Really liked the idea of not having to think about waxing my board every time. Unfortunately, after giving their grip a fair shot, I still had to use wax to get any real traction.

I reached out for support, initially, the replies were friendly promised to help me out. But as soon as it became clear I wasn’t satisfied, communication dried up. Multiple follow-ups I was just beeing ignored.

It’s ironic how they talk a lot about community, respect, and standing behind their product, but in practice, Its more like youre just another customer being ghosted after the sale. If you value real support and a company that stands by its promises, I’d think twice.

Zur Lieferung: Sehr schnell, per Express/Einschreiben, das ist echt Klasse. Ich habe bereits bei meinen "Light REV Carbon Frame 6'4 " die Pads gekauft (da zum ersten mal), war anfangs etwas skeptisch aber die haben gut funktioniert. Die Pads haben viele Vorteile, dadurch dass ich kein Wax mehr benutze klebt der ganze Quatsch nicht mehr an meinem Neopren oder meinen Klamotten. Nach dem Surfen halt ich mein Board unter die Dusche und der ganze Sand ist weg. Normalerweise klebt der im Wax und wird überall hin mitgenommen. Negativ, wobei ich das nur im Ersten Moment so empfunden habe, das Gefühl/Feeling an den Füßen ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, hat man sich aber schnell dran gewöhnt. Mein anderes Board "Lost Puddle Fish 5'6" " hat auch gleich welche verpasst bekommen.

Spent a morning and evening de-waxing the board and applying the stickers

Took it out in the bay and it was more slippery than a bar of soap. I literally couldn’t sit on the board or turn it without slipping off.

Got out and grabbed a board with proper wax on

This productive literally doesn’t achieve its sole objective of being sticky on the deck of a surf board. I could have gone down to screw fix and bought any selection of random tape and got better traction

Van de Waal’s grip came fast in a very nice package. Well done.
I have tried the grip in my board for several days. In my feet, I thought it was OK. However, if felt is slippery when surfing with a t-shirt. I also felt it a little slippery when sitting on the board with my trunk, but not with the wetsuit.
I have asked my son, daughter and wife to test my board and they also felt the same.
I hope this technology will evolve because it has the power to make our surfing life easier.

Van Der Waal surfboard grip. I surf in in the USA New England area, I'm an ok surfer, no big cut backs or air, just like to ride the line. I ride a 7'4" Torq fun board. I used my GoPro on the nose of the board to locate where I place my hands and feet for the placement of the grip pads. I've been out twice both 3'-4' waves, water temp 52 degrees air 55 degrees in a 3/2 wet suit, one day with booties and one bare feet and I'm here to say I did not slip once, honestly I thought there is no difference between wax and this grip. It is absolutely amazing!!!
I highly recommend Van Der Waal Surfboard grip.
