Excellent service

Very pleasant and competent driver (Oscar). Arrived on the arranged day and negotiated a narrow gateway in the dark without touching either gatepost!

Ward skips

Ward Recycling - proper company deliver when they say they will, pick up when they say they will, and such lovely people to speak with over the phone.
I have used them recently for 2 separate occasions for skips, and a few years ago when doing the garden.
Value for money, no nonsense, Skip Hire and recycling, In Derby.

Drivers Like to Use Mobile Phone Whilst Driving

Not about the services of the company but greatly enjoyed seeing one of your drivers going through a pedestrian heavy zone whilst texting/using their mobile phone. To make it even worse it's an area with 2 primary schools and a secondary, a kid would have been absolutely flattened by the vehicle.

I won't submit footage as I believe in giving people another chance but if I do see another one of your vehicles doing the same I'll be sending footage straight to the police. Might just be worth sending out a memo to all your drivers reminding them just how stupid and dangerous it is.

Ward, Griffon Rd, Ilkeston - scrapped vehicle

Process to book in car for scrapping was fine. Information on website seemed clear enough about the process. Arrived with my car and it wasn’t clear which reception to go to so called the main number. The lady on the phone was very helpful and directed me to the weighbridge reception. Booked my car in and got a yellow receipt wasn’t really clear what happened next and the guy on reception took my whole log book but didn’t say what happened next. According to the website Ward provide a certificate of destruction within 24 hours which after researching what this meant, led me to believe they would inform the DVLA that my car had been scrapped.

Payment was made to me the next day which again was good. However, I scrapped my car on 1st September but my car was still showing as on the road on the government website until yesterday. The only reason the status changed was because I had written to the DVLA to advise them of my vehicle being scrapped and they confirmed by telephone they had received my letter and the vehicle had been removed from their system. Until then I was still liable for the vehicle and could have received £1,000 fine for not informing them. For this reason I am not completely happy with the service I received. I also contacted Ward by email and their online form but never received a reply. It is a shame that the last part of the process changed my opinion about the company and in future if I scrap another vehicle I will use another company and not hand over the full V5C.

Dangerous driving by Ward lorry driver

On 15 September at around 8.05am, a Ward lorry dangerously forced its way into the queue at Junction 25 of the M1 while we were towing a horse trailer, taking my horse to the equine hospital. We were in the correct lane, but the Ward driver who was in the wrong lane pushed us out into the next lane. If we hadn't have moved over the Ward driver would have clipped our trailer, despite my horse being clearly visible inside.

I contacted Ward directly with a formal complaint and photo evidence. They have now reviewed the camera footage, admitted the driver was in the wrong, and spoken with him to ensure he learns from this mistake.

I appreciate that Ward has taken this seriously and acted responsibly, but the incident was extremely dangerous and should serve as a reminder of the importance of driver awareness.

Easy to book

Easy to book, reasonably priced. Delivered early by very nice and helpful driver. Collected easily too. Would use again.

would have been 5 stars if it had arrived earlier in the day. Delivery was expertly done considering the position on a one way terraced street, all done in about 10 minutes .

Didn’t organise collection with myself

Didn’t organise collection with myself. Turned up unannounced. Previous skip I had with them was on my drive for 4 weeks, this time less than a week. Had to pay additional fee of £30 due to this. The driver was spot on, the admin staff showed no understanding of the situation.
