I have been scammed in ebay i lost my xbox and I didn’t get my money, very poor customer service helpless team they protect buyer and they don’t give sh….t to seller.
Bad experience i will not recommend ebay to anyone even my enemy……

Ebay! I'm angry and fed up with lack of support when things go wrong

I can't even express how bad their platform is when it comes to dodgy sellers!! Yet again I am going through a bad experience in trying to get my money back from a scam seller on Ebay. The seller actually message to say he wasn't sending the item and do I want a refund so there is no doubt that the item isn't turning up. I say scam because clearly the item was listed so cheaply to attract a mug like me, then the seller says there is a problem with it and because everyone knows how long it takes to get your money back if the seller doesn't refund it the seller would have asked me to email my bank details for them to transfer the money directly into my account now having ALL of my details. That's the scam! They didn't get that far because I basically let them know that I know. I then call Ebay for help who tell me unless the seller cancels and refunds I'm going to have to wait 9 days for the delivery day to pass despite the fact that (it's not going to being posted!!) then open a case which, having experience I know this can takes up to 3 weeks in total to get my money back. In the past I've had fake Converse trainers sent which I returned and had to wait 2 weeks to get my money back. That seller stills sells the fake trainers on Ebay. Then Ebay goes on about buyer protection and how we are all protected! We are not. We have to protect ourselves by being savvy to all of this. I've had to do all of the chasing to get my money back.
I've used Ebay for years and have shrugged my shoulders and brushed myself off because it sells cheap stuff and what other site does but I'm growing tired of the failings of it when things go wrong. I was amazed to find Amazon are so quick with deliveries over the covid months and now spend more time on there. So far I haven't had the same issues but then nothing has gone wrong as yet. Only time will tell with Amazon

Utterly hopeless for sellers

Utterly hopeless for sellers. EBay allow you to get scamed right left and centre. 3 out of my last 5 sales have been refunded to buyer with them able to keep the product. I don't even get my postage back. Customer service is a joke. Read from a sheet and have no commen sense. Hay EBay, after 19 years as an occasional private seller with 500 feedback at 100%....I'm gone. Facebook now offers a much better option. Been using FB 6 months now and all good.

Impossible to complain to eBay about eBay Having spent an inordinate amount of…

Having spent an inordinate amount of time speaking to and texting eBay assistants with no positive outcome I thought I would make a formal complaint. It has proved impossible to do. The assistant gave me an email address customerhelp_uk@eBay. .com. I emailed my concerns to this address and had a reply stating that this email address cannot be used for contacting eBay customer support. What a dreadful company eBay have become. I will be looking for an alternative.

Ebay are not to be trusted with your money

Absolutely unbelievable service from ebay. Purchased and paid for an item from Piercehouse (equally untrustworthy and lacking in integrity). The cost was £27.70 although the item was only £9.60. The balance was p&p. I was then informed by Piercehouse that the order had been cancelled due to my non payment! When I asked what was going on they said ebay had informed them that I hadn't paid. Ebay told me this was untrue so I contacted the seller again and had £9.60 refunded. I complained again and spoke with an ebay advisor who seemed sympathetic and said it would be escalated. I then received an email stating that I would not be refunded without giving a reason. The seller says ebay found in their favour. No integrity at all. Ebay cannot be trusted with our money.

Selling fees are ridiculous

Sold and item for £200 seller fees cost £33 then shipping fee £35. Won’t use eBay again cost is ridiculous. 3 days and I’m still waiting for the money to be released from eBay.

New payment system for sellers ? W t f ! I want my money right now ! All sold 8may, now is 11may and still no money ! What a crap. Seller fees from years are stupidly high, also fees from total price, incl postage ? If I sell something for 99p + £4 postage, after sale fees and insertion fees make me loosing money. eBay is killing itself. I give them maybe 2 years and they disappear. I stop buying on eBay long time ago, just selling. Now I go to Amazon, shpock, etc for selling stuff. No more eBay! My advice, sellers, find another place, this one is finished.

DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING so called Customer Service. Seriously the staff just need a job and happy to lie (so not always saying its their fault) but the management or so called management team 🤔 laughable they have no idea what their doing or how to manage anything. I have been with eBay for over 15 years an in the beginning I would say extremely good and very caring towards their users and customers but seriously over the last 8 years it has gone from bad to worse to nowadays SHAMBOLIC.
The staff on the phones just don't seem to care and when the core of a companies body dont care they learn it from somewhere and its usually the management. Managements nowadays have no idea of customer care and service and how to treat their customers let alone their own staff. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone bring out a new site similar to ebay with one main difference a customer service with a thoughtful & caring attitude towards its users and that EXCELS IN GREATNESS as at present EBAY certainly does not have the customer service attitude that its users deserve.
Dont forget ebay YOUR customers and users made you and they can DESTROY you just as easy.

I’ve used eBay for going on 8+ years never had a major issue with them if my item never arrived ebay sorted it and I got my refund it’s an annoyingly long wait just it does happen this has only happened a handful of times all the other times have been seemlessly amazing

Don't upgrade to eBay bank

Absolutely rubbish company. So I decided to try the nex eBay bank thing and wow what a load of rubbish. I sold something that is pick up only. Now the buyer has paid by bank. What am I suppose to do with that? Wait 3 days for payment because of stoopid eBay.

I'm gonna try and revert it back to paypal now. I don't like waiting 3 days for my money.

I bought a printer for £ 64.77 at Ebay-ricwills and the equipment was not ready for immediate use. I paid an additional £ 17.60 postage fee to return it on March 5th, 2021, to the supplier with his consent, and so far no refund has been returned to me. In other words, I lost the total amount of £ 82.37, which I consider to be a swindle. So, stay away from this kind of vendor.

Not that they give a stuff but eBay is now just a marketplace for rip-off and knock-off merchandise. Ebay are absolutely useless at managing any complaints whatsoever.

Helped UPS and a buyer steal my speakers 300-500£ then refused to help.

I sold a set of speakers on ebay apparently they arrived damaged, ebay agreed I would give her a 50% refund and she would post them back. Either the buyer or UPS trashed the speakers before they reached me in Grove Park, Harrogate. So I sent them back to UPS to get the cash back. UPS then stole the speakers (£300-£500 speakers) and gave them back to the buyer who had already been refunded!! I called ebay as they where the people who advised me to send them back to UPS and surprise surprise not their problem even though all I had done is followed their advice to the letter. I'm so done with ebay after this. They literally helped steal my goods by telling me to send it back to UPS. UPS couldn't even talk to me as the buyer had 'paid for postage' even though the item wasn't hers!! Ebay refused to help. Would advise using any other service.

This new system is the final nail in the coffin. Been with eBay for 11 years, but the time to receive payment is too long, the fees WAY to high and frankly not keen on car boot junk being looked at as an income! Looking for an alternative now.

BE AWARE SELLERS. Ebay now won't release payment until you post the item you sold .but I sold something 3 weeks ago and posted item the day after I sold it .to get in touch with customer service, forget it .I've been with ebay for 20 years and now I will shut my account down

Stop using ebay

I have been an eBay user for over 15 years and hav spent 1000’s with them or through them. As of today I will no longer be using. There is absolutely no buyer protection. I recently bought some garden clocks from eBay. They did not arrive so I complained. They supplied me with a Hermes tracker number which stated they had delivered. They had not delivered to me for certain. I complained again, and was ignored several more times, so l revised a dispute and a request for refund. eBay simply closed the case on the sellers request and advised me I will not get a refund. My advise. Find another buying platform. Do not pay any money before delivery as if there is a problem you will loose it. I am now reporting this to my bank for refund on my card as they did not deliver and cannot prove they did. Disgusted.

eBay out of date

I can only endorse many of the other one star comments. eBay has lost touch with the consumer, the realities of today's commercial market place and, in my case, supporting a buyer who claimed the fur coat I sent her was not as described. I even made a video and posted it on Youtube to prove my case to eBay, but they refused my request to remove a negative review from the buyer. All I can say is use Gumtree, no selling fees but a clever and realistic business model where they make money by persuading sellers to pay for augmented placing of their ads.
