For £25 each unfortunately this was the biggest waste of money … I was in and out in less than an hour and that was walking from the car park, getting in walking round twice and walking back to the car … 🙁

Avoid paying for this event at all costs. They did not announce a guests cancellation, and constantly fob you off with delays on refunds to try and drag out the time to make sure you don't just do a bank charge back, they will not refund money, so just stay away from them .
They advertised that a guest would be attending, and at no point thought to announce the guest's cancellation. They even continued to advertise the guest on their website until the night before the event. I drove for hours to attend, only to find out that the guest wasn't going to be there. I've been pushing for a refund for months and have got nowhere.
Bad experience from here! The Venue with small the guest stars were all people you would have never heard of before charging at extortionate prices for an autograph and the mini little shops around the Comic Con was selling Pokémon cards and other things at extortionate prices. I tried to buy a tiny little pokeball that apparently only cost £1 and since I didn't have cash on me I decided to use card my guy said it's five pound if you want to buy it with your card are you dizzy blud!! The only good thing I can say about this Comic Con was some of the things that were on display were pretty cool and that was about it don't waste your time going here there's probably better comic cons you could go to!!!!
We recently attended Wales Comic Con as a trader, and unfortunately the whole experience was extremely disappointing. When we arrived, there was no one to greet or guide us—we had to go looking for a member of staff ourselves. When we finally found someone, our names weren’t even on the trader list. That member of staff walked us around for about half an hour before eventually shrugging and offering us a random table outside on the grass, on a slope. As my husband is disabled, and because we’d paid specifically for an indoor hard-standing pitch, this was completely unsuitable. Our products are handmade prints on paper, so dampness would have ruined them.
The staff member seemed irritated when I refused the outdoor table, and eventually had other staff drag a table over to the “artist alley” section instead. This was a narrow metal walkway, directly in front of a large metal pole, with a leak dripping right above our stall. We had no choice but to accept it, even though it wasn’t what we paid for. We’d booked and paid for an indoor table with backing space, which couldn’t even fit in that area. To make things worse, the artist alley tables were much cheaper than what we’d been charged. The placement of stalls on this walkway made acccessability imposible for some disabled attendees. When this issue was brought up, the responce was "Not everyone will want to go to artist alley anyway, so they just wont be able to go there". Dismissing people with mobility issues, refusing them access to an area of the event they paid to be at is utterly disgraceful, but to do so in such a cold and disinterested manner is sickening.
We complained about the leak eight separate times, but every time we were met with shrugs and disinterest. Other stallholders had similar issues too—people not being on the list, being put in unsuitable spaces, even one vendor being offered a table which was blocking a fire exit. Everyone we spoke to confirmed that organisers were not checking for public liability insurance, which is extremely concerning. The only time organisers seemed interested in speaking to us was when it became clear that traders were going to file an official complaint, and even then it was only to try to find out who was leading it.
The venue itself was poorly described beforehand. It was half indoors and half under a large awning structure, which we hadn’t been made aware of. On the first day it rained heavily, the 'stage' area of the event was under a tent like structure outwide, with no walls. This swiftly flooded and became unusable.. On the second day, although it was dry, the ground under the awning was grass and dirt, and with the wrestling ring kicking up dust, it became very dusty, an avoidable issue had there been any forethought into the layout and planning. In total, due to bad planning and disinterest in our issues with the leak, we lost hundreds of pounds worth of stock.
Wales Comic Con has always been known for being poorly organised and managed. Since speaking with other traders from across the community, we have learned that the company has mistreated staff and guests in unacceptable ways, and continuously lies about attendance figures, guest appearances, and what’s actually on offer.
Our complaints are not about the weather. They are about the fact that it was raining inside the venue, that the organisation was unprofessional and dismissive, and that the whole setup made the event stressful and unpleasant. For the money we paid, we expected basic professionalism, accessibility, and the facilities we were promised. None of that was delivered.
Guests cancelled day before with no announcement. 4 hours of travelling and stay at hotel wasted. Got an email on the 8th of October to say refunds are being processed and should be done within 10 days, it’s now the 31st of October and I am still waiting. Absolute scam of a company
They cancel the big guests at the last minute and don't give refunds. You have been warned!! I contacted bank for a fraud claim.
The company is ran by a complete scam artist. He doesn't refund any cancellations. Ignores your messages and blocks you if you put anything on the social media. Have been reported to trading standards and struck off and then re opened under a new name. Disgusting behaviour. No security checks at the event either. False advertisement of guests they aren't paying the flights and accommodation for! Avoid at all costs!
Actors cancel, but comic con do not release the information till the last minute. No refunds which is a joke after having paid for VIP. £700 down the drain including travel and hotel costs. Just not good enough. We Will not be attending and one very upset teenager.
They never actually put plans in place for a guest which I paid for to attend. They announced (only on social media) the day before the event that the guest is no longer coming (this is due to them not organising flights and accommodation). I’ve sent countless emails, even had 2 messages asking for more details of my refund and they’ve ignored me since. Ive been waiting 6 months, avoid this event at all cost, total scammers!
Please avoid this at all costs. Horrific customer service. They’ll take your money for guests, then not announce cancellations, not refund you or acknowledge any emails or messages. I had to go through my bank and issue two complaints via trading standards. The event wasn’t anything special either. Awful. Unethical, money hungry scammers.
IF i could give a zero I would. This is an unethical company. They take money easily enough but when guests cancel (which happens far too frequently) their practise is to ignore the customers requests for a refund( emails, facebook, twitter) despite assuring
customers on their website that cancellations will be refunded. If you are
waiting for a refund dont wait for a reply. You wont get one. Go to your banks asap
and force refund This company cannot
be trusted....
..
Booked a few guests for their convention in November 2023. I left booking them until late, as I know that Telford Con is a little infamous for announcing guest cancellations super late(often on the day).
One of the guests Id booked cancelled 3 days before the event. They didnt announce the cancellation, and instead just quietly put it under their cancelled guest list on the website(they usually announce cancellations).
Its now 2 months later and I've recieved no refund for the cancelled guest. Ive tried contacting them multiple times, either via email or their facebook page. Each message goes ignored.
I wont be using this company again....this whole time theyve been busy announcing their new events and it seems like theres still a ton of people waiting for refunds from their previous event.
Avoid these guys. The guests attending arent worth the stress. Find them elsewhere.
Avoid at all costs, took my money for guest who they said would be there but wasn't, once they have your money they don't care , totally ignore you and steal your money.
Not providing a service you sold somebody is surely against consumer laws but they don't care.
Why would anyone risk going to their events. SCAMMERS.
No refunds given for guests who have cancelled. No communication when written to via email, social media and contact form on the website. Waited 5 weeks so far and still no response. I was blocked on social media when asking about being refunded. They are scam artists!
Stay clear of this organiser that arranges this event. They have just announced they are moving venues to Birmingham. They do not give refunds back.
We went to the Wales Comic Con held in Telford at the Telford International Centre on 18.11.2023 We had a pre-booked photo opp arranged with two actors from Stranger Things. The organisers announced one of the guests were no longer able to attend the event the night before the event. We are still waiting for our refund. The organisors are not responding to any emails or messages on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I've received no refund despite all my emails. They never reply.
I understand guests cancel but its also known this company are not very good at booking guest flights and accomodation. They also make announcements on social media sites that guests are attending, when infact the guests know nothing about the event. Fact is these photo ops are approx £80 to £200 and you will never get your money back. I would never book with Wales Comic Con again because if the guest cancels the company keep the money. I don't know how this company can be allowed to run this business, they should be shut down.
I went to this Comic Con with a pre-booked photo opportunity and the guest cancelled the very night before the event. It's now a year later and I've received no refund despite all my emails, Facebook messages, and even a letter. They never reply.
Guests cancel frequently and while that's understandable, the fact that you will never get your money back should be enough to put you off attending. I would never risk booking again because the guest may cancel at the last minute and WCC will just keep my money and ignore me forever. Horrible way to treat customers and my group will stick to London events from now on.
