Service Finance is the worst on earth. Their communication is no better than their practice of slow-playing you so you pay more and more interest. I complained and they said they would look into my loan question/complaint in 3-5 business days. In 6 business days I called, nothing had been done but would not let me speak to a supervisor. Two more days, "OK, we will loo into it." The next day I got a notice from Experian !! that action was taken. I'm calling my State's AG office and you should too if you are disgusted and horrified that this thuggery takes place.
SFC runs a cheap operation with crappy phone system that cuts in and out for poor understanding of what is said, raising the level of frustration.

This company is as fradulent as they come. After we had our AC replaced, we experienced shady billing practices such as, changing the routing number on our checking account without permission or notification. This resulted in a late payment AFTER two previous payments went through.
Upon making a payment, they will give you a confirmation number indicating that the payment has been approved. A week later (or so) we get a notification that the payment did NOT go through despite having the confirmation number. These mishaps have had a negative effect on my credit score EVEN THOUGH I was assured by one of the reps that it would not have an effect. On my credit report, these 'late payments' are listed as "missed mortgage payment(s) within the last year". This is a clear violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
I will shout it from the mountain tops... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service! No one is fluent in English and they ABSOLUTELY DO NOT waiver from the script. What a nightmare!!!!! They are unable to answer simple questions (e.g., which credit agency do they use for credit checks (important to know if credit is frozen).

We signed a kitchen remodeling contract with Capital Remolding Inc. for $80,079.00. We understood that the 9.990% annual interest rate would accrue starting at contract’s completion. Now we find that the interest charge starts the date contract is purchased. Plus we keep paying interest until Service Finance (SFC) deposits payoff payment. Our check could take weeks to be received by mail and then for someone to deposit check.
FYI - Our home mortgage is with SFC’s parent company (Truist Bank) and they did not charge us interest when our check via snail mail was late (two weeks).

Service Finance financing department is horrible. I tried to apply extra payments to my principal, and they used it for my monthly payment. This company is not honest. Another time I called to make an extra payment, I specifically told them it was a principal only payment. I told them at least 4 times during this call. What did they do they took interest out of the payment. Beware, unfair business practices.

We found the whole experience very positive. We had a couple of glitches with payments in the beginning, but customer service handled them promptly and efficiently. The Website is user-friendly, and we just made our last payment online--no need for a payment letter or any other hassle. The final payment amount was accurate, and we just received a letter confirming our pay-off. So simple--was hard to believe! Thank you!

Do NOT Use This Company – They Approved Me Despite My Obvious Inability to PayI reached out to Service Finance Company through a contractor for some home work and was very upfront from the beginning. I told them multiple times that I have very bad credit and, more importantly, that I could not afford the monthly payment they were quoting. I literally said I did not want to move forward with the loan because the payments were too high for my budget.Instead of listening or denying the application like a responsible lender should, they approved me anyway. It felt like they didn’t care at all about my financial situation — they just wanted to push the paperwork through and get the contractor paid. I was shocked and extremely uncomfortable. I had to push back hard and ultimately cancel the whole thing because I knew this would end badly.This experience matches exactly what so many other people complain about with Service Finance: lack of transparency, aggressive approval practices, and zero regard for whether the borrower can actually handle the loan. Their “easy approval” process is not helpful — it’s reckless and feels predatory when someone is already saying they can’t afford it.I’m now stuck worrying that this hard inquiry will hurt my already terrible credit even more, all because they wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. Save yourself the headache and stress. If you have bad credit or are unsure about the payments, run the other way. They will approve you even when they clearly shouldn’t. Terrible company.
This company is awful
This company is awful. Once I can find away to transfer my balance to a different lender I am doing it.
They will not work with you if you have a life changing event, they don't allow payments on weekends or holidays. Scum of the lending world

My company uses Service Finance on a regular basis to help homeowners finance their projects. We have nothing but good things to say about this company.
Writing a negative review because you didn't get your way when you missed or were late with a payment or because your check didn't get processed over the weekend is wrong (that is on you). SF doesn't threaten to report you to the credit bureaus if you are on time with your payments. Read your paperwork! Vet your contractor! Don't blame someone else for your mistakes.
I just felt I had to write this after reading some of the other reviews.
Avoid this company at all cost
Avoid this company at all cost. Aggressive payment system. Will not accept online payments on Weekends/Holidays but charge interest on those days. Be sure to watch how they post payments -very haphazard ! One payment may show all principle , and next one will be all interest. If possible,suggest making payments aggressively
Service finance company placed a lien…
Service finance company placed a lien against my property, property that I own, for debt a tenant incurred. Leaving aside the host of reasons that’s not legal certainly not ethical. That’s not my main reason for writing a review.
In order to have this lien removed, I would have to go through a legal system that cost money significant amount of money for what should be a relatively straightforward and simple process rather than invest that money in a lawyer. I thought I would make a good faith effort to just pay the debt even though it is not mine and move on.
This company is impossible to deal with. I’ve spoken with several employees who refused to help me actually pay their company. It’s truly amazing. It is hard to pay them. Over the last 20 days I’ve made contact with dozens of employees requesting a way a method to pay a debt that he’s not mine. No one has been able to help. In case that company cares I’ll list their names at the bottom of this review.
Every one of these people I’ve spoken to one of these people has refused to help me pay your company:

Every single operator I’ve spoken to when I called daily cannot help and does not know where to direct me to pay.
I don’t know how somebody invest in a company that has a management who allows employees to not allow the company to collect money. Truly, it’s amazing.

I spoke to a lawyer today it’s gonna cost me about $5000 to remove a debt. That’s not mine, it’s gonna cost me time.

If I could give this company a negative 100, I would. Literally the worst company to have a loan with. Several years ago I had to have my roof replaced. Single mom here, not a lot of experience with major home repairs or a lot of free time. I called a company who was using this lender. They overcharged me for the roof, paid over $6,000 more than market. My credit is high seven hundreds always has been- until they began their unprofessional nonsense/power trip. This company refuses to allow me to set up automatic payments & constantly threatens me with reporting negative information on my credit report, and they always try. I then need to take the time to file disputes & get the negative marks/lies removed. Recently they even sent me a letter stating they couldn’t give me credit. Huh? I never asked them for credit and never would. Its like there are petulant children running that horrific company. What gives? Again today, another mark on my credit report with false information. They get their money, always. Why must they be such vindictive shts? If I didn’t care about my credit I would default just to prove a point. In short, STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS FROM THIS VINDICTIVE LENDER!!
Payment Issues
My bank sent a check on thr 31st of the month and it wasn't processed until the 8th on the following month. I ended up putting a stop payment on the checks. The employees who answer the call are no help.
Inappropriate Customer Service
I reached out in response to inappropriate customer service from one of their agents by the name of Kay. While trying to make a principal payment only, she refused to allow me to speak to a manager. After several attempts, she states that there was no manager available, and she could not provide a name of such a person on site. In addition, she stated that I was the problem and that she would not take my payment over the phone.

I wish I could give them 0 stars! Worst company ever! They not only charge you an arm and a leg daily, they still charge you after you've paid everything off! 20 years loan....how about never! Never will I use this unethical bank or loan again!

Our AC company service wizard does give us a year promotional offer with service financial for payment towards HVAC. Very disappointed with their customer service. I was on automatic payment with my bank and made 12 payments per agreement. I had one last payment that came in late because of autopay setup and when I called the costumer service they initially agreed to waive it and close the account. When I called in today to verify it’s closed, they reopened the case and said it was their mistake by waving the fees and now I owe them with interest. Very disappointing experience. Servicer’s inappropriate attitude on the phone
I truly had a bad experience with Shane - his poor phone manners when he took my question ( re : if I would have to pay back the said 100 dollars at any time ) as a refusal of the offer and his curt “ let’s get on with it “.He made a final comment in that he didn’t need me ( I’m paraphrasing) .
