the product I purchased and no money back. In other words, he is an embezzler. It takes people's money and doesn't deliver the product. It's been 2 years since he stole my money. BEWARE, the store is a scam.

I ordered a Jelco headshell from…

I ordered a Jelco headshell from SNVINYL.CO.UK on 24.05.21. I paid for recorded delivery. The item was stated to be in stock. After a month of emails to Scott Nangle (most of which were either unanswered or answered in terse, cryptic phrases), I cancelled the order for non-delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulation and asked for a refund to my credit card within 5 working days. No response and no refund 7 days later. I filed a claim with my credit card issuer, who issued a refund within 3 days.
Moral: save yourself the time, effort and frustration of dealing with this retailer and avoid him like a shower of Coronavirus. I wish I had seen other reviews of this incompetent (at best) business before I placed my order. I assume he has a big, red nose, baggy stripey trousers and wears size 28 shoes.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. Had to return a record as this guy uses Hermes to deliver and the package was damaged. He denied receiving the return despite his signature being on it and being confirmed as delivered. I’ve ordered about 6 items so far and had issues with 4 of them. I get the feeling he is being difficult as other reviews here suggest.

I ordered an LP back in June 2020 and still nothing received. Moreover there is no response to my reminders. I tried the email and then sent messages through the site. Also, y secretary tried to contact them. Unfortunately, there is no further action and the prepaid account has most probably lost

A retail experience from the depths of Hades

I've bought mylar sleeves from Scott on several occasions. The first few times the transactions were fine. But my most recent purchase was a disaster.

He kept telling me the package was sent or being sent. Only for it to not arrive over a week later. And when I asked for a tracking number, he told me it'd be sent in another email. Which, of course, also never arrived. It went on like this for weeks.

Other email responses to my queries were very opaque and I got the sense he was almost certainly doing this on purpose. It was as though he was deliberately misunderstanding me, so he could string me along for a few more days.

Scott really needs to be fully transparent and honest with his customers. I'm sure people would be understanding re: delays. After all, we all realise that we're ordering fairly niche products. And that there's pandemic on that's bound to affect supply chains and postage timings.

He also needs to hire someone to handle company communications. Right now, it's the single most off-putting thing about the company.

In the end, I got a full refund from him after threatening to contact trading standards. But it's not worth the aggro to order from Scott these days.

I wanted to upgrade my dad's turntable while I was staying with my parents.

So I bought from Snvinyl. Bad mistake.

Despite me requesting a delivery address, and checking with them a number of times, they sent the needle to the billing address - where I wasn't, and won't be for a while.

I then checked and checked by email- they insisted it was going to the correct place.

It didn't turn up. It was delivered to the billing address.

Their emails are obtuse, their billing and payment system prehistoric, their customer service is nil. Avoid avoid avoid.

NEVER AGAIN!!!

I ordered a Stevie Ray Vaughan Vinyl on August 3rd, 2020. On November 18th, 2020 I asked for ... On January 9th, 2021 again ... Scott only said that the album had already been sent - I never got a tracking id! in the meantime i got another album i had ordered - stevie ray vaughan lp hasn't arrived until today. NO feedback from scott, NO idea from him to make up for the damage or to transfer the money back! NEVER AGAIN! ... and that is also the opinion of many of my vinyl friends in europe. stay away!!!

I believe Scott deserves respect.
I have never written to him in an insulting or disrespectful way, even when an order was delayed. Every order I’ve placed has eventually been fulfilled.
Considering the prices — which I genuinely think are the best on the market — this is a rare opportunity for us buyers to get the albums we love at a fair cost.

I once waited three months for the Keith Jarrett Sun Bear Concerts 10LP reissue.
If we treat Scott with the respect he deserves, I believe he will always return the favour.

The records are packed securely in thick cardboard boxes, and none of them has ever arrived damaged.
