My son has worked through many resources over the years. He is most impressed with Unlock Math! The trial offered is very helpful!

I was very happy with this program. My ADHD son struggled with it, but it was no fault of the program. My one comment would be if the woman in the videos talked just a bit slower when explaining the concepts. The price point was amazing. The staff was extremely helpful when I had questions and always responded within 30 minutes. The layout was simplistic and not cluttered like others. Overall excellent program for homeschool.

We did the trial for my 13yo daughter. She was getting upset everyday with her old online curriculum and has really liked the change to Unlock Math. She likes the video lessons and the amount of review and new problem questions. Although they tend to learn a bit differently, I am going to try it for my son as well since his curriculum ends after his current grade.

I love the spiral review, so kids don’t forget what they learned. Some of the lessons are so quick, they don’t show a step, and just get to the answer. I’d love to see the video whiteboard show all the steps.

I chose Unlock Math specifically for my visual learner. I'm hoping the video with clear explanations, enough practice, and spiral revision will help him to remember his math better.

It has a very simplistic daily 'routine' of exercises, which is numbered 1 to 5. Each number has a couple sums to do (max.10), with number 1 being the Warm up, and number 5 being the "Challenge sum" of the day. In between are practice exercises and revision of previously learned work. My visual learner liked that it is the same routine everyday. No chop-n-changing going on.

After every 2-3 lessons there is a quick quiz, and at the end of each unit there is a unit test. There is also a mid-term test, as well as end of year test. Thus easy for homeschool parents to get marks/grading.

There is also an option to unlock the next math sections only if your child reaches a certain % of sums correctly done. I also received an end of week report via email, as summary of the work both boys have done.

The programme itself is easy to use, easy to set up accounts for your kids, and almost self-explanatory for the kids. With every sum they do, there is a link to an explanation if the child gets stuck. So far both my boys are happy with it, saying it is more orderly and easy to follow than the previous programme they used. They are both using the Integrated Math options.

The only thing I've had to do was show my visual learner how to use the video to make his own very colourful notes and draw images of the math problems (where applicable) to help him remember, as the videos can be a little 'dull' at times (for him).

Our daughter began to struggle in math because each year there were skills she wasn't fully comprehending and the deficits were gradually piling up. Finally it got to the point where she hated math and was so discouraged that she began to believe she couldn't go to college because of her math struggles. Enter Unlock Math. After switching to Unlock Math as a last ditch effort she finally turned the corner. She gained so much confidence as she began to fully understand the skills that she had struggled with previously. She loved the format and is now in her first semester of community college, studying to be a nurse. I truly don't think she would be where she is without the skills and confidence she gained through Unlock Math. The only hard part is that this is a rather pricey program which might make it out of reach for some families - especially if you have multiple students. But for us the cost was 100% worth it!

Easy to use and a hands off approach for parents giving the child the ability to feel and be independent in their studies

After years of struggle by teen is doing math 100% on her own. No more tears! I do wish the help chat was more of a live online tutoring room though. That would make it perfect!

Great Program! It is well brokendown for the student yet thorough and easy for the teacher/parent as well. Both of my teens struggled with math programs but Unlocked Math has helped tremendously.

I have younger children to educate and I needed my middle school aged daughter to have the ability to accomplish her math without my constant input. I did a lot of research and tried out several well known programs. Unlock math consistently came out on top. If she has to redo a section, it gives her whole new set of problems instead of the same problems, which I had heard from other parents caused kids to have correct answers by writing down without any understanding like TT. The teaching videos explain not only how to do the math, but also why, unlike CTC. There are 10 good review questions at the beginning, 10 questions after a lesson, and a bonus challenge question, it's not drill and kill like Saxon. You can set the grade that you expect for them to have to make in order to move on, I have hers at 80%. She mistypes things in sometimes and that offers a little bit of grace. Her current grade is just a bit above 90% because that's where she likes to keep it. I don't feel I need to change things. If she's doing the unit review before the quizzes and forgets a concept, there's a video to click that takes you directly to that lesson above the question. She can easily brush up on and remember how to complete a problem. I think she has asked for my assistance only two or three times in the past 2 years. I also know that if I couldn't answer the question, they have set up the ability to chat and lead her through it or to call in. She's learning a lot and enjoys it. It's been a great program for us. We plan on using it all the way up through precalculus and using it with her younger brothers.

My daughter feels like it's confusing. I'm looking for a Math tutoring who could help her through the program.

The Finance course was too heavy on formulas and too light on content. I realized my daughter was just using the formulas as described, "algorithmically", but not gaining any knowledge of why they mattered, how finance actually works, and really couldn't apply any of what she "learned" to real life. Each lesson needs to basically double in length and go much deeper into the concepts and principles behind the formulas. There should be quizzes on the new vocab. I just thought it would be a more complete Finance course. Maybe that was my mistake, but it's solely, 'here's 10,000 formulas used in finance, can you do the math?' We quit not even halfway through and moved on to Stats, which was an unfortunate waste of money, but that's how it goes sometimes.

Unlock Math has excellent customer service. I feel that the programs are very thorough, give abundant but not too much practice, and are fairly easy for students to navigate.

The lessons are easy to follow and I find the weekly reports of test scores very helpful in assessing my child's progress.

The only math program that worked for four of my children with different abilities, from struggling learners to gifted. Two of them are in college now with full ride scholarships- due to a high math score in the SAT test. It’s a challenging, college preparatory math program ( definitely “honors”) but the videos are concise yet comprehensive, making math easy to understand. Plus, if the student struggles, there is always support literally at the student’s fingertips through the online instant tutoring which is included in the subscription. Outstanding support and customer service – they're always there to assist whenever needed. Highly recommended!
