My experience in purchasing a new home…

My experience in purchasing a new home at Chellaston Ford came down to Michael’s knowledge, experience and patience!
He guided me through every step and took time to listen, demonstrate the features and turned my wants and aspirations into reality. I highly recommend his attention to detail and listening skills to be the best I have experienced. He is an asset to any organisation that he will work for. I have yet to speak to the customer service team, if they follow Michael’s approach I will be very happy.

Great experience as first time buyers!

Popped in for our second visit to Ashberry homes at Whitford Heights last weekend and had the most amazing time! As first time buyers, we’re relatively new to this and Rick couldn’t have been more helpful - going above and beyond to show us different homes and give us as much information as he could. We have fallen in love with a house type and are eagerly waiting for its release, thinking of any excuse possible to go back to the site and speak to Rick to get even more excited!!! Couldn’t have been a more positive experience!

We recently purchased our new home from Ashberry Homes at Chellaston Folds, and the entire experience has been exceptional from start to finish. The quality of the build is outstanding, with great attention to detail and a real sense of craftsmanship throughout.
Mikey and the team were incredibly helpful and supportive at every stage of the process. They kept us well-informed, answered all our questions promptly, and made what can often be a stressful experience feel smooth and straightforward.
We were particularly impressed with the finish of the property and the thoughtful design—everything feels modern, well-planned, and built to last. Any minor queries we had after moving in were dealt with quickly and professionally.
Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our new home and would highly recommend Ashberry Homes at Chellaston Folds to anyone looking for a high-quality property and a reliable, customer-focused developer.

Home automation not working, heating system faulty, and major delays with broadband

This has been an incredibly frustrating and unacceptable experience for around six months since we moved in.

One of the key reasons we chose to buy a home from Ashberry was the promise of home automation. Unfortunately, that has turned out to be completely misleading, as the system has not worked from day one.

The heating system in particular has been a complete mess. The thermostat automation has never functioned, and the boiler runs non-stop 24/7 even after reaching the set temperature. This isn’t just uncomfortable—it’s forcing us to spend extra money on completely unnecessary heating costs. Watching energy bills go up because a basic system doesn’t function properly is beyond frustrating.

To be fair, the site manager has been responsive and made efforts to address the issue, including arranging visits from an electrician and a plumber. We also appreciate the support provided by the sales team during the purchase process. However, despite these efforts, the problem remains unresolved. When we raised that the thermostat itself might be faulty, the Ashberry customer service team informed us that the manufacturer no longer supports this product in the UK, and the only option offered was to control it manually—which is simply not acceptable for a modern home, especially one marketed with “home automation.”

On top of that, the broadband situation has been equally disappointing. There was no network available for over a month after moving in, causing major disruption—especially when working from home and managing daily life.

Overall, this experience has been stressful, costly, and exhausting. Essential systems like heating and internet should be fully functional from day one, and features that influence buying decisions—like home automation—should work as promised. Unfortunately, that has not been the case here.

From our very first enquiry through to the finer points of negotiation, Anna has been nothing short of exceptional. Purchasing a new home is never a small journey, and yet she guided us through it with a rare combination of professionalism, warmth, and genuine care.
