Been using the cash shop for a long…

Been using the cash shop for a long time to put my phone in taken it out few days ago.decided ro put it back in to be told by a foreigner there was a problem not use that shop ever again. She wanted me to remove my account which I did anyone buying the phone only as to set up Google account and email.disgusting attitude aswell

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’m genuinely sorry to read that you left our Bulwell branch feeling unhappy — especially as you’ve been a regular customer with us for some time.

Having spoken directly with the team member who served you, I understand the situation related to your Samsung device needing to be fully signed out of both the Google and Samsung accounts before we could complete the buy-back transaction. This isn’t a policy unique to our Bulwell store or introduced arbitrarily on the day — it’s a security requirement we must follow to protect both our customers and anyone who may purchase the device in the future.

Modern smartphones, particularly Samsung devices, have security features that prevent resale if accounts remain active. If a device is not completely signed out, it can become locked and unusable for the next owner. For that reason, we are unable to proceed with a transaction unless all linked accounts are fully removed. I understand this can be frustrating, especially if you believed the accounts had already been taken off, but without the correct password or recovery access, our staff cannot override those protections.

I’m also disappointed to hear that you felt the attitude in store was “disgusting.” That certainly isn’t the standard we set at Cash Shop. The team member spent a considerable amount of time trying to help resolve the issue, and it appeared the conversation ended calmly. However, if you felt differently, I do apologise — that’s never how we want a long-standing customer to feel.

I would also like to address your reference to a “foreigner” in your review. At Cash Shop we are proud to employ colleagues from a wide variety of backgrounds and nationalities. We judge our team — and expect them to be judged — on their professionalism, conduct and the service they provide, not on where they come from. The same respect should be shown to every member of staff, just as we aim to show respect to every customer who walks through our doors.

If you’re able to regain access to the Samsung account or would like assistance doing so, we would be more than happy to help you complete the process properly and look at the buy-back again for you.

You’ve used us for a long time and we value that loyalty. I’d much rather resolve this than lose you as a customer.

Inexperienced staff locked her self out…

Inexperienced staff locked her self out of the my laptop who couldn't put the correct code in or realise a computer needs to be shut down and not just unplugged then refused to lend me any money on it . With a highly than though attitude to customers

P!!S TAKERS OUT OF VENERABLE

USE TO GET £50 FOR MY PHONE THEN ONE OF THE STAFF SAID NEXT TIME WE CAN ONLY GIVE YOU £40 AS THIS MODEL IS GETTING CHEAPER SO I WENT IN TO BORROW AGAINST MY PHONE AND THE MANAGER OFFERED ME £30 I TOLD HIM THE OTHER STAFF SAID NEXT TIME £40 BUT HE WOULD HAVE NONE OF IT I WAS QUITE DISAPPOINTED AS HE TOLD ME BEFORE I WAS A GOOD CUSTOMER BUT NOW I FEEL THEY ARE GREEDY TAKING THE P!!S OUT OF VENERABLE PEOPLE LETS JUST SAY I WON'T BE USING THEM AGAIN

Use the shop for a number of years Zoe and a few of the others over thd years always treating me what i thought was friendly, One time my hubbie had put some gold in and we couldnt afford to get it out , in gold a good three thousand pounds worth , so he asked the shop to allow him to buy back one piece out of what he had in on the ticket he only got about 800 to start with,So to be told they wanted 600 pound ti buy back one item was discusting and been a regular customer you would of thought they could of made a better offer for me to get that piece back.
But hey, ho, Robbed sprung to mind but again i used the shop as i felt it is an easy wsy to get money without getting loans .Only over the years and im in a better place financially id say stay clear don't give any pawn shop your items they charge far to much interest , they hope and would sooner you dont come back for your items, as they know what they are worth and are just rubbing their hands together knowing how much they make off you. Heartless company. As a reply to The Cash shops response, I disagree you never after selling off his items offered him the difference you can say what you want you never sent a letter explaining why there was nothing to come back to him claim your money back is fair enough but unless you think i am stupid i and you know you made money on the gold, you only wanting your money back is not true you kept what ever you made, You know me as a customer you also know i usually put the gold in the help out family members, as resent as the 13/5/24 I called to ask how much to renew, told it would be £597 so originally borrowered £2000 already payed 600 off asked how much would be still owing by 26th of the month was told by( Adrian) it would be £2456 that's some interest he also said its going up every day by £5.84 after that. Untill u (sell it ) So this must be how u get out of giving ang money back Lucky for me i was able to pay to get it out. Lesson Learnt.

We welcome all feedback as it allows us to provide some context to your review. I think it is important to point out in the first instance that pawnbrokers DO want you to redeem your goods. If items go unredeemed, we are only ever allowed to claim principal, interest and reasonable costs after selling an item. Any surplus then goes back to the customer. As such, there is no benefit for us to offer a lower amount. On the contrary, a lower loan value makes redemption more affordable for the customer, or the surplus back to the customer is greater if it goes unredeemed. I am glad you are in a better place financially and do appreciate your past business.

Very rude ignorant member of staff called Yang... l went in today to your Doncaster branch .. for my son she asked why he didn't like her l said you always insult him ...she went off shouting at me like a mad woman she isn't fit to work with people I'm 69 years old lm upset at being treated like that it isn't on she had no right to shout at me that is disgusting customer service someone else got ranted at by her after me she shouldn't be working with people she's an awful woman

Since Zoe, left the shop has gone downhill ,the only decent staff that are now there who know what they are doing is Catolina,magna and Ben the newest staff members are not people friendly

Damaged goods when using buyback.

I’ve just had a very bad experience with The Cash Shop in Nottingham.

I used my PS5 on a buyback. At the time, my console had brand new black covers, and a brand new black control pad. When I came to redeem my transaction, the pad that was given to me was badly, albeit cosmetically, damaged.

I raised my concern at the time, and the staff checked the CCTV footage which coincidentally was not recording on the day in question. On speaking to a manager, I was informed that because it couldn’t be proved, there was nothing they would do.

I would recommend you do NOT use this business, as they have either damaged my property while in their care, or else switched my pad out for a different one as mine was brand new. They have then refused any form of compensation for the damage.

NOT YOUR FRIEND!

Heartless employees, your customer loyalty means nothing (Been there in this city of HULL) These are souless vampires they’ll con you of cash, they’ll undercut you and they’ll completely disregard you as a human let alone person, this isn’t your pawnshop dispite being there 9 year. Disgusting, friends have literally robbed me, of right, “GROSS SHOP STAY AWAY”

Update: “thank you to nonsense protocol they have done 1000’s in damage to a homeless friend this shop is the worst please I implore you stay away…… they don’t care about you, they’re not your friend. Your name maybe blah blah blah they see £ £ £’s”

Con/ scammer shop stay far away

I ordered phone from this seller through eBay, item number 265370447344. It’s a huawei phone P40.
This shop sent me a fake phone with blackberry small mouth charger. It is 2021 who does that.

I was at work and had to pay cab to deliver phone to my workplace as my other phone screen broke and it is stalling business transactions.

Told this stupid company about my complain only for one idiot to reply me how do I know it’s fake!

This phone does not have play store. Could not download WhatsApp.

I will stay away from this con artist scammers.

Their garbage will be returned to them and I will get my money back but it is so hurtful as it cost me one day or two days of business now.

I wrote an email to cash shop regarding my item and my current situation but no response at all after 12 months, I wrote a review on trust pilots but still they have not bothered to get back to me. This is really awful from customer point of view . It would be nice to hear back from a company that states they "care about their customer satisfaction ".

I visited cash shop when I was at my…

I visited cash shop when I was at my lowest point in life, left my ipad Pro with them for a small cash which I was unable to repay back. I emailed customer service during covid to tell them my situation and what I am going through at the time but no one cares to reply to me. Cash shop Nottingham has left me heart broken with no hope and I end of going on medication for depression and anxiety. The ipad pro is worth over £1000 at the time and I wrote to them to sale it and to refund me at least something to see me through my hard times but I got no reply from one. This is really inhumane . I would like my case looked at properly please

Selling stolen goods

I bought a mobile phone that was later reported as stolen and blacklisted. Had there been stringent checks on the things they buy this could've been avoided. My advice is to avoid this company unless you want to go through the situation of handing over what you bought to the police to avoid being arrested for handling stolen goods.

Dear Glen, I can assure you that each phone we purchase is run through the ‘Checkmend’ system which tracks items that are reported stolen. We also take photo ID and address ID from all customers. However, in some instances individuals from whom we purchase goods then proceed to make false insurance claims after selling the phone to us (hence passing the initial check). Of course we apologise for the inconvenience, however you will receive a full refund and we are the ones out of pocket. I think it is unfair to characterise us as dealing in stolen goods without having all the facts, and failing to mention the full refund you are entitled to.
