BUYER BEWARE: COMPLETE FRAUD!

Ashlee purports to be a TICA-certified Sphynx breeder, but after having bought a kitten from her, here's what we've learned:

1) TICA has an incredibly low barrier to get certified and does not do any follow-ups. Ashlee does NOT get her kittens tested, nor their parents. We have found multiple other buyers that have bought kittens from her that are riddled with diseases and even 1 that passed away after only 1 year

2) Ashlee keeps her kittens in a small shed in her backyard along with oodles of other animals including dogs. Our kitten came to us with an upper respiratory infection, 50% underweight and corneal ulcers.

3) Ashlee charges WAY more than other breeders--and for baseless reasons: she has no odd eyes, and there is basically NO waitlist as she is a kitty mill.

4) DO NOT trust her flight nanny (Gonzalo), he is also horrible to work with. He only flies standby and we ended up having to buy him a flight because he was going to stay 2 nights in random airports because he kept missing the standby flights. Ashlee assumed no responsibility for this mess.

5) We discovered from her vet that Ashlee provides the most minimal care and her animals are consistently full of disease. The documents Ashlee ended up providing us were falsified -- we found out from other buyers that they received the exact same documents 2 years ago!

The Sphynx kitten we purchased from Ashley was 50% underweight and had corneal ulcers, skin rashes, an upper respiratory infection, and a distended belly.

She was delivered with no testing for important diseases or genetic traits. She was not given a proper veterinary examination. I found out who the original vet was (Ashley would not disclose) and called. They indicated Ashley's animals are always like this (she also breeds dogs).

Ashley has complaints against her with Humboldt County Animal Control for unethical breeding practices and in our opinion deserves them.

Ashley's business associate / flight nanny flies standby and had our 8 week old kitten in transit for over 15 hours. We ended up having to buy him a confirmed ticket so that he didn't take her to a different city and spend another night in a hotel against her. We knew none of this at the outset. Ashley was entirely disinterested throughout the transport process. She also transferred the kittens to the flight nanny in a parking lot, which is not legal in the state of California and is dangerous to the kittens.

To top it off, her prices are off-market and she uses aggressive tactics to over-inflate the rarity of what she has to offer.

This "breeder" had us put a $500 deposit on a Bambino kitten. She "Ashlee Smith" said the kitten would be ready May 29th and that I needed to pay the deposit immediately that day. I wired the $500 to her account. She sent a picture of a litter and a week later a foggy video of the litter. She promised to send a picture of the kitten we put a deposit on but never did. Three weeks after sending a deposit, she sent me a text saying,"I checked on the babies this morning and yours didnt make it mom squished him. I have another litter due in less than a month its been a hard day." I replied that it was heartbreaking to hear but that we didnt want to wait for the next litter, to please refund our deposit. She said no. She would only transfer it to the next litter. Basically too bad. This lady went on in text saying go ahead and take her to court, its too long of a a process. She said go ahead and call the police, they have better things to do. This lady will steal your money! DO NOT GIVE HER YOUR MONEY!!
