[Private Tour] The Somerset Yangtze River in Chongqing boasted views overlooking the iconic Yangtze River. The apartment-like room was incredibly impressive, offering a full kitchen, separate dining and living areas, a comfortable bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe, and even convenient amenities like a washer, oven, and induction hob. Somerset location was rather off (45 – 60 mins walk one way) from the Raffles City Chongqing and longer walk to Hongya Cave.
The provision of a luxurious EV sedan truly enhanced our exploration of the city outskirts, ancient towns, and the stunning Dazu and Baoding. A special thank you to our Chongqing guide, Roy, who was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. He readily took us to the places we wished to see and offered insightful recommendations for our free time within the city. Roy's deep knowledge of Chongqing's culture and history, shared through fascinating stories of its past and present development, truly enriched our experience.
Moving on to Zhangjiajie, we were warmly greeted at the railway station by Rita. Her enthusiasm for showing us around was immediately apparent. The National Scenic Spot Sunshine Resort Hotel was clean and well-maintained, and its large gardens effectively shielded us from any traffic noise despite its location.
Rita went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience in Zhangjiajie. We were so grateful for her flexibility in rearranging our itinerary due to the rain, allowing us to visit the breathtaking Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountains on clearer days. Her proactive communication, constantly checking our preferences and offering alternatives, was much appreciated. The lunch locations she selected in Zhangjiajie, Furong, and Fenghuang were outstanding, each offering stunning scenic views of mountains, rivers, waterfalls, and lakes.
A truly memorable moment was Rita's thoughtful arrangement of a birthday cake upon our arrival at the incredibly scenic Tusi Xuanfu Furong hotel, which overlooks the ancient town built on top of the waterfall. Rita's knowledge extended beyond the landscapes; she also shared captivating historical and cultural insights into the ancient towns and the Southern Great Wall of China.
While our hotel in Guangzhou, the Ausotel Smart, was a bit compact, its location was convenient. Exploring the fascinating maze-like alleyways of Shipai Village right behind the hotel was an unexpected highlight.
Overall, the entire itinerary was well-organized and coordinated by Tracy, who was always reachable and promptly addressed our needs. Given our last-minute booking, Tracy's smooth handling of the arrangements and our special request (High Speed Rail Class) was truly commendable. We look forward to working with her again on future trips.
In hindsight, having a hotel with a washer during our final days in Guangzhou would have been beneficial after our 13-day journey.

This was our second 21-day trip to China organized by TCT and Tracy, our incredible travel manager. Each detail of our different stops worked beautifully and we learned a great deal as we went along. Starting with our initial ideas of places to visit, Tracy was entirely responsive and understood our travel style and goals (history, culture, people). We hope to visit additional locations in the future, if possible. Thanks so much to Tracy and TCT.

A great family trip to China was planned by Kelly in TCT. All the places we wanted to go to were included with advice on extras we didn’t know about. Guides and vehicles are all top class. Hotels are great, one was a little far out but it didn’t matter due to driver being available. We travelled to Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai. TCT arranged all internal travel on trains and plane and in every city someone was there to meet us. We had no lost time, maximised our 13 day trip and got to experience China for the first time. We will return and I wouldn’t hesitate to use TCT again.

I have been to chaina on eleven days package tour in the month of April 2025. My allocated tour manager was very good and her guidance in finalizing the tour package was very helpful. We were 14 in the group tour and the guides we had were excellent except in one place at terracotta . It is mainly due the crowds at the that place and the guides carelessness and attitude.
The restaurants we were taken for lunch was high quality and very hygienic environment.
The TCT has fulfilled all the needed services as per the package and I do not hesitate to take another tour with TCt.kishan Mangarai.

Myself and my wife had a customised 16 days VIP tour package in China with muslim halal food meals included. We had major problem with muslim halal food arranged by TCT tour company. My wife had food poisoning and admitted one night in hospital in Beijing. The tour guides and the tour company are not aware of muslim halal food requirements. They think muslim halal food is any food without pork or pork oil or wine.
The hotel and transportation arrangements were very good by the tour company.

In Zhangjiajie city our tour guide English was very poor. She was changed on second day after complaining. The new tour guide English was good but she did not have any experience as tour guide. We missed some of the attractions in the program because of unexperienced tour guide. The tour company were trying to resolve the issues when we complain. However some of the issues such as muslim halal food arrangement were not resolved in some of the cities we visited.

Another annoying issue was the budget for lunch. The first day in Beijing we were advised that your budget for lunch is 70 Yan per person per day only addition cost you have to pay. We complained to the travel agent because this was not mentioned or agreed in our package agreement. They increased it to 100 Yan per person per day. Despite this change when we go another city the tour guide tell us your budget is 70 Yan again and we do not accept and then they contact their office to verify.
In general we did not enjoy our 16 days trip in China for two main reasons; non availability of muslim halal food or good international seafood and communication/language barriers. We will not go back to China again.

Abbiamo sempre usufruito di tour privati organizzati da agenzie locali in moltissimi paesi del mondo (dall’Alaska al Myanmar, dal Nepal all’india, dalla Malesia all’Indonesia ecc, e siamo stati sempre soddisfatti del servizio reso. Ma evidentemente le Agenzie cinesi fanno eccezione.
in data 12 gennaio 2025 abbiamo inviato la richiesta di tour privato sul sito TopchinaTravel. con il nostro programma: 2 partecipanti, soggiorno di 13 giorni (dal 5 maggio), località da visitare Shanghai più due water towns e Pechino. Auto con autista, guida in inglese o in italiano (non avendo per nostra fortuna problemi di budget).
Il 15 gennaio rispondeva SHARON LIAO, ringraziandoci per la scelta della sua agenzia e lieta di poterci inviare a breve la sua offerta. Purtroppo sono passati giorni senza ricevere nulla. Dopo solleciti vari, SHARON LIAO rispondeva scusandosi perché era in vacanza e ci assicurava il preventivo entro 2 giorni. Dopo di che il nulla….
Quindi TopchinaTravel si è dimostrata un’agenzia cinese assolutamente inaffidabile (come peraltro anche l’altra agenzia cinese Chinahighlights, che si è comportata allo stesso modo). Per fortuna esistono ottimi tour operator italiani.

Great experience with Top China Travel. Guides very knwledgeable n will go extra mile. TCT also plan base on individual itinery n budget. Kudos to TCT for bringng my plans to reality n will encourage others to go with TCT

I found Frederich to be minimally effective. He was a poor communicator and did not respond in a timely manner. He was expecting me to understand the ways to fill things out on the computer. I believe he needs more training in how to relate to people in my age group( over 70)

Thank you for the tour for providing us with a lot of informative information about the sites and places visited. One of the features that we did not expect was that one particular tour guides would bring you to shops where we felt that we had to buy some items that were not part of the itinerary. We were not aware that one of the tour guides made us feel uncomfortable when he checked our items a few times, perhaps wanting to make commission and get referral fee from our items.

Amelie who was our coordinator fully internalised our needs and developed a bespoke itinerary for us. She was especially patient when we had to do numerous iterations to map out the requirements, and even when we were on the tour, she was responsive to meet our new needs and proactive to ensure we had a good time. The guides were also friendly and professional, and special shout out to Ivy and Linda for the Xian and Beijing segments respectively where they went out of her way to help us find places to do what we wanted/buy.

Die Umsetzung der Reise vor Ort war nicht weniger beeindruckend. Unsere deutschsprachigen Reiseleiter waren ein absolute Experten und haben uns mit ihrem tiefen Wissen über Land, Leute und Kultur begeistert. Seine Geschichten und Erklärungen haben den Besuch der zahlreichen Sehenswürdigkeiten – von der Großen Mauer bis hin zu den faszinierenden Gärten von Shanghai – zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Dabei hatten sie immer ein offenes Ohr für unsere Fragen und waren stets bemüht, uns die besten Einblicke in die chinesische Kultur zu geben, Vielen Dank dafür. Sollten wir wieder einmal in dieses faszinierende Land reisen, dann gewiss wieder mit Top China Travel.

My wife and I had a 4 week Top China Travel tour of China in November of 2024. While not the ideal tourist season, the guides/drivers, lodgings, weather and locations were all we could have asked for and we basically had the entire country to ourselves!!
We initially contacted a lady named Tracy from TCT Guilin, China, to begin our tour organization. She was friendly, professional, very involved and provided a basic 11 day tour itinerary to consider and then helped us sort out where we wished to go, places see and things to do during our China Holiday.
She was fully able to arrange everything we needed for our 28 day tour and was always available during the tour for questions and suggestions!
We visited 10 different cities, along with Hong Kong, Macau and Tibet. We saw Tienanmen Square, The Forbidden City, palaces and gardens, The Great Wall, Terra Cotta Warriors, Potala Palace (at about 12,500 feet ASL) in Lhasa Tibet, the Panda Research Center, Chongqing and a 3 day cruise on The Yangtze River and visited the 3 Gorges Dam and Yichang.
We saw Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, and lots of country.
Bullet Train rides at 300 KPH, flights to Tibet, buses, private cars, great hotels, excellent food suggestions (Yak in Tibet), walking tours, many Monasteries, Temples and Palaces and local street visits made the experience unforgettable! We were taken to train stations or airports, put on the correct transport and then met by new guides and drivers at the next tour stop. It all went off without a hitch or problem!
Our city guides and drivers could not have been any better! They were professional, courteous, very knowledgeable and extremely patent with us 'Old People' and were always open to slight modifications along the way......
We CANNOT recommend TCT any higher and plan to look into future tours with them as they do tours to most Asian countries! Our biggest "THANK YOU!" to everyone involved with making this a 'Tour of a Lifetime!'

The tour guide Comeil is an excellent guide. Very organised, accommodating and service oriented. She plans ahead, is punctual and goes out of her way to make you comfortable. Very happy she was assigned to us. Checks everything to make sure guests are happy.

Haben im November für 2 Wochen eine Rundreise durch China gemacht. Alles war sehr gut organisiert, wir fühlten uns sehr wohl und alle 4 Reiseleiter waren sehr bemüht, uns die Schönheiten von China näher zu bringen. Gerne wieder!

I didn't worry about anything at all, my trip was almost perfect from start to finish.
I stayed in the best hotels in all the cities, with attentive and helpful guides, friendly, flexible and very knowledgeable, who speak English very well! Clark in ChengDu and Ronan in Zhangjiajie were special! China is an incredible, beautiful country, with very friendly people. I will definitely be back!
