I’m astounded that a service being offered to support victims of crime is perpetuating harm in the way that they are. I’ve just had a frustrating and disappointing experience of being gaslit b... Voir plus

Totally useless
Make a report, missed their call, called back and told that I didn't make a report and were rude and insulting. What an utter disgrace.
It's been said by those giving 1 star!
It's been said by those giving 1 star!
They talk the talk but don't walk the walk! I'm surprised to find so many people in desperate need and not getting the support Victims Support say they will give and people deserve! I'm still waiting for the Victims Support to ring, as they said they would! I hope I've not already written a review, my head is in turmoil - what to do! I contacted them on 9th December, I've had 2 calls since then, still got no where! We'll call you back!
Absolutely awful victim blaming company
Absolutely awful. I've been waiting for over a year for victim support and have heard nothing. I pulled my finger out this week to get in touch. Tried and was given excuses, gatekeeped, blamed and then ultimately told that they don't care.
I'm still living next door to my abuser and nothing has changed. I haven't received any help.
Be aware, they don't care.
Saying they will ring me back and no…
Saying they will ring me back and no reply so I texted the number and they just read my message to ask with they can ring me bloody useless
Dreadful disastrous deplorable dire.
Dreadful . Referred by police to be contacted which took two weeks. Then told about all the services that may be able to help me -citizens advice-i.o.p.c. - police professional standards which is ironic ,I thought the clue was in the name. Victim support!? I need/requested help from them but they appeared like a referral service . Talked in vague evasive broad terms of "policy" and "help" and "assessment" and "support" but then asked me what support do you want?! Perhaps first they could explain what they can offer !? Apparently Emotional support but , not from trained councillors or therapist just laypeople. "laypeople" i had to explain what that meant, to them, which did not fill me with confidence . So no real support to be had at all. This "victim support is nothing more than a "there there, it will all be ok" lending ear with an inbuilt patronising direction to other overly busy authorities that cannot help in under 6 months. Suffering close proximity threats and violence ? Its a referral to police and "its a housing matter, perhaps the council can help"?!. Assaulted and beaten to a pulp and you cannot connect with the o.i.c to update or offer further evidence its a case of "sorry there's nothing we can do to get the police to correspond with you". I am a vulnerable adult (disabled) afraid for my safety after the latest beating from those arrested who live in close proximity. "Perhaps social services can help"?! WOW ,!!! if I could get help (which i already tried to) why would I be ringing you??!!! "I'm sorry there's NOTHING WE CAN REALLY DO". That is a direct quote and NOT something you would expect to hear from A VICTIM SUPPORT service . Look people, forget this waste of space , use your common sense to deal with your issues and do not bother with this template rehearsed, practiced, monotone, monologues, these politically correct, virtue signalling wannabes have to offer. They are useless -an exercise in futility and frustrating catch phrases, We want to help means we may want to but we cannot. We will assess the situation is a way of saying honestly we will take some notes and use "assess" as a word to instil confidence , -it doesn't . We will structure a suitable course of action , More verbal clap trap that means ,when we finally convinced you we are trying , we will then tell you we have exhausted all our authority (which is nil) and send you somewhere else that cannot help. This "VICTIM SUPPORT" is what should plainly be called a useless crock of sh** -or their polished politicians description of a "platform that achieves as much as it started with". Another way of saying it does nothing and nobody any good. A charitable organisation to puff the egos of the failures that call themselves trained operatives by colluding in the delusion they are helpers to the masses . Please !! stop with the puritan righteous sanctimonious drivel you call assistance to those in need and call it what everyone thinks it- A DISASTEROUS attempt at helping . So speak the revues for themselves.
Lastly VICTIM SUPPORT spare me the rehearsed and practiced and patronising response . Save yourself the embarrassment of your ability to spin an answer and to contrive a defence with a twist that weakly supports your failures .Keep your petulant answers and refrain from the effort it will take to conjure up a text book answer a politician would be proud of, which uses nothing more than a slant or a take on the facts that would have you believing it is your saving grace . It will not .Nothing you can say however planned and patronising it would be, will take away from the fact that victim support is a WASTE OF TIME. So again I repeat ssshhh, stop, and don't embarrass yourselves any further . I will however assume in your narcissistic arrogance you will respond but I can assure you it will achieve nothing but enforce the humour I found in your failings from start to finish on every level.
A waste of time as was referred to them…
A waste of time as was referred to them a few times by the police when suffering from anti-social behavior from teens. They ring up to say they provide emotional support but cannot get off the phone quick enough, especially if you got mental health issues anyway. Point blank refused to write a simple letter of support in terms of my social housing transfer. To me it seems a lot of these so called Support organisations just get paid for data collection.
Not a good experience
Police sent them as I had been duped at the door, for taxi money to see son at hospital by a young lady with a toddler in pram. The unfriendly man that came was similar age of late 50s rather bluntly told me off and shamed me in saying, I should know better and why didn't I give money to my daughter! My grandson has a condition that sees him at hospital a lot, so I gave this 'scammer' the benefit of the doubt. No need for this patronising, lecture. They do some good work friends have said, but my experience was not. Sorry
A whole range of services
Victim Support is both a pleasure to work for and also receive services from due to the vast range of services they provide to their service users.
Their statements and support are always powerful and I’ve felt in safer hands when utilising them. A lot of people aren’t aware of just how much support they can give as well.
Terrible
Terrible, absolutely pointless. wanted to know about an ex husband from a year back, but didn't want to know about the car theft or multiple thefts I had or the home invasion my neighbour had. Disgusting.
