AWFUL COMPANY!
I visited NI for the first time this week for a wedding and would never go back, for as lovely as the scenery is, the transport system is awful and 3rd countries I've been to, have a better transport. My train arrived late into Antrim and I time to pick up a coffee from the shop opposite the station and made it back to the bus stop on time. The bus is due to leave at 25mins past the hour and as I was walking alongside the bus, that had the doors opened letting in another passenger, the driver quickly closed the them as I approached the doors and started to drive off. I called out and he seemed to go to stop but then didn’t and drove off at speed. I then spoke to a woman wating for another bus and she said the next one was an hour away. I quickly ran into the train station and spoke to a very unhelpful member of staff and the time on the clock was 25 mins and 32sec past the hour so it's not like I was mins 'late'. I can't believe their 'International' airport does not have a train linked to it! A lot of the staff at all points of travel were not very unhelpful but rude and all that fiddley diddley dee friendly attitude is a not very genuine!
I got to the Europa station at 23.00…
I got to the Europa station at 23.00 for the 23.15 212 bus to Derry. I was advised that the bus had already left and there was no other bus that was going to take the other people that had tickets for for 23.15 bus. Approx 30 people who had tickets were left behind and told to wait another hour for the next bus and that there would be no guarantee for a seat on it either. Customers who had already bought tickets have to stand outside in a line for an hour at night to try and get a space on the next bus. If the bus is frequently over subscribed then a second or third bus should be arranged also. Poor service

Why do we spend our time complaining about this despicable company because the company never listens. Dublin airport ~Newry service a joke. Bus left us at start of T2 building had to drag suitcases to T1 building. Arrived back at airport 4 dubious looking characters leaning against 5 trolleys INSIDE bus shelter while passengers had to stand outside shelter in rain . It was not made obvious until the 4 people moved and their high Viz vests had Translink employees written on the back WHAT WAS THEIR PURPOSE.? It certainly was not to help people put cases into bus I have a few minutes to write this I know I am waisting my time. The new hub will be on local news bulletins and management will be all smiles and dimples but what are they doing about a company that is crumbling around them. If foreign visitors have their first contact with N I hospitality through Translink at Dublin Airport God help us all!!

Driver humiliated and spoke disgracefully to me after purchasing a ticket for a designated stop on his route. I have the email from customer service stating that it was a designated stop because this wasn't the first time this has happened. However, he said he didn't give 2 hoots what customer service said and that he will NOT be stopping at that stop again. Even said he would refuse a ticket. I was in tears as a young female and have anxiety because I relay on the service for work.
Utterly disgraceful.

Terrible company - journey times are far too long and far too expensive, and what is their obsession with routing every westward journey through Dungannon?
How can a journey of 80 miles take 2 and a half hours???????
No choice but to use them, since they are operating as a monopoly in my area, but I'd gladly change operators if only another was available.
The buses are old and not fit for purpose. the drivers are rude. The complaints process is terrible. Would love to never set foot on another Translink vehicle ever.

Would rate less than 1 star if possible. I’ve had the displeasure of getting translink buses for the past 10 years. They never show up and when they do it’s always at a completely random time. Ticket prices keep increasing all while the services get worse. Honestly you’re better off walking than paying for these woeful services.

Don't know what to say. Staff approach to stranger at bus stop. That bus stop wasn't used. I want to use it he approach me. Asking are you getting the bus and close enough to girl. But not his business. Now I'm afford to use at any free bus stop while I'm waiting for bus now. She done it to him too. I'm not only 1. Have they got nothing else to do? Not their job to approach every member in public. Can they not just leave us alone. If we need them we will ask. What a waste of service in not use bus stop in town belfast today. What is wrong with Translink bus drivers. Here's a tip; if you aren't able to service the public, don't work in publoc service.
I have continually watched these 'public workers' pull off from stops as people approach or reach the Glider. You can say they are stuck to a timetable, we'll yes, a service every 10 minutes, yet these drivers pull away at 8.57. 9.57. etc. Can't wait 30 seconds or a minute more when SEEING passengers walk towards your bus?!
As for Translinks complaints service...THEY DONT WANT TO KNOW!
Oh and clean the Gliders better, they are disgusting.

Is there a worse service in the UK/Europe. Translink are reliably useless. Their online journey planner is more a loose guideline than timetable. Absolutely impossible to make plans or be anywhere near on time if you're relying on this 'service'. And they'd the cheek to strike!

I regularly get the 551 bus service on my way home to Lisburn from Moira. I didn't know they have changed the timetable by three minutes from 15:40 to 15:37. The bus driver was coming down main street, he seen me running, two seconds off the bus stop and he just drove on. The words, Ignorant & Jobs worth came to mind. Consideration for a regular customer ... Nill.I phoned up Translink complaints and she told me I only had 20 odd minutes to wait till the next bus???? The Timetable in the Moira bus halt still tells 3:40... In turn, I am so unsatisfied by this. Especially the Bus Drivers Ignorance. ... Each day I board and leave the bus I treat the driver courteously. From now on I'd guess I may be a bit more reserved. That was a big disappointment today. Very much.
Irish Rail tickets not honoured
NI Railway wouldn’t honour tickets bought from Irish Rail, because they hadn’t been printed in Dublin. There is no facility for printing IR tickets in Belfast. We therefore had to pay £66 for two single tickets, having already paid for Irish Rail tickets. The ticket attendant in Belfast seemed to take great pleasure in this - a smirky, sneering type who really shouldn’t have a customer-facing role.
A great service compared to GB trains.
Sounds as if people only use Trustpilot to complain but don't think of writing if happy with Translink. The service between Castlerock and Coleraine is excellent, regular as clockwork so that the time to catch the train towards Belfast or Londonderry is completely predictable. The carriages are comfortable. The views on the way to Coleraine and Derry are wonderful. The only reason not to give a 5* rating is because the carriage windows need a proper clean every day or two, all the more before the holidays when we have kids and tourists on board. And maybe Translink can think about how to electrify the motor units on all its trains, perhaps with solar panels on top and charging units while in stations? Finally, thank you to Translink staff who are generally friendly and helpful.
Dissatisfied travel experience
I am extremely disappointed with the railway services when myself and my family travelled from Newry to Dublin return. There were no seats available… why on earth would Translink sell tickets and no seating available? This is not only unsafe but also dangerous. A lot of people were blocking exits and sitting on floors throughout the carriages… this requires urgent attention and I would suggest this stops immediately for both passenger safety and comfort.
Additionally, the carriages were exceptionally warm and uncomfortable. The air condition was switched off and there was no air in the carriage.
After paying £75.00 to travel, sit on the floor in a sweltering carraige would not entice me to travel by NI railway anytime the near future.
