Honestly, it felt like they just air-freshened the place and hoped for the best. There was that “fresh clean smell” everywhere… but very little actual cleaning to go with it.

Floors weren’t properly hoovered or mopped, skirting boards still dirty, candle wax left on the floors and window sills, and big black marks still on the walls. When I raised it, I was told it had all been “wiped down” — which might be true, but I’m fairly sure I paid for a clean, not a quick once-over with a cloth.

I genuinely don’t know how they expected me to hand the flat over to a new tenant in that condition.

To top it off, the parking permit mysteriously disappeared during the clean. They were the only ones in the flat, yet somehow it vanished into thin air, leaving me to pay to replace it.

When I called to complain (after having to pay someone else to come in and actually finish the job), I suggested a partial refund. I was offered £15 — which felt more like a joke than a resolution — and, unsurprisingly, that never even materialised. Not worth chasing, but it does sum up the experience nicely.

At one point, even after I’d sent videos and photos, I was accused of trying to pull one over. I had to ask him if he’d actually looked at the evidence — which seemed to leave him completely dumbfounded. He did offer to come around to rectify but the tenant was moving in the next day.

Overall, “Top Notch” is… ambitious branding. “Top-Not Cleaners” might be more accurate

This company went above and beyond with very short notice on Xmas eve.

Non-Payment After Completed Work – My Experience

I’m posting this review to document my genuine experience and warn others.

Work Completed
I completed a job for this company valued at £1,000. The work was finished in full and as agreed.

Payment Not Made
After completion, I was not paid. There were no complaints about the work at the time.

Ignored Follow-Ups
I attempted to resolve this professionally by calling, texting, and following up multiple times. All communication was ignored once the work was done.

Professional Standards
Failing to pay for completed work is unacceptable and shows a lack of professionalism and basic business ethics.

Advice to Others
If you plan to work with this company (as a contractor or partner), protect yourself. Get everything in writing and do not rely on promises after the job is completed.

Conclusion
This review reflects the facts of my experience. Based on this, I cannot recommend this company.

We employed them for a deep clean (3 bed semi), 3 guys came in today, were here for over 7 hours, and did an absolutely fantastic job. The house has never been cleaner. My wide and myself were totally flabbergasted, well beyond our expectations. Thoroughly recommend. Brilliant job.

We just finished an renovation, redoing a whole house from top to bottom. The house was beyond dirty.

Top Notch were recommended to me by our architect. And what a fantastic recommendation.

3 super professional and friendly guys showed up and worked none stop for 6+ hours. They did an exceptional job. Every little nook and cranny was done brilliantly. We have lots of drawers, built in wardrobes, shelves and high hanging lighting and beams. Everything was done really well.

We also have lots of expensive fittings and we are overly sensitive about them. The team has lots of respect and care for all the items and were thoughtful about how to clean them gently.

I only went with this company based on all their 5 star reviews. I was hopeful I would get a great clean but I was left so disappointed. Their service and cleaning is absolutely shockingly poor. Many areas left completely untouched dust and grime left on so many surfaces. To make matters worse they were rude and had an attitude. This was unacceptable. Save yourself money and look elsewhere. Surely most of these 5 star reviews are fake!!
