The Wardrobe Club Melbourne – Total Scam / Strong Warning

I am extremely disappointed and want to warn everyone: do not buy from The Wardrobe Club Melbourne.

I ordered a dress 30 days ago and have received nothing. Their responses are evasive:

• Initially promised: 5–14 days delivery

• Then changed to: up to 30 days

• Now, after a full month, still no item—only claims it is “on the way” with no proof.

I asked for a full refund and am now waiting, unsure if I will ever get my money back. They claim to be based in Melbourne, but I cannot verify their actual location or legitimacy. Communication is poor, promises keep shifting, and trust is completely broken.

Please avoid this business—do not waste your money or time.

I looked into this business carefully before making a purchase because it presents itself as a Melbourne/Australian fashion brand. However, I found several things that raised concerns.
This appears to be a cross-border dropshipping business model. The brand is presented as a local Australian boutique, but the operation appears to be connected to the Netherlands, with products supplied and fulfilled from overseas rather than through a traditional local retail store.

The website gives the impression of an established Melbourne business, including a “moving sale” story, but I could not find clear evidence of a physical Melbourne store or a matching Australian business presence. The return process also indicates overseas handling, with customers responsible for international returns.

I also noticed similarities with other online fashion stores, including very similar policies, website structure and business practices. This raises questions about who actually operates the store, where products are coming from and whether customers are being given a clear picture before purchasing.

Customers should carefully research this type of online store before ordering. Very deceiving!

Product arrived 32 days. Stipulates online that they will refund if not received in 30.
Product not as advertised - it is a synthetic fabric (not denim); Poorly constructed; Not same colour as picture.
Will not give refund, only interested in time wasting emails.
Is a Chinese company - NOT in Melbourne.

Purchased dress unwearable. The “denim” dress was made of a type of polyester better for agriculture wrap, in an industrial blue. A toxic, badly stitched insult to the planet and landfill. Shame on this sham manufacturer and advertiser. Total scam and another example of the woes the internet and overseas manufacturing.

My items eventually arrived today ages after ordering and the quality is shocking, vey poor. Be aware that it may have Melbourne in its title name but shipped from overseas. I sent an email confirming the length of time I had been waiting and that I wasn’t aware clothing was shipped from overseas. Initially the first reply indicated the clothing wasn’t and then another email saying they were. Actively trying to deceive me.
PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE

Waited over a month for order and received a poorly made item that was nothing like the denim dress they advertised.
Emailed back and forwards asking for a refund. They I insist I send it back at my expense. Will be reporting them to Consumer Affairs and going through my bank to get a refund due to fraud in a bait and switch. Sooooo angry!

I ordered a denim dress and received a very poorly constructed polyester dress that looked nothing like the dress on the website. It is cheap and nasty. My other grievance is that the name of the store is misleading. It is based in China, and not Melbourne as implied “wardrobe club-melbourne”

They're scammers. First of all the bank queries whether you are buying from them. Then they do all messages saying your order is processed and out for delivery but with no tracking info. Then doesn't turn up. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM

Total scam. I ordered a denim dress. Took nearly 5 weeks to arrive and received a dirty blue coloured polyester dress that in no way resembled the one ordered. Still fighting for a refund.

This company is a scam. DO NOT buy from this website. Not only did I wait 4 weeks for delivery when it arrived it was NOTHING like what was advertised. It was supposed to be a denim dress but it is in no way denim fabric. The stitching is amateur and quality of workmanship sub-standard . It's not even a decent quality Chinese "knock off". These people are stealing from you. I won't even attempt to return it as it will just cost me more money. Thieves and scammers.

Wardrobe Club are selling a lot of the exact same clothing items with exact same photos.

You will notice on the descriptions of these items no material composition is given. Because they are cheaply made 100% polyester material. In fact it was like lining quality.

On the knitwear you won't find out '"fibre composition".

Another red flag. If they are moving. WHERE are they moving too? They wont say.

Also on their webpage there is no current address given because it is an online shop only. So why do they have pictures of a shop front? And why do they say they are moving to a new premises?

You can buy stuff but returning items is where the trap is.

Buyers beware. There was never a shop front for this business to move from...!!!!

I was lucky after notifying through NAB they gave me a
full refund.
