Solargain Ltd Avis

I had 16 solar panels, inverter, 5.12Kw battery and Solar iBoost fitted by Solar Gain in October.

Having initially sought a quote from Octopus (as my current energy supplier) I elected to go with Solar Gain as they were a local family business with good reviews and unlike many companies promoting solar online, provided a personal rather than an online service, were not at all pushy, responded and installed within a very short time frame. Their fixed quote was also competitive and they alerted me, post quotation, to an offer that GivEnergy were running which meant that with the saving this provided I was able to add the Solar iBoost for the same price as my original quote.

From the initial visit from Phil to discuss needs and carry out an initial survey, the detailed survey by Colin, the prompt handling of all the admin and documentation by Vanessa I was very impressed by the service they provided.

Our installation took place earlier than originally planned and despite a small inconvenience that related to the scaffolding company, the installation was completed in a day. The team were worked really hard, on what was a miserable day weatherwise.
The Battery and Inverter was an external set up and the work was done to a very hight standard and the hardware looks really good.

Colin then fitted the iBoost and commissioned the whole set up the following day; and I was up and running. The system has been running smoothly ever since.

Not had the best performance the last week or so but that is down to the miserable weather we have had so is not Solar Gain's fault!

I would very happily recommend Solar Gain to anyone considering fitting solar.

Solar Gain are an exceptional company who provided my solar panel and battery storage system. Every member of the team are professional, honest and courteous. Well done to Phil and Vannessa who continually strive to provide a 5 star service.

We had three quotes for the solar panel installation. Phil’s was the most comprehensive and detailed, and his design seemed the most appropriate for our house. He made a site visit, unlike some companies who quote based on a satellite image, and the level of detail in the calculation of the expected performance of the system was most impressive. The work was carried out to a high standard and we are still very pleased with it.

We chose solargain after having a few quotes, but they paid more interest in our needs and talked to us face to face.
Our panels, inverter and battery were fitted back in the summer, without any problems, also the follow up was a great help to us. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them if you are considering solar.

I had a number of aims from the system Solar-gain installed in February 2024:
1)To be using 100% off peak or solar for at least 3/4 of the year by using an intelligent tariff.
2) For the Car charger, 9.7kWh battery inverter and solar panels to be integrated into one system and app.
3) For the system to take over during our frequent grid power outages.

I'm pleased to say that the system has vastly exceeded my expectations. Our electricity account has been in credit since April despite 5000 miles on the EV and we have used hardly any peak rate power,
reducing our outgoings and saving several tonnes of CO2.

Solar-Gain installed my solar system in April 2024. I was very impressed with the face-to-face consultations & preparation & planning that went into the quotation & subsequent specification. The necessary complex paperwork that accompanied each stage was well presented & organised so that all I had to do was sign, all done on-line. The system works extremely well & has saved me several hundred pounds already & resulted in vastly lowered monthly charges. The customer service is second to none & every query I have had, has been resolved very quickly. This has given me confidence in the integrity of the system & its customer service & quality control. I also highly recommend the company for the quality of the solar system components chosen to maximise my domestic solar gain!

Consultation, quotation and the approach to problem solving was smooth and not pressured. Installation happened when agreed, and within the timescales agreed - that's an area that often slips. There were delays on the removal of scaffolding, but that sat with a third party contractor and Solar Gain did their best to support 'encouraging' that contractor to respond faster. The more important point for me was 'what happened when something broke', because its life and things do go wrong. In our case a battery component failed after a while. I think that's where Solar Gain really acquitted themselves well, the response was swift, effective and supportive. The part was tested, found to be faulty and the supplier liaised with to secure a new part, which was also fitted without fuss. I've had good initial service before, then pain later on when issues occur - that was not the case with Solar Gain, so I would recommend them on quote, and fit, but even more so on customer aftercare

Really happy with our solar installation, just right for our needs. Chose solar gain as Phil was very knowledgeable. There were a few issues with equipment but happy to say these were sorted out quickly and efficiently

After having 5 quotes from different companies 3 of these from people sat in offices miles away from where i live i contacted solar gain who are basically 10 miles from where i live. Phil popped out and went through with me on the set up that i required. there was no pressure selling or money off the figure he came back with so no messing about. i excepted the offer and all the work was completed to a high standard . further still i have phoned Phil regarding questions and he has answered and explained very well. No doubt i will have more questions to ask in the future and will not hesitate to contact him as Phil said phone anytime . I can fully recommend Phil and the solar gain team. Many thanks John Pepper West Newton Somerset

From the initial contact, quote and delivery, it was a delight dealing with Phil and Vanessa and the team at SolarGain. Communication was exceptional, as was the fitting of our 14 JA panels, GivEnergy Inverter and 9.5kWh battery. We would thoroughly recommend SolarGain to anyone taking the leap to Solar Energy.

Great company - provided a PV system start to finish with no issues whatsoever. Thanks again.

Phil and his team have been excellent from start to finish. Great system, sensible price and spot on back up when needed.

Fault occurred on my panel which was delt with very swiftly by 'Mike' over the phone, quick and easy. 100%

very impressed
ive had 6-7 people come out to price up my solar and battery, all to be told slightly different things eg how many panels I can have and one saying its pointless to have them on both sides of the roof (east and west).
some did have the sales push feel I must say

phill come out and asked what my plans, what did I already know and usage. he was definitely on the same way of thinking as me just knew a whole lot more.

always happy to help answering my questions by email and text which was very nice nothing felt like it was to much trouble never felt like I wasn't in control or being pushed into more, to be honest was looking at a few extras add ones to be told yeah we can do that but look at it this way.

very happy with the system so far and the quality. would I use again yes and I would and have recommend them to friends that have booked in appointments.

Phil and the team at Solar Gain have been absolutely brilliant from start to finish. We had four quotes from various companies and we chose solar gain due to there zero pressure sales, technical knowledge, competitive price and thorough quotation. With the added reassurance of the government backed quality scheme and installation insurance cover it was another feel good factor. The tradesmen were top notch and done in 2.5 days and it’s been running perfectly since. Solar Gain pride themselves on their aftercare and service and rightly so. The team are always at the end of the phone to help at all times. Many Thanks SG, hope to reap the rewards this summer.

Excellent service from start to finish including communications. A no nonsense approach with an itemised quote. I’m sure that any post fit questions will be speedily dealt with. Thank you!

Excellant service. Arrived on time & the work was completed swiftly. After service so far, really helpful.

What a great team and nothing was too much trouble. From the consultation with the salesperson to the installation. everyone was so nice and completely professional. I knew immediately I didn't need to shop around as first impressions count and with this company what you see is what you get...total quality and honesty. Thank you so much for what you did to our home. Sue & Phil.

We had solar-gain install our panels and batteries after lots of research. We found the salesperson Craig really knowledgeable, and the quotation with facts and figures was so well presented. No pressure whatsoever, and the project management and installation went as planned and expected. The whole installation was carried out with total professionalism and looks amazing.
We installed solar with batteries to future proof our home for retirement, money in the bank doing nothing or start now to get our solar journey and return on investment started, so then are energy will be more affordable and the savings will be ours.
I cannot thank Craig and the whole team at Solar-Gain enough. Five stars and a big thank you from myself and Mrs T.
