TOWER CABS LIMITED Avis 

Pre booked a taxi on Tuesday 10 August for pick up on Friday 13 August .
After 45 minutes wait, despite several phone calls and promises the taxi was on its way , it still never arrived and I was told not likely too for some time .
Why take a booking if you can’t honour it .
Shocking service - Do not use - they will let you down

I booked a taxi one week in advance with tower cabs Plymouth. The taxi was over 30 mins late, when I called to ask where it was they said it’s in its way. How wrong was that.
Tower cabs new we had a table booked to meet friends. When the taxi eventually turned up the drive said he only got the call to pick us 5 mins before he got to us, absolutely discussing will never use them again.

Taxi was late
Driver was using a phone
Driver was angry at me and moaning on the phone about me to the office because he said my card details wasn't coming up and basically it was going to be a free taxi but I had it on my phone that I was paying for it by card.
Really upset being a young female post a 12 hour shift.

Booked a taxi and through my error went to the wrong place had an hospital appointment and had limited time ,phoned the company again explained they sent another taxi even though busy and got me there in time good service from Tower cabs .

Phoned to pre book a cab for 1am. Taxi turned up on time. Reasonably priced. Really good service.

Always rated Tower Cabs as the most reliable cab company in Plymouth, until this evening. Called the office and asked for a cab in 30 minutes, no problem apparently. After 45 minutes, I rang again and I received an apology and reassurance that I had a maximum of another 10 minute wait. Rang after another 15 minutes, on its way. Rang again, after another 15 minutes, on its way, again! Rang again, after another 15 minutes...
If a cab is going to take an hour and 35 minutes to arrive, BE HONEST and say that, so a customer has a clear idea of the waiting time and can therefore choose to wait, or phone another company. I know that we have all been through a difficult time, but in order for a business to stay a business, look after your customers, don't lie to them and potentially, leave people in a vulnerable, health harming or potentially dangerous situation. How have they been able to retain their license?

Phoned company to preebook at 14.30 to collect me at 16:45 for a doctors appointment at 17:20
Left work, waited a few minutes but no sign so I call them.
Lady on the phone angrily tells me “it’s only a few minutes late..” she then tells me the cab is “4 minutes away”
I wait for 15 minutes and ring back.
They inform me that a driver turned up and supposedly “waited outside for 15 minutes” before they put me as a no show.
I’d been waiting outside the entire time. They reassure me that they’ll try to send another taxi as I had left work early for this .
I wait, the time is now 17:15 and still no sign so I phone again starting with “hi I’m sorry to bother you but” and the lady cuts me off and says “where’s your cab booked from?” I answer and start trying to explain and she talks over me loudly telling me to “just wait a minute”. After a while on hold she picks up again and says “according to our system you missed your taxi. It’s not our fault you missed your taxi”. I said “I’ve been waiting outside for half an hour looking out for the driver” she said “well we track our drivers so you obviously haven’t been” I said “I’m not lying.. please I need to get to my doctors appointment I prebooked this hours ago” she said “look it’s not our fault you missed your taxi. This is your fault!” And then she put the phone down on me!!
A taxi then showed up 15 minutes after my appointment was due to have been.

Driver very pleasant but nearly 1.5 hours wait even though booked this morning. Kept 90 year old parents up as they couldn't go to bed and ruined a rare night out. Been using for about 25 years and won't now use again

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY....if you have mental health issues or have anxiety do Not use them!!!!!!! No empathy at all. I got into the cab.. I was wearing a badge that states I have a hidden disability so I'm exempt from wearing a mask but as
I got into the cab the female driver began driving and immediately barked at me wheres my mask? I showed her my badge and she didn't want to know and said that people like me are the reason that covid is spreading. She then told me. she didn't care about the fact I had a hidden disability and she hadn't had her second jab yet so I was putting her at risk.. Without knowing anything about me she said that I should know better being vunrable! So I should do my bit and protect her and others around me. she then said she was within her rights to refuse me travel.. Okay fine but she should have checked with me first and if I wasn't going to have a mask she could of passed the job on if she didn't feel comfortable but she said well your in the car anyway so she carried on. She Proceeded to shout at me about it and made it clear she wasn't happy about it. When we pulled up to where I live she yet again barked at me asking if I was paying cash or card.. I said card as that's all I had and she said she had to charge me more due to using a card.. That's never been a thing that there's a limit!! But money wasn't a issue I wanted out of that car!
She lent over the with the card reader and I put my card over the device and due to it not beeping and she yelled at me again being over the top and inpatient and didn't see I already had my card out and over it. .she hurried me along....she barked thank you about 3 times like that was going to make it all OK?!

I was that afraid of her I couldn't find the courage to say that she was being very rude and uncalled for.... Due to me being very vunrable and at times quite mute cos of her aggressive nature and one worded answer she yelled at me even louder because she couldn't hear me she really made me feel so uncomfortable and actually quite frightened... I don't know how to do confrontation. It scares me. I freeze with fear. She created this tension with her disturbing behavior and awful attitude. I suffer from ptsd and other mental health issues and she reduced me to tears and I shook the whole journey. I cried the whole way and she couod hear me crying. I got home and collapsed in my kitchen and cried even more and I know this sounds totally dramatic but when I live with pain every day mentally and physically I don't appreciate people adding to it in thay way so if your like me and your vunrable....

I have never heard so much attuned from a operator and to say that I was wrong when all what was happend is me saying a taxi can't leave before the booking time is even there you can't arive 15 minutes early and then leave 5 minutes before the booking time nuce your coming early but that dose not mean you get to leave early and the operated on the phone wow she has no customer service skills like none she was absolutely no help I will never use this company again and will tell everyone I know not to use them absolutely disgusting.

Fabulous communication and the most respectful, accommodating and respectful drivers! On the way to the restaurant, communication was great and we knew that we might be a little late (2 mins in the end). On the return, (call 5666) the original driver left us standing but, a call to the office and, the replacement driver was fantastic, apologetic and a great guy. Thanks Tower, appreciate you are working in unprecedented times so please pass on our huge thanks to driver in VU16 LVY #superstar.

The Magic of Tower Cabs!

Tonight is the 2nd time I have called upon Tower Cabs.

On both occasions, Tower have been able to fit me in with only a 5 minute wait whilst other taxi firms have been too busy to accommodate me and have given me wait times of up to an hour and a half!

I don't know what magic makes Tower Cabs be able to dodge the traffic like this but it most certainly is magic to me!

Thank you Tower for coming to my rescue. I think you should rename yourselves to "Tower, Knights of the Road"

I will NEVER use them again. If I could give 0 stars I would. Taxi turned up 20 minutes late by which time I’d missed my appointment. Thanks for nothing. Plenty of other RELIABLE taxi services out there, who actually turn up at the time you book them for. All I get is some half hearted attempt at an apology.

Would never use these again. Very disappointed. Booked my taxi for 10pm last night and when I got out of work it wasn’t there. They left me a voicemail and he sounded disgusting and disrespectful. So they decided to cancel the booking so I was stood by myself and 10pm and I had to ring my brother to pick me up. Never using again!

I had to work at 8pm on boxing day morning so I pre booked my taxi the night before , got my confirmation to say it was booked. This morning my taxi did not turn up and I was extremely late for work! This is unacceptable!! if u can pre-book then the service has to be there if not I should have been contacted at least half an hour before so I could try and sort out another way to get into town. Tried calling the main office and it just rung off . I will not be using this taxi firm again.

I work at Derriford Hospital on Saturday & Sunday on the 1400 until 2200 shift. Because Citybus doesn't operate a service to Devonport after 2015 on Sunday I have to get a taxi home. For the last four weeks my Tower Cabs taxi has been 25 minutes late. Today, 13/12/20, it was 45 minutes late. I called Tower Cabs several times and I was fobbed off with "it will be 5 minutes" & "we are short of drivers". I told the controller that I had booked the taxi in the morning & if they couldn't provide me with a taxi then they shouldn't have accepted the booking. The controller accused me of being rude. Some of my colleagues booked a Taxi First cab for 2210 & it did turn up on time. I will not be using Tower Cabs again.

A complete joke rang a taxi at 2.30 and rang back at 3.00 and rang back at 3.29 to be told its up to the taxi driver which call him they take no its up to who is next in line.
I work in retail and dont serve the person who is going to pay me more first come first served ridiculous service.
A taxi can refuse a job for a job because its more money customer service get you're staff educated. Never again horrible customer service and your people answering phones need a reality check RUDE....

I think how you can improve is when someone books via the app or telephone a few hours prior to the time is alert the drivers half hour before so they can get to that job on time also make an alert if the taxi is going to be running late because 3 times in a row now my taxis been late and they still expect full price for the job also maybe who ever sends the jobs maybe they can improve to so taxis are hardly late ok just a few suggestions there.

Christmas meal at the Duke of Cornwall. Booked taxi for 12.15, was waiting outside at 12.10. 12,45 still no taxi. Got through on mobile at 12.50 to be told I wasn't outside. I was. 1 am, still no taxi. 1.20 still no taxi. Friend got out of bed to take me home. Thank's Tower cabs. !!! Booked taxi for the Ballet, at Theater Royal, Guess what, late for that. Have used Tower for years, NO MORE.

Tower cabs offer a brilliant service, I’ve started to use this company all the time now, the operators are friendly and helpful, and on a couple of occasions they’ve squeezed my booking in to help me out! I can honestly say I’d rate this company head and shoulders above all the others in Plymouth, very professional and reliable
