The Guitar Marketplace Avis 

I have been entering competitions with The Guitar Marketplace now for some time and have been fortunate enough to win on a number of occasions in that time. The competitions are great, the team are really helpful, the guitars, bases, amps and gear are all excellent quality. Long may it continue!

The sister company FatBottomGuitars offered me the best prices for my guitars, as long as they could put them up for competition. The money was paid out on time and any feelings of doubt were reassured and communicated, with legal contracts to back them up.

Ben, the director, dealt with me directly and was kind and patient. I would happily come back in the future if/when I choose to sell more of my guitars.

although I cant speak on the competition side of things, they are a small group of like minded people who are here for the customer

Great Prizes

Great experience on the site and I'm very fortunate to have won an amazing Guitar. I have only bought tickets a few times and I can't believe I won a guitar of my dreams.

I assume most of you are reading this to check the authenticity of the website. A few weeks ago I did the same and after finding enough evidence, I assumed The Guitar Marketplace was legit and bought some tickets. Days after buying tickets for a 2nd competition I was emailed and told I had won. I immediately jumped on to the livestream to confirm it was real (and yes, my name was drawn for a fantastic Fender Jazz Bass). Waiting for the delivery was nervewracking, and after a week I chased up for an update. The owner is very kind and patient and he told me he had been busy, but the bass was to be sent the following Monday. It arrived Wednesday well packaged, in perfect condition, and yes, it's a genuine Fender. Thanks so much TGM, I scored a £1k bass for about £5. I'll continue to support the business as I'm after a Les Paul next!

A little hicough at the beginning after I had been lucky enough to win a guitar, but,once the situation had been resolved the service was quick,polite and knowledgeable. I couldn't wish for better.

Ok , so I did in fact win a guitar !! Guitar is worth about £700+ depending on condition.
The guitar I won was advertised as a 9/10 condition. But when I received it I noticed this guitar has had the hell played out of it, though the finish was in excellent condition, the metal was extremely grubby and heavily tarnished (hadn’t been cleaned very often with “residue” around all fixing’s and frets and pickups , strings were rusty and old (but we change those on a new guitar anyway ) ..
but the frets , and fret board..
frets are moderately to heavily worn and uneven up and down the board .. so in terms of being a daily player it’s not as likely as a re-fret looks needed but not sure whether the hassle is worth it. The fret board is also needing work with chips and scores and depressions worn into it.

Look, I got a guitar for less than it’s worth , but the condition was misleading.. I’d just be weary about the second hand guitars in the draws, I’m sure the new ones are just fine.

I leave the review as a 4* purely as I feel I might have just been unlucky with this one in terms of condition. Guitar arrived promptly and well packaged (in padded gig bag)

I have won a couple of guitars from The Guitar Marketplace and very pleased with what I've received.
Although I have spent a few pounds I am quid's in with what I have won (so far). Highly recommend.

Fantastic competition site, well designed for guitar lovers.
One small critique, occasionally prizes go astray, which I am sure is the fault of the carrier used.
When I contact G M the problem is sorted immediately.

I was fortunate enough to get an instant win prize on Valentine's Day. Best Valentine ever. The Reverend Buckshot is a dream. Versatile, fun and inspirational. It's become my favourite. I prefer it to some more valuable and collectable brands. Arrived with full tracking on time, packaged with love, better packaging than some new retailers. I see why Billy Corgan and so many others use Reverend, truly great feel and tone and sustain. Hope to see more Reverend competitions.

Won a stunning ebony Gibson Les Paul Trad Pro with a couple of tickets. The guitar is in great condition and is a joy to play. The delivery was quick and adequately packed with no major complaints. Look forward to playing some more!

I have won a guitar and site credit from The Guitar Marketplace. The credit was instantly applied to my account, I was notified by email of my Guitar win and had it delivered within a week. Highly recommend this site!!

Great music competition site, something for everyone. Recommended

Good people. Had a problem with my tickets which was very quickly resolved. Although i must have spent nearly £400 and had nothing in return. Of course it is luck of the draw and maybe i’m just not so lucky. Overall a good well run business, but i wont be buying again, as it in no way is a alternative to buying a guitar if you think it is this certainly isn’t for you and you'll feel rather hard done by when you’re nearly a grand down with nothing to show, this is more about the fun than anything!

After winning the guitar on the 23rd of November I have just received the guitar today. While I am delighted to have won the guitar I must say waiting nearly 3 months and constantly chasing up information on delivery has took some of the excitement of winning away. Don't think I will be buying a ticket again. I will say the guitar is immaculate and my wee lad loved playing it today.

Couldn’t be happier I’ve won 2 guitars already in 2024. An amazing Gibson SG and a beautiful Fender Telecaster! Great company, amazing guitars and so happy!

I usually collect prizes and can confirm that it is a properly constituted business with its own premises.

I occasionally enter these draws, I usually buy one ticket for something if it’s something I really like, just for a bit of fun. Anyway, happy new year to me, I won a Rickenbacker 360 FG. It arrived today, it’s glorious. Communication was great with TGM, delighted. TGM is what it says, the odds are shown when you buy your ticket, good luck. It worked for me.
