Wychbold restaurant is of a very poor standard.
Serious health and safety issues - 2 overflowing waste bins sited at the end of the serving station were right next to our table. This was not a pleasant sight to look at whilst waiting 15 minutes for someone to take our order, and a further 20 minutes for our coffee and scones to arrive. We spoke to the assistant manager about the health risks, as well as our lengthy wait. One of the staff then moved the rubbish only to replace the bins in the same place ready for the next lot of dirty rubbish to be dumped next to our table. The assistant manager explained the delay by saying that they were very busy, but she did not appear to be helping the staff in any way. The restaurant was certainly not full, with many empty tables and we could not understand why there were so many staff wandering around doing nothing but chat to each other. Several people who had arrived before us got up and walked out as they were fed up of waiting. This is not the way to encourage customers to return.

I was in Webbs
I was in Webbs, Cheltenham today and having had a bad experience before, I decided to go to see what it was like before inviting my friends later in the week.
There is plenty of car parking.
The variety of plants is great and Caroline the horticulturist was very helpful, and I would highly recommend her for any gardening queries. I did feel bad because I needed to take her away from her work to help with my queries because there wasn’t any staff in the indoor gardening section.
The ladies main toilet door entrance wasn’t closing, not a nice experience. I have notified a member of staff who said the person to deal with this would be in tomorrow.
There is only one way to enter the café. There needs to be more signage to signify this. I was able to just walk in and chose any table I wished. There wasn’t a menu on the table, which annoyed ‘Abi’. Understandable but for a customer to see, not necessary. Lovely Daisy served me and asked when kind of bread, which was great but omitted to ask what kind of poached egg and consequently had it hard yoked. She was very pleasant. It would be very helpful to have all café staff to wear a name badge.
Its best not to sit too near the kitchen entrance as the continuous ‘humming’ noise can be very irritating. I spoke to one of staff about this, because they work there, they have got used to it.
There is an afternoon tea £16.99 but you need to go online to find out the menu etc. as there isn’t a hard copy to hand. ( after September. £19.99 per person)
In summary, from a catering point of view: if webs want to charge premier prices, they need to ‘tweak’ the customer care. I have referenced Boston Tea Party and The Ivy to compare prices and if you have had the privilege to eat there, you will feel very special. It would great if Webbs cantering to be trained up to this standard, after all customers just don’t pay for the food but the experience as well.

AVOID - Sat at a booth, Poorly cleaned table. You have to have someone come and take your order. We sat there for 20 minutes. Loads of staff walking around, but not one approached us. We finally asked if someone can come and take out order and a lady told us someone will be coming over. She even pointed to the person. The person went to the wrong booth and took there order , even though they had just walked in. To make matters worse, we were seated in the booth right at the front by the cakes and waiting area to be seated. We got up and left. Never again.

Quality plants and excellent packaging
I recently ordered three Pittosporum plants and was very impressed by a) the size and quality of the plants and b) the remarkably effective packaging. The plants arrived undamaged and in healthy condition. Many thanks from a very satisfied customer.
Poor Service
This is my third consecutive visit to the restaurant. The first the apple pie was microwaved (confirmed by a member of staff) and soggy, the 2nd the scrabbled egg tasted like egg custard which again I'm guessing was microwaved.
Today, the 3rd visit, I spent an hour just for coffee and cake. People were coming in after me and getting served whilst I was ignored. This was happening to other people as well. Members of staff shuffling papers by the till, drinking from their bottles and very busy cleaning tables which was the only positive I can get from the service.
How are the staff monitoring who is waiting?

Very pleased with the service I received. Due to a coding issue, it happens, I received yellow plants instead of pink. Problem sorted immediately, kindly and new pink plants arrived in 2 days. Can’t ask for more than that.

Courtesy of our son who bought it as a birthday present we had an afternoon tea today at Webbs in Hagley, West Midlands and it was great! What was particularly nice (apart the cakes!) was the genuine welcome from the staff (Sarah in particular). Everything was fresh and beautifully presented.

Bought some grapes 27th. Unfortunately some mouldy and black. Packed on 22nd and left at front.
Very poor as inedible.
Obviously a con to get gullible customers to buy from the front.
Update. 29/5/23 Thank you for the offer of money back. Unfortunately grapes binned without photo. If it possible please could you give the amount to a charity of your choice. It £2.99.

This review is regarding the pet shop department.
I must say, it’s wonderfully stocked with soo many different types of fish, accessories including tanks ect, rabbits ect.
The main reason for writing this review was regarding the young , enthusiastic young man who gave us soo much interesting information regarding the food for the lizards 🦎 he really loved his job and it showed through his customer service. Well done and we hope that Webb’s reward you somehow for your service, and thank you from our granddaughter Lilly who loved the time you spent with us.

Healthy looking plants...
Unfortunately, the plants arrived damaged through being thrown arround by the numpties at DPD. On reporting this, they were quickly replaced and look top quality plants...5☆☆☆☆☆

Amazing Customer Service!
I placed an order for several items - a birthday surprise for my husband. I sent Webbs an email regarding a concern about the order. Expecting a return email response, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an actual phone call from Andy. He was an absolute star in addressing my concern and has gained a faithful shopper for life. There are but a few companies who have demonstrated such exemplary customer service! Well done, Andy!
Excellent Service
I ordered two identical plants. Within a day I had an apologetic message saying that Webbs had made an error in their stock number and could not supply them. However they could fulfil the order by using another company who would provide the plants on their behalf. I asked them to go ahead and the plants were delivered a couple of days later. The plants are good and were well packaged. The whole purchasing experience and customer care was excellent.
