Table customer service needs attention
My daughter and friends have been talking about the Sunday feast at the ned for months
So i decided to treat them for a christmas gift . We came yesterday and was greeted by a lovely door man who helped us with our parking as my friend was in a wheel chair . We were a little early so we decided to have a drink first He took us to the area where we could order drinks and told us where to go for our Lunch .
We got seated on time and was so overwhelmed with all the food choices . The starters were incredible especially the lobster . We then went onto the roast the meat was amazing and veg but the potatoes and yorkshire were a little dry .
The pudding selection was fantastic the crumble was to die for . By this time we were all so full up and was asked by the waiter if we wanted a hot drink which we all ordered mint tea . The waiter had
mentioned twice before during our meal they would need the table for other guest which i found unprofessional and puts you on edge to rush your food and experience .
We were given 3 pots of tea one which was very big . We were given the bill while drinking our tea and paid and was asked after to leave . I was shocked and replied we are still drinking our hot tea . We were all very disappointed and it changed our experience as we were taking about booking to come back with our partners . Note to management you need to train your staff better or maybe have a polite notice on the table explaining time slots .
Sunday Feast at The Ned
Im not normally a complainer but feel compelled to write my first ever review after visiting the Ned. The food was good, the chef’s serving the Sunday Feast were friendly and the music was great. But sadly that’s the best I can report. The reservation staff were unfriendly, as were the staff when we arrived. I’d even go as far as to say they were condescending. There were two doorman but they didn’t hold the door for us, I even held the door myself for a lady with a pram as she left and they watched me do it. They didn’t offer to take our coats when we arrived which is fine but then we were firmly told off for putting our coats on our seats and the area behind our table. When we left they couldn’t find our coats using our cloakroom ticket which would’ve been fine if they we’re helpful but they tried to palm me off with someone else’s coats, rolled their eyes when I tried to explain these weren’t ours, then after a third attempt handed my coat upside down so the contents of the pockets fell on the floor which I then picked up. The table service was very average. For a 5* star hotel and at the price they charge for the Sunday feast, this venue really need to improve their customer service. It’s such a shame as we were really excited to go but the experience was so poor. If you book to go, be mentally prepared, just focus on the lovely building and food but don’t expect a warm experience.
Would rate lower but the room and…
Would rate lower but the room and establishment was clean and some of the staff was nice and helpful but food was cold we never complained as you felt you had to be thankful you was dining in there after giving 400 British pounds to stay in the hotel charged for being late to the table 50 pounds + 150 for room charges which was unclear what they was as we never had room service and to keep trying to take money of my card for no reason whatsoever security was very rude as soon as it was last orders stood hovering for us to go up to room cross question in the spa as if we was guests in hotel when we gave room number and names what was ment to be a Christmas get away after driving from Scotland turned into very expensive and under whelming experience
Poor service and food. Poor show the ned
I feel for my daughter and her partner who had the Sunday feast we brought this as a present for her birthday. Only to be disappointed. A lot of the buffet was missing and was being put away the staff were poor for how you would expect of an establishment of this calibre.
They left unhappy. We were thinking of booking for us to go, but after this review we won’t be visiting.
What the Ned!!
What the Ned!!
What a letdown.
We came to The Ned to celebrate a close friend’s special birthday — a group of twelve, ready to enjoy the evening. Instead, from the moment we arrived, we were micromanaged as if we’d broken some invisible house rules. clearly not their people!!
Sit down.
Don’t stand and chat.
Don’t put your drink down.
Check your coat.
Relax? Impossible. The vibe was cold and controlling.
When we finally moved to the dining area, things didn’t improve. The waiting staff looked terrified — not a single smile all night — as though management were watching their every move.
We spent a generous amount that evening but left feeling completely unwelcome. Sadly, The Ned has lost not just us, but our wider circle of family and friends too.
Negative experience.
I have always had really positive experiences in this hotel. However, recently my partner came to stay and we went to go for a drink. We were refused entry as they said it was too full. But then they proceeded to let multiple people in after us. We were dressed smartly. However my partner did have a logo top on. If that was the reason I think they should be honest and just say why.
Pompous and Condescending
Walking back from Shaftesbury Avenue, popped in for a quick drink and snack.
Doorman - Blanked us.
Barman - Surly.
Maitre De - Pompous & condescending.
Service Charge - 14.5%
They clearly think they are very special but you know, at the end of the day, it's an overpriced bar and restaurant the rest is the Kings New Clothes.
I won't be bothering again.
Not what we expected
We went to the feast at Millie’s in the Ned yesterday afternoon. The drinks area and music were great had a couple of cocktails. The feast was underwhelming very expensive with a hefty tip added. When I went to get my main course and asked what the vegetarian option was the chef just pointed at the salad , to say I was disappointed was an understatement. Not really prepared to pay £130 for a buffet and stand in queue with my plate and be charged a hefty tip. Won’t be back it’s a shame as we were excited to be going
I can’t say enough terrible things
I can’t say enough terrible things. They were rude upon check in, and despite there being available rooms and me having in writing that I’d be entitled to an upgrade, outright refused and proceeded to make every element of my trip as difficult as they could. I even video myself leaving so they couldn’t accuse me of stealing anything, I’ve never done that.
Then to be slapped with a credit card charge as a “tip” which they call an accommodation fee in case you won’t notice, what an absolute joke. Maybe pay your staff properly and they might then do a better job.
Easily the worst out of 1000 nights in the past 5 years at hotels, they’re vile.
We paid nearly £1000 on food and drinks…Asa’s a.
We paid nearly £1000 on food and drinks at the parlour for my birthday and then went to the Vault and they turned us away even though we had spent the most money even though the club was empty! The manager was so disssmisive and said it was a no! We would have spent so much more, I will never come back again!!!!
Blown away
It's simply amazing to visit these wonderful historic buildings in the heart of the City of London and see history meeting modernity. The NED is a wonderful hotel, although I spent most of the afternoon in the Asian fusion restaurant and piano bar.
Millie's Lounge Sunday Feast
We booked Millie's Lounge for our Son's birthday and we had a memorable afternoon there.
The food, drink and entertainment are all first class.
The staff are attentive and informative.
Special mention to Bianca for arranging everything both before and during our visit.
We look forward to returning again soon!
Thank you,
Garry and Sharon.
An incredible experience
I have been recommended The Ned London by my concierge and I was so pleasantly surprised. What a building and what a vibe. We ended up at Millie's Lounge. The service was excellent and we also thoroughly enjoyed the food.
Highly recommended if you are in London for a pleasant night out.
Regret signing up for a Ned membership
Poor experience with this club, The Ned. I regret signing up for membership in the first place. The membership team isn't understanding if you need to pause or cancel your membership before the year ends -or- they don't respond or get back to you for weeks on simple requests. They hide behind their T&Cs on everything but seem to have zero accountability for their poor service or lacking communication.
Romanian dictatorship at the Ned
Are you looking for a stressful and inequitable place of work as a security officer ? a place where you can't conduct your duties and can't express yourself ? a place plenty of homophobic and racial jokes ? a place where the manager Daniel is sleeping 24/7 ? a place ruled by biased people ? do you want to be discriminated every single day ?
In such case welcome to the Ned security department ! Here everything is permitted . On one condition . To be romanian . If you are romanian you can do everything you want . You can bully the other no romanians members of the staff (like Christian is doing ) you can make fun of them because of their nationality ,colour of their skin or religion. You can be arrogant and you can speak down to people like Andrej does . Here you can have better life only for romanians , better shifts only for romanians , better food prepared only for romanians by the night chefs as they prepare for Monica . not at the canteen . If you are romanian you can start your shift late after 7 and finish early before 7 . Gareth and Jessica have a look at CCTV ! please ! If you are romanian you can take home everything you want at the end of your shift . not only food .
But if you are not romanian your position is at permanent risk . you will be belittled and if you speak out about the daily abuses you will be eliminated . you will be lose your job instantly . You must obey in silence if you are not romanian .
Thank you for your leadership mister Mihaila Daniel , You are a great leader . When you are awake .
Fresh squeezed? I don't think so.
The Ned is undoubtedly an impressive establishment. Our breakfast was fine, if not unexpectedly overpriced. To the minor irritation of my breakfast buddies, I politely asked the waiter if the orange juice was fresh squeezed, and I received a definitive yes. This is utter nonsense. They provide juice from a carton in a very small glass with a very high price. This may sound minor, but I guess I am getting tired of being sold something purporting to be something else. Come on The Ned, squeezing real oranges into a glass is not rocket science.
Just a gem!
The Ned is just a gem in the city! Incredible design and outstanding choice of restaurants. It's the perfect spot for a business meeting or to get a lovely Martini after work. Totally lush!
