Sola Renewable Company Avis 

After researching the market and lots of technical details for our house here in North London, we talked to three local installers and decided to go with a battery-only installation ready for PV later. Sola was the one that did the most detailed inspection prior to the quote, and the only one to recommend Sigenergy, which in our case seemed the most suitable. The three-man installation took less than four hours despite having to navigate some tricky aspects of the cable run through to the consumer unit under the stairs. The team were efficient, cheerful, made good after they had to lift away a skirting boards, and left no mess behind.

Very professional work, Told us when the scaffolding was being put up and taken down. The scaffolding team were amazing.
Panels, Battery and EV charger put in one day. Despite my bricks blunting their drill bits they were a happy polite team, professional and neat.
Ryan explained how to operate our new systems and apps.
Would definitely recommend Ryan and Sola.

Sola is a fantastic company!
Ryan has been working so hard for us for the past few months. We only inquired about batteries but ended up having solar panels as well. We were so impressed with them that we asked them if they could use us for being their test set up for an air source heat pump! We loved dealing with Ryan, he often burned the midnight oil by working in the middle of the night as we could see emails being sent in “horrible” hours.
His commitment to client satisfaction is unquestionable.
Today we had a visit from him, needless to say he was very deflated. Our system is from GivEnergy.
We were completely oblivious of the situation that GivEnergy went into administration.
Ryan assured us that he would do his outmost to still look after us.
Big companies like GivEnergy stop trading and throw little ones like Sola under the bus. It is understandably a very troubling time for Sola, but Ryan was firstly preoccupied by his customers.
So please do not take notice of that guy that has rated this company one star! He obviously is very frustrated with GivEnergy but should disassociate Sola from them.
After all Sola is our only point of call when something goes wrong as GivEnergy won’t pick up the phone!
Now is the time to stand by Sola not bury them. But I am afraid to give a one star review is SO shortsighted!

Effectively I wish there was more companies like Sola

Sola Renewables is one of the best companies I have worked with. Ryan has been absolutely excellent throughout.

I had a GivEnergy All-in-One system installed two years ago, and then added a battery last year. Most recently, I added another battery just two weeks ago—shortly before GivEnergy went into administration, which was quite concerning.

Despite this, Ryan has continued to support me whenever needed. I had a Wi-Fi issue recently, and he came and sorted it quickly.

He also went the extra mile by hardwiring the entire system so we don’t have to rely on the unreliable GivEnergy Wi-Fi dongle. He even installed a TP-Link extender and spent the whole day ensuring everything was set up perfectly.

Ryan is a true star, and I will gladly recommend Sola Renewables to anyone.

I am extremely disappointed with the overall experience and after-sales service from this company.

Initially, everything seemed promising — I had a GivEnergy solar system installed along with an EV charger, and was also sold a product called “Rowan Miner” as part of the package. I was told this would generate an additional income of 10p per kW of energy produced. However, within just 3 months, this product stopped working entirely, and to make matters worse, the company behind it has since gone bankrupt. This has effectively left me out of pocket by nearly £1000.

The issues didn’t stop there. The EV charger they installed has never worked from day one. After reporting the issue, someone eventually came out to inspect it and confirmed that it needed replacing. That was over two weeks ago, and since then I’ve heard nothing — no updates, no follow-up, no resolution.

I’ve been told that the replacement unit is pending as the GivEnergy product is manufactured in China and they are waiting for stock, but the lack of communication and urgency is unacceptable.

Overall, the installation may have been completed, but the after-sales support has been extremely poor. I feel let down and regret choosing this company. I would not recommend them based on my experience.

Ryan and the company were very professional and knowledgeable. We had a solar battery added to our existing PV solar panel system and EV charger installed.
They worked hard and were neat and tidy, took time to explain everything and never pushed to make a decision before we were ready.
Would highly recommend this company.

We had Sola fit GivEnergy backup batteries in October 2025. The whole process from initial assessment by David Hayman to completion was seamless. Everything was explained very well and time was taken to ensure that anything not understood was understood. No outrageous promises were made and now we have 4 months experience, it is performing as expected. No hiccups - no glitches. Ryan is extremely capable and trustworthy and his 2 installers were excellent. The work was done in one day and the area was left cleaner than when they arrived! I would thoroughly recommend Ryan and Sola.

Ryan is very friendly and professional. Prior to installation, all questions were answered and I never felt pushed or hurried into anything.

The crew that worked with him were quick, neat and tidy.

The process (additional battery to an existing PV/battery install) took under 8 hours, but that included Ryan having to drive off to acquire a component that wasn't in the kit supplied by the manufacturer and at least 2 hours for the actual upgrade and commissioning of the twin batteries.

Showed the key components of the new install, including shut down and start up procedures, should they be needed.

All in all, very satisfied with the outcome.

I am so pleased that we found Sola Renewable Company. Ryan and his team were a breath of fresh air. From Ryan's first visit with a drone survey and then answering all my questions clearly and expertly, I knew we were in safe hands. The installation took just one day with scaffolding going up quickly the day before and then taken down again a few days later. Ryan helped set us up on the GivEnergy app so we can view the performance of the solar panels. Overall, an excellent experience and very competitive value for money. We would highly recommend Sola Renewable Company.

I cannot fault Sola-UK, and Ryan was brilliant throughout. I took months for various reasons to decide on going with Sola-UK but Ryan was only patient, helpful, informative and responded quickly at all times. And his final quote was excellent. So when the big day installation arrived, everything went smoothly, thanks to all the prep that Ryan and his team had organised with me, including clear communications as to what his team would do and what I needed to do. And the aftercare was also good. There was only one small, minor glitch with the related app, which seemingly is the app provider's fault, not Ryan's. And even then, the app otherwise works fine, as indeed does the entire system, which I am really pleased with.

We had several other companies quote for our solar panels, but none gave the completely honest and in depth advice that Ryan did (some didn't even visit the house). From the first visit to the final sign off, Ryan was professional, quick to respond, and super helpful. His install team were quick, neat and tidy and polite. Highly recommended.

From first contact through my endless questions to agreeing to the work, to installation and all the required certificates - all have been 100%, top-notch. The installation was quick, clean and efficient. The cables were properly laid out and affixed. The boxes are square and true. It looks good. Throughout, there was an ongoing attention to detail. AND they cleaned up and took all the packaging and the detritus created in the installation. Everyone was friendly, approachable, and professional. They are a great team, with a great product, and with a great installation. Already I am enjoying the fruits of solar generation... even a day or two without need of the grid - the battery is an essential part. I can wholeheartedly recommend Sola Renewables to anyone looking to have a solar system in their home.

He quoted a range of options, including different numbers of panels and battery sizes, and explained additional features that could be fitted, such as a solar immersion controller and EV charger, without any pressure or hard sell.
