Not only did Cheese Geek delivery my order very promptly, they then followed up with an apology that they had "short changed" me, and promptly sent me another consignment to make up for it! Highly recommended.

Whilst we appreciate it’s not quite the same as a printed booklet, we had to make some last-minute adjustments to your selection due to unexpected supply issues, and we wanted to ensure you received the correct tasting notes for the cheeses included. This is something we’re actively working on improving, so your feedback is genuinely helpful.

I’m also very sorry to hear that one of the cheeses wasn’t clearly identified. That’s certainly not what we’d expect, and we’ll be looking into this with the team to understand what happened. I ordered a surprise cheese box to…

I ordered a surprise cheese box to share with friends. However it came underweight and was I very disappointed as I had to supplement it with more cheese ( not as good ) from the local supermarket.
However your customer service person Jen, could not have been more helpful and I am now awaiting the missing cheese to arrive this week .
I have ordered with you before and was very satisfied with quality and service previously received.

This is a great service.

This is a great service that Cheesegeek provide. Their choices of cheese are unfailingly good and showcase what is good in British cheeses.

It is such a shame that their carrier, DHL, employs agents who would rather drive past rather than deliver on time.

Late delivery, mouldy cheese…

The courier used by CheeseGeeks failed to deliver the cheese as ordered on a Friday and ended up delivering it on Monday after a weekend of it not being refrigerated. As a result, my Mother received gone off cheese as her Mother’s Day present. The company were apologetic and have resent the package but this isn’t the 1st time it’s happened, I won’t be ordering from them again.

Quick edit, they did indeed arrange a replacement box, which is delayed again. So far, from 4 orders with this company, 3 have been delayed, 1 to the point of ruin.

Further edit, their customer service has been impressive and upon asking I was promptly issued a full refund. My compliments to Jen from their customer service team, she was excellent. If it weren't for their poor choice of courier, this experience would have been so much better.

Due to the extended delay in transit, we advised that the cheese shouldn’t be consumed as it was outside our freshness window, which is why we arranged a fresh replacement box straight away. We’re very sorry that this replacement was also affected by a further courier delay.

We know this isn’t the experience you hoped for, and we’ve since issued a full refund to acknowledge the inconvenience caused.

Failure to deliver and slow response to email

I ordered for delivery - a gift for my mother and DHL updated and rescheduled delivery for the following day and then failed to deliver again. This is perhaps not Cheesegeeks fault, but DHL is their chosen courier.
What is within Cheesegeeks control is how it deals with emails. Having a customer service email line that is only open from 9-1 on Monday to Friday, when deliveries are made outside of this time - or not, in this case, leaves the customer in a state of limbo without a point of contact.

DHL has been unable to deliver the parcel and it has now been rescheduled for a full week later than the original delivery date.
Given the problems with this order, the disappointment and time wasted, I won't be ordering again and wouldn't recommend as the company is reliant DHL as its courier and something is going terribly wrong with their delivery process from their Croydon depot.
It's a shame, as the cheese from previous deliveries was very good.
Cheesegeek has apologised and issued a refund for the goods it failed to supply. But that's the absolute minimum that I would expect.

Thanks so much for your feedback and I’m very sorry again for how this order played out. We completely understand how disappointing this was, especially as it was intended as a birthday gift.

I’m very sorry that you weren’t updated on the status of your delivery ahead of the weekend. Whilst I had flagged the delay with DHL and requested that your delivery was prioritised, I didn’t keep you in the loop, and I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to be left in the dark at such an important time. Your comments about our contact hours have been taken on board.

As soon as we were back online on Monday morning, we asked DHL to cancel the delivery to ensure the cheese wouldn’t arrive in poor condition, as it was then outside of our freshness window. We offered you the option of a complimentary replacement or a full refund so you could choose what worked best, and we’ve since processed your refund in full.

I’m also sorry for the confusion caused by the delivery notifications - these don’t always immediately reflect changes once a parcel has been stopped in transit.

We’re really grateful for your previous orders and your kind comments about the cheese itself, which makes this experience all the more disappointing for us as well. While we completely understand your hesitation, we do hope to see you again.

Expensive and ok cheese

Nice is you want to be introduced to cheeses, but expensive and only big enough for 2. There are 5 cheeses in each box, at over £6 per >150g bit of cheese. The 1st (Jan26) of 3 boxes was ok, but most of the 2nd (Mar26) were a bit tasteless. The card describing each is helpful. Hope the next box is better.

We focus on sourcing exceptional artisan cheeses from small producers and independent cheesemakers, many of whom make their cheeses in small batches using traditional methods. Because of that, the cost is naturally higher than mass-produced supermarket cheese - but we always work hard to ensure the selection, portion sizes and overall experience feel worthwhile.
