Lovely flat
Lovely flat, nice position, well maintained and clean.
TV either not working properly or more instructions needed on how to switch on the TV and receiver box.
Disappointing to not get discount at the Regatta which is clearly shown in the handbook, needs removing.

Always a pleasure to book with Best of Suffolk. Our recent stay at The Mowbrays was no exception. Property clean, beds that are really important to us we’re really comfortable. I had a small issue with the hob made a call and problem sorted in minutes over the phone. Staff always very helpful and polite. We always holiday in Suffolk and always use this company.

Our favourite Suffolk holiday cottage company
We have used Best of Suffolk for our last 8 years holidays in Suffolk and wouldn't go anywhere else. Excellent customer service every time I have been in touch the team are very friendly and helpful. Easy to use website and no extras added for taking your dogs. Wouldn't hesitate to use for your next holiday in Suffolk and would definitely recommend.

Blythburgh stay
Our family really enjoyed staying at Meadowsweet, Blythburgh. The house was in a lovely location, beautifully kept with a nice garden to enjoy a bbq and garden games. Lovely unspoilt beaches nearby. Booking was easy and customer service received was really good. Would highly recommend.

Poor Customer Service
Whilst I have no issues with the homeowners of the property, I am disappointed with the management of my booking by Best of Suffolk (BoS). A key reason for selecting the property was the use of a roof terrace. However, there was clearly an ongoing issue with seagulls on this terrace There was a failure to provide early notification regarding the issue. It was notified by BoS via e-mail one day before the commencement of the rental when the issue had been present significantly before that. This reasonably prevented alternative accommodation being sought. The e-mail advised that seagulls were nesting on the roof terrace. They were not. They were fledging seagulls waiting to fly and fiercely protected by their parents. A further e-mail from BoS on arrival day said that previous guests had “been able to use the roof terrace, albeit with the presence of the seagulls” and “the roof terrace is accessible and available for use for the entirety of (my) stay”. This was clearly not the case and photographic evidence and a “welcome note” in the accommodation advising of the danger that I provided to BoS confirmed this. I was advised by BoS that they would undertake a “full clean up of the roof terrace so that it is in the best possible condition prior to (my) arrival”. This did not happen. Irrespective of the danger posed by the seagulls, the covering of guano on the terrace made it unusable. It was clear from a subsequent e-mail from BoS that they had very limited awareness of the issues: “we appreciate the photographs and videos as it helps us establish what is going on”. Whilst recognising that the small print of the T’s & C’s excludes any refund based on seagull disruption, the owners immediately offered a 10% refund on the booking which I accepted. I also sought without prejudice compensation from BoS.beacuse of their poor management of the situation. Given their website claim that ““Best of Suffolk has the best selection of luxury, hand-picked, stylish holiday cottages in Suffolk. What makes us different, is our Suffolk expertise. Our small, friendly and knowledgeable team love nothing more than sharing our love for our stunning county” I found their offer of a 5% discount on future bookings derisory.

We are disappointed to receive a 1 star review of our service upon receipt of a 10% refund of the rental price paid. This was something agreed by Best of Suffolk with the property owner on your behalf.
As you have discussed at length with members of our team, we are sorry for the impact of Seagulls on your time in Southwold but believe we did everything possible to minimise the effect on your stay. Our team did their very best to manage the situation with the information available at the time from the property owner and housekeeper.
Seagulls as a protected species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 are unable to be interfered with and as such we unable to be removed from the roof terrace of the property. We recognise that this impacted your stay and as such, despite our booking terms and conditions agreed fair and reasonable compensation with the owner.
We are disappointed that you were not happy with our service but remain confident that our team did everything possible in a difficult and unforeseen situation.
