Nick worked with my son for a few months before his GCSE English resit which he has passed! The aim was to give him a confidence boost and it definitely worked. Nicks approach was professional, calm and friendly, slowly reducing the support he gave until he was able to answer questions completely independently. Feedback and communication with me about the sessions was also good. Would definitely recommend Nick!

Nick has worked with my son for nearly two years. During Covid his schooling had been impacted and he had missed some vital learning. Nick helped him to feel confident and to close many of the gaps and barriers to his learning.
It’s hard to get a child excited about a subject they don’t feel confident in but Nick has been extremely patient and reflective in the way he has shaped and delivered the sessions to support confidence building.

I was one of Nicks students for years and I've always hated English and all the exams and stuff. After working with Nick English didn't seem so bad and my GCSE English papers felt like a breeze for the first time, I think it was Nick that helped me to get a lot better at English. Nick is a great guy and makes English seem kinda fun.

We are from Northern Ireland and I was looking for a tutor to help my daughter who was struggling to understand how to approach her GCSE studies in English Language and English literature. Nick was fantastic from the start he thoroughly researched the NI curriculum and put my daughter at ease, he was flexible and often changed times and dates at our request at short notice. My daughter chose the topics to be taught in line what she was being taught in school. My daughter now has a far better understanding of both subjects and how to approach the exam questions evidenced by fantastic results in summer exams when compared to Christmas exams. My son Tom was struggling to know where to begin with his GCSE revision. He needed a good guiding hand and someone who could help him focus, but also give him the encouragement and confidence he was lacking from school.
As soon as we met Nick on the free introductory session, I knew Tom would respond to him.
Nick obviously knows his stuff and the fact that he still teaches is a huge bonus.
But alongside that, Nick is kind, positive and encouraging.
Tom has got so much more confidence going into his exams and he has responded so well to Nick's teaching style. He praises when deserved and guides and questions when Tom needs to stop and focus and think about what is being asked from him in a question.
Lessons have been planned ahead and Nick has been easy to communicate with.
Tom has his last exam to do and our time with Nick is coming to an end, but I know this was the best thing I could have done to help Tom and that he has thoroughly enjoyed every lesson!
I will always be grateful to Nick and I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.

Had a lovely experience with Nick. Booked in earlier this year for regular lessons. Dates were confirmed initially and a plan was set. He kept me in the loop of all the progress made by my daughter and was on hand whenever we needed it.

Nick even offered Mock exams and marked them to help indicate progress.

Nick is a wonderful , heart warming and excellent person. Who is always fixed on helping you personally to fit your schedule and maximizing your potential on passing your exams . Nick has an astounding ability to explain the problems you may have of understanding. Me myself has been experiencing this and in my opinion Nick is the most worthwhile and helpful tutor - helping me drastically increase my grades from 3 to a 7.

Great tutor and we are very pleased that he is teaching our year 7 son. He is covering very well the areas of writing and creates a solid foundation for the GCSE exams in the future. He is very well prepared for the lesson and is very well responding and offers excellent communication prior and after the lesson. I sent him also what they cover at school and exams and he uses that to work alongside the school.

Nick has been invaluable as a tutor to us & our foster children. Nick tutored our children with patience, enthusiasm & determination. It can be quite overwhelming for children who struggle academically but Nick was just fantastic with them, he never let them give up on themselves! He went above & beyond working with our children so that they had the best chance at their exams.
