After the initial shock of finding out that First Tutors had abruptly terminated in early May, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the newly-formed "Tutorperch" had taken it upon themselves to reinstate all that was good about First Tutors in addition to making affordable improvements in functionality for both tutor and prospective tutee.
I sincerely hope that, in the coming weeks, for all parties concerned, there will be a seamless transition across to Tutorperch for experiened First Tutors' tutors, and that, with adequate safeguards in place, many new tutors will join what seems to be a promising venture.

As a tutor who had been working largely through the First Tutors platform for many years I was (like so many others) dismayed by the lack of alternatives once they closed. I was delighted to find that new initiatives such as Tutor Perch have been started and that they provide a similar model to the now closed First Tutors.
I am very happy to recommend this business if you are looking for new tuition opportunities without the very high commission of some agencies.

Robert has been fantastic and setting this up after FirstTutor closed down a few weeks ago after twenty years. Robert modelled TutorPerch on FirstTutors and this will be hugely helpful for all those tutors who were effectively left out of a platform.

An easy to use website to link students with tutors at minimal cost. A great replacement for the now defunct First Tutors.

Great experience as a tutor thus far! Particularly after the closure of First Tutors, Tutorperch staff have been great in their assistance alongside the website which is nice and user-friendly.

I'm a very experienced A Level English Literature tutor from the old First Tutors site, now on Tutorperch, which so far appears to have followed on and improved upon the old First Tutors model. They also assisted in getting my old F reviews back, which was much appreciated. So far, so excellent!

This website seems like a great replacement for FirstTutors. Everything seems well laid out and more modern looking than FT. Admin have been responsive in getting my profile (tutor) up and running on the site. £9.99 fee to connect tutee and tutor is amazing, unlike so many of the parasitic tutoring websites than skim a commission unnecessarily.

As a Mathematics tutor I have recently registered with Tutorperch. I am incredibly impressed with their team. They are very knowledgeable, approachable and, most importantly, kind and they respond to emails very quickly. Their IT people are amazing. I am so pleased that they were able to help me import my First Tutor Reviews onto their Tutorperch system. Their platform is very easy to use and I like their business model as it is fair and very considerate to both tutors and tutees.

Tutorperch is the best site to help parents find a tutor easily and it is much cheaper than other sites. It allows them to communicate before starting lessons and the site is easy to navigate.

A great new alternative to First Tutors, offering both tutors and tuition families the same commission free service! Easy sign up for the many professional tutors who have been disrupted by the sudden change in circumstances.

The process to sign up was straightforward and did not take too long to complete, leaving me with more time to devote to my students.

The people running the website know what they are doing! They even managed to retrieve some previous reiews which I thought had gone forever.

So.... my previous site First Tutors.com ghosted a us tutors for 15 days at onr of the busiest times of the year, and eventually came clean a d admitted they had ceases to exist..two very enterprising people decided to set up Tutorperch One is a tutor the other a techie.

So far, so good. I've had a lot of support from the techie who has even explained how to get back my data from First Tutors.

My profile is up and I feel confident for the first time in weeks that I can work again.

Great website. Many verified tutors and the company check DBS and credibility of the tutors to ensure quality and safety of students.

Well-organised company. The sign up was easy, professional and with much needed safety checks regarding identity check and DBS (safeguarding) checks. The admin support was friendly, speedy and helpful. The website profile looks great. I've not had any sign ups from potential customers just yet but I'm very happy with the service otherwise.

This is a much-needed service. After the abrupt closer of First Tutors, myself and many other tutors were suddenly effectively out of a job. Tutor Perch have rapidly filled in the gap with an incredibly profressional website. Setting up the account was simple and quick. On top of this, the review import tool salvaged the majority of my old First Tutors reviews in a process that took very little effort from me. I completely recommend any other tutors looking for a replacement to First Tutors.

This looks like a wonderful new group for both teachers and students; they have been very efficient in engaging with me as a freelance teacher. I used to work for First Tutors which closed suddenly and I am very grateful that Tutorperch decided to start a new agency where they only charge the students a one off small fee to get in touch with tutors. They don't add a fee of 25% to each lesson like all the other agencies; in this way the costs for lessons are a lot more affordable. This agency deserves a lot of success.
