Vivint Solar Avis 

We've had solar panels installed in 2017 by Vivint. The first week of installation we had our FIRST roof leak. They fixed it but that was the beginning of the many problems. Multiple roof leaks. One of the solar panels pulled up off our rafter and caused so much damage to our home. First, Vivint sent out a roofer who told us they would fix the damage but then sent another roofer out who then turned around and said they weren't repairing the damage because the roof wasn't installed properly. Now remember I never had a problem with my roof until they were installed. Even though Vivint says they we take care of the panels and damage they might cause that simply isn't true. NOW 2021 I need a whole new roof and all the companies that have come out to give us estimates ask, "WHY WERE SOLAR PANELS INSTALLED ON AN OLD ROOF? So 4 very long years later I need to new roof and VIVINT IS CHARGING US $6400 for removal and storage of the panels. This doesn't include a new roof. Very dishonest and not a good way to treat anyone.

Do not do it! It is a scam! You will sign your life away!
Vivint Solar (also called SunRun) is a company that will woo you into thinking they are customer-oriented, responsive, and helpful. Their sales-team is on the ball, ready to get you to sign their contract. When they talk you through the contract, it looks like a win-win situation. This is what they tout: "No up front cost! You pay less per kwh than your local utility company! It's a win-win for the environment and for your utility bill!" I was so ready to do my part for the fight against climate change and start using solar energy, plus get a huge discount on my bill, but I did not read the fine print of the contract. You will sign your life away by signing this contract! Do not do it! Once you have signed their contract and the solar panels are on your roof, they forget about you. . Customer service is unreliable and unable to do anything for you. Managers are unhelpful and never call you back. They use stall tactics. Here is the reality: 1) Your utility bill does NOT go down. It goes UP. Read the fine print! You have to pay for all of the energy your solar panels PRODUCE. Not the energy that you CONSUME. So, if you live in a sunny climate, your panels are going to be constantly producing energy. You will PAY for this energy! Even if you are away on a trip, not using any energy. It's not what you consume, it's what the panels produce! 2) They say they will never place a lien on your home. Guess what? They not only placed a lien on my home, they placed TWO liens on my home! 3) You have to pay them for 20 years! And every year you will see a 2.9% increase. Which is way higher than any increase you will see from your local utility company. Eventually, you are going to be paying through the roof for leasing those solar panels from Vivint. 4) Your roof needs repairing? Forget it. This is where their customer service starts to fail miserably. You need to give them at least 30 days notice. You have to pay a fee to remove and reinstall the panels. You can never get a hold of them. Never mind if your roof is leaking. 5) If you move these are your options: a-you can transfer the system to the new homeowner, b-you can take the system with you, at your own expense and provided that your new home is located within their service territory AND where the sun exposure is not less than your current property, c-you can buy the system from them, whatever the price that they set! Bottom line, don't do it!

THEY ARE LIARS AND CROOKS

I had solar panels on the front side of my roof in 2015,and 3 years later was recommended to get panels on the backside of house to save more money(completely false). Now im having leakage on the backside of my house,and they sent out a tech and THEY said its not caused by their panels,its caused by the flashing on the chimney,with is also false I had my chimney inspected,and I had a professional roofer come check out my roof,and its being caused by a one of the screws that went right through my roof of the panels mount when they installed it.vivint is refusing to fix it,and not willing to waive the fee's to have panels removed to replace my roof that clearly isnt caused by chimney.. this company is charging $499 for front and $1650 for backside!!! Total rip off and the worst agreement i have ever done!!! I have started to take legal actions and sent over the contracts,and the roofers statements and photos to my attorney to help me with this problems. I am going to fight to have these panels permanently removed,and recommend anyone NOT to invest in vivint sloar, they are a rip off and you do not save any money,you will deal with headaches for the next 20yrs,if you decide to sign up with them.i am not the only customer going through this,so please look elsewhere!!! Im warning you, do research on this company and save yourself the headaches..I live in the Springfield area in Massachusetts.

Had my security unit installed for my business wow horrible company to deal with mislead about a contract stay awayfrom Vivint

We have had Vivint Solar for a few years now and been very happy with everything from the consultation, installation and system maintenance. We were notified about a potential issue about 6 weeks ago and someone came to our home and checked to be sure our system was working efficiently. We had gotten a new router and didn't realize we should have notified Vivint. Great that they noticed something not right on their end and notified us immediately.

System is performing and saving on power costs.I did not install a total power consumption replacement, but a system that handles the LOAD during the day, reducing the high cost electric.

The only 2 issues I have had were with communication of solar system to the monitoring center that was initially performed with connecting to my wifi. As additional technology options became available, a new module in the control panel was installed that uses cellular as the connection to the monitoring center. Future problems are avoided and removes an entry point to my network - Thank you! I am a retired IT Security Specialist... :)

Vivint is good, just wish they already had a battery solar storage, for electricity I don't use at the end of the month.

I’ve been a Vivint Solar customer for several years. The installation was seamless and the ongoing service has been great. I save so much in energy costs. I’m glad I made the decision to have Vivint install the Solar Panels.

It took over a year to finish putting up animal guard the service tech where good just the people that schedule the job goofed up

Have nothing but positive comments to relate about my experience with Vivint during and after the installation. I've had the system for over 3 years now and have no regrets. Continually recommend to others. It's such a no brainer in my opinion I just don't know why more people have solar panels.

A lot of savings, and the most important item: CLEAN ENERGY

Okay is the best I can say. Your sales and referral system leave a bunch to be desired. The billing notice should reflect KW’s produced, $/¢ rate per and total.

Best $ spent! And I tried to run the sales guy away!! At first!

It has been 3 weeks that we have been trying to get our issue resolved with Vivint Solar. We have multiple leaks in our roof and need our system removed in order to get our roof replaced. It has been nothing but being on hold for hours and told they would call back which never happens. We have been given the run around and they have refused to give us a supervisor to speak with. They keep blaming covid-19 but they are essential workers and they are the only solar company that fir-load their employees. We have had third party companies offer to remove the panels but Vivint will not pay them for the work. Bottom line, they loose money removing and reinstalling the panels while our house gets damaged. This is unacceptable and a breach of contract! If you read other reviews this was an issue before covid-19 with Vivint Solar.

One of the things that were important to us was service AFTER the sale. Vivint says you must have a broadband connection because the system is being constantly monitored, and they will call YOU if there's an issue.
Our system was down for a week before I discovered it myself. Now they say it is our responsibility to manage our system! Also, the tech that came out said there are only TWO SERVICE TECHS for the entire state of Utah!
What happens the next time there's a hail, wind or lightening storm?
They also say that everyone that comes to the home is a Vivint Employee and they don't sub-contract. Which means if there is a hail or wind storm, it will be months (or years!) until they can get around to fixing my system.
They misled us throughout the process.
Actually, I should say ‘we’ as I was a Vivint Solar Salesman! I was trained to tell customers things that I knew were untrue.

I will break this down into days.
Day 1: They came out to install the panels, did not go over the plan with me and put the panels on a different side of the house from which I was told. They did not finish and told me they would come back in a week.
Day 2 (week later): No one shows up, no one answers my calls, no one returns my messages. I had to call my sales person to get a contact number for anyone.
Day 3 (the next week): The crew shows up to finish the job, but they were never told they were moving panels. They thought they were putting in a fresh install, so nothing was done.
Day 4 (another week later): the job is finally finished.
Day 5: (two weeks later): No one shows up for my inspection for which I was told I had to be home for so I took a day off work. Once again, no one answers my calls or returns my phone calls.

At this point I started working with someone else from Vivant to get my roof fixed. Each time I called, I was told they were out or on another line and they would call me back. If I got called back it was days, if not weeks, later. After 6 weeks, my roof was fixed, but I didn't know it. No one notified me they would be working on my roof. They came and went while I was at work and it wasn't until I called them a week later for an update did they tell me the job was done.

We are now at 3 months after the initial attempt to install my panels. I call to ask about my inspections. I was told the initial inspection failed (funny because no one ever showed up to the inspection) and the paper work had to be resubmitted to the Village. Was this done right away? No it was done two months later. Then I had to wait a month for it to get approved and, once again, I was the one who had to call to check up on it. We are now four months from the initial install and Vivant is still using the wrong contact number even thought I have called and changed it three times. They have scheduled an inspection that they claim I have to be home for, but didn't check with me. So someone is coming to my house today, but I won't be there.
The customer service is absolutely terrible, and if I have to take off one more day of work for my panels it will be to take them down.
