From the first contact when we were deciding on our itinerary until after we returned home UME was exceptional. Felix has been excellent throughout. Helping us tailor our trip and organising accommodation and guides he ensured everything went smoothly and was in regular contact to check on how we were going and confirming events and times of each day’s activities. We could not recommend UME more highly and we will definitely use their services again.

My experience with UME travel was incredible from start to finish. I remember reaching out for the first time and being connected to travel consultant Carrie Tang. She helped accommodate each activity I mentioned and included every detail. She also checked up on me during my trip to make sure I was enjoying everything.
Carrie selected the best team to help me and my family navigate our first time ever in Japan. In Tokyo we were shown around by Kyle and John. These two were amazing, they made each day super fun and had the most patience and understanding for us. They helped accommodate our schedule when we needed more time and even helped us with activities outside of our planned itinerary.
In Kyoto to Osaka we were shown around by Bruce and Gary. Bruce was honestly one of the best people I have met overall, I think he truly elevated my trip / experience. He had the best vibes, he is super fun and just being around him boosts your spirits! Gary was one of the most informative people that I’ve met, he had so much information to share. I love learning stuff on trips, that’s the best part!
Lastly in Kumamoto we were shown around by Johnny and our driver! Johnny was great even though we only had him for 2 days! He made it so comfortable for us to reach out and to talk to him from the very start. He is super helpful!

Overall, my family and I had the best experience and best time during our first time to Japan. Everything was worth every penny. I highly recommend using this agency, they are top notch.

First off, customer service A++. I could call or text virtually any time and get an answer or a response within an hour. Felix was absolutely amazing from day one. Secondly, my travel agent, Felix, super helpful, friendly, and always helped get the best deals. While on my trip, everything was perfectly handled. No stress whatsoever. I am planning to book my next trip with them already.

Our group of eight family members and friends were well catered for from the planning stage to the actual travel. We enjoyed ourselves on our ten days in Hokkaido and I for one can do it again.
Our accommodations were really great and comfortable.
We were well looked after by our helpful and friendly guide Clifford and our driver Robin. Nothing was too much for them.

I just concluded a trip on May 04 2026 with Lan Lui from Ume Travel who crafted a 5 Country tour/22 day tour that included Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket), Hong Kong and Seoul. She displayed her 5 Star Qualities in the way she listened, adjusted, adapted to create a Truly Magnificent Tour. She was with us along the whole Trip highlighting her compassionate nature when my wife needed medical help. I have been travelling for over 50 year and Lan is the best travel agent and more so a caring human being that is a great asset to Ume Travel and a lifelong friend. Thank you Lan.

our experience and expectations were great, our tour guide Mon Chai is excellent, has a lot of knowledge about the country, very helpful, very gentleman. Only good things to say about Mon Chai.
the tour in Bangkok and around the city was very good. the food was delicious. Mon gave us to try a lot of local food. It was delicious.

My UME travel agent, Ivan, is very responsive and professional. He replied to my questions promptly and anticipated my needs. He helped me to remember what I needed to do to complete my plans for transportation before and after my tour. He made sure that I had the itinerary, tour guide and driver information before the tour started. Our guide Clifford was professional and helpful. Clifford understood our physical limitations and planned our activities accordingly. He always made us aware of climate and terrain so that we knew what expected. He gave us choices whenever it was practical to shift our activities. Our driver Mr. Sato was a professional from beginning to end. Clifford and Mr. Sato were always early, we never had to wait for them. They always put our safety and comfort first. We saw some wonderful sights and had fun together.

Lan and Ume Travel helped us organize a two week trip in Japan which included Tokyo, Hakone, Sapporo, Osaka and Kyoto (plus all the side day trips from these places). The overall booking process was extremely supportive and customized. Lan was great in helping with the itinerary get setup, providing guidance and feedback, and checking in on us while we're there. My son injured his knee just before we left and had difficulty walking. They organized a wheelchair at no extra cost in case we needed. Because we were able to have a customized itinerary, we saw a lot in two weeks that would not have happened in Japan .

Most things were generally smooth but with minor hiccups that aren't worth fussing over. I would reuse them again for booking customized tours in Asia.

Our recent visit to Japan was life-altering, impactful, fun and completely without worry or stress, thanks to UME. They kept their word and were always there for us. Drivers showed up on time. Our personal guides felt like close friends by the time we finished. They answered every question we had, and not just questions about the tourist attractions. Our guides helped us understand the people and culture of Japan.

The trip was well planned and we saw a lot of interesting sights in Tokyo and Seoul. The drivers and guides were courteous and polite, and always on time. Without the help of UME Travel, we wouldn’t have experienced so much of Japan and Korea. I’m making an inquiry with UME on a trip to Singapore.

I was planning a trip for my 82 year old Mom and myself to travel to Japan, which had been a dream of hers for a long time. I was nervous and wasn't sure where to start. Dealing with UME was very positive because of our advisor Lan Liu who did a fantastic job with the itinerary on our trip to Japan. Lan was prompt and detailed in all aspects of our trip, from the initial contact to our last day plans.

From the moment we reached out to UME travel we knew this was the travel planning company we wanted to entrust our travel planning to. Dan we extremely efficient in his replies and was detailed down to the smallest requests we made. We are a family of 7 travelling from Canada, ages 11 to 73 years old. We wanted to take a 10 day Family tour of Japan Over Easter 2026. I looked into a number of companies with family-friendly itineraries. We decided on UME after reading positive reviews of this company, and I thought their private tours were priced similarly to other large group tours I had seen. We also customized our itinerary based on our interests. I highly recommend UME and will not hesitate to use them for another trip in the future. First, they were extremely communicative. Lan Liu helped customize our itinerary and offered excellent advice. We communicated back and forth using WhatsApp and that was very easy! She was even checking in with us during our trip. Second, there were no surprises on this trip- everything was perfectly organized and everything went very smoothly and as expected!! We had a fabulous time!! We enjoyed our English speaking guides and our drivers were excellent. Having a private van drive us everywhere was so nice as well- especially when we could leave our bags in the van when we were on the move. Overall, do not hesitate to book with UME (and Lan). The tour guide John Ng was amazing! He exceeded all expectations and went above and beyond on all of the days that he was with us. He made sure to take group photos of us at all of our stops, along with candid photos and videos. He knew to keep our group on a certain pace so that we could enjoy each site without taking away time from the next destination. Each morning, he provided a brief update on the weather for the day and what sites we were planning to visit. For almost every meal, if he was with us in the restaurant, he made sure that all of our orders were to our liking and satisfaction. John made our first trip to Japan that much more memorable. We would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Japan!
Lan Liu also made sure that our trip and tour was going well, following up with us pretty much every day to see how things were going. Lan was also very flexible with us during the initial process while we were modifying and finalizing our initinerary.

Before booking our family trip to Thailand and Bali with UME, I considered two other agencies as references. From the start, UME Travel and its advisor, Dan Li, impressed me as highly capable and attentive. He responded promptly to all my questions, addressed my concerns, and offered various options for our itinerary. We wanted a blend of culture, history, adventure, and two full days (two nights) at the beach. The key was to find activities that would be enjoyable and engaging for an active 10-year-old. All these aspects were covered, and I appreciated Dan's quick responses at every step.

The strong partnership persisted throughout the trip, especially when things went slightly awry, which I consider the best indicator of a company's true value. We started in Thailand, and that segment went as smoothly as possible. Our local guide, Tanny L., with whom we immediately connected, and the private driver were both outstanding. Everything—from hotels, transportation, airport pickups and drop-offs, food, activities, and sites visited—was excellent, making the experience enjoyable.

When we traveled to Bali, Indonesia, we encountered a minor issue with our hotel bed arrangement. However, it was swiftly fixed to our complete satisfaction. The problem stemmed from a clerical error in the paperwork issued by the local agent, not negligence. I contacted Dan Li at UME, who responded within minutes and resolved the issue promptly. Additionally, the hotel staff were very cooperative and made us feel welcome.

Our second challenge after arriving in Bali was quite sensitive. Our airport pickup guide was friendly and professional, but my 10-year-old grandson and his mom couldn't understand his English, as it’s also a second language for them. I apologize to our initial guide for having to make that request, as his conduct was otherwise appropriate. When I spoke with Dan Li, I asked if a different guide could be assigned, and he handled this request. The next morning, we met our new guide, Puja, and the rest of our trip in Bali went smoothly. I am unsure if "Puja" is the correct spelling of his name.

We thoroughly enjoyed both Thailand and Bali and plan to choose UME Travel for our upcoming trips. They are an excellent agency that truly understands how to create a memorable travel experience and handle any issues that may occur. Thanks to the excellent support from travel agent Dan Li, we never felt alone or neglected. We appreciate your effort and dedication in organizing our trip.

The only change I would make to this trip is the location of our second hotel in Bali. Amnaya Resort Nusa Dua is a nice hotel, but I would prefer one closer to a sandy beach. I take responsibility for this mistake; I should have researched the hotel's location more thoroughly.
