Standby Education is Derby's local and independent education recruitment agency, placing supply teachers, teaching assistants and support staff in Primary, Secondary and SEND schools across Derby and Derbyshire. We're not a national chain. We're a small, Derby-based team — Jo and Matt — with deep roots in the local education community. We work with a manageable number of schools and candidates so we can do things properly, not just quickly. What makes us different? We're honest. We brief our candidates thoroughly before every placement. We turn down schools that don't treat supply staff well. We match on suitability, not just availability. And when you call us, you speak to a real person who knows your name. Excellent teaching agency

I have had a fantastic experience with Standby Education. Matt and the team are friendly, supportive, and attentive. They take the time to get to know you and are excellent at matching you with roles that suit your skills and preferences.
