Blacks - Dundee Avis 

I called for a pair of leather waterproof boots, as the gortex ones I have did not keep my feet dry. The assistant George was absolutely brilliant, he explained that my gortex boots probably needed reproofing and explained how I could do this, providing the products I needed. George was very honest and suggested I try this and I may not need new boots. This honest approach reflects very highly on Blacks as a company. However I decided to still purchase a pair of boots and I had it in my head I wanted Hi Tech. George took the time to explain all about the qualities of the leather from different manufacturers and brought me several pairs across the ranges to try, demonstrating the differences in quality and price. I finally decided on a pair of Scarpa leather boots as George had also measured my feet and I am a 10.5 and Scarpa do half sizes in their range, George showed me how to test to see if my toe banged against the front of the boot, nobody has ever told me about this before, which surprises me as it is a great tip. George then provided the beeswax to treat the boots with and explained what to do. I wore the boots and was out all day in the snow beating moorland and marshland, I got a thorough soaking but my feet remained dry and the boots were comfortable all day. For the first time ever, on arriving home I did not feel the need to remove the boots ASAP. Thank you George you did Blacks proud, you answered all questions and explained in depth the logic behind the answers. You are a very switched on young man, and an asset to any company.

Bought a pair of boots in the Dundee store. George was on hand to talk to me about the pros and cons of different types and brands of boots. He was informative and patient while I tried on a few different pairs until I got the ones I wanted.
I use the Dundee store quite often and as well as George all members of staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

Great experience in Blacks Dundee today trying to buy a jacket for 13 yr old grandson. The guy who served me was knowledgable and definitely helped me choose 2 jackets to take home. No pressure salesmanship just friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful.

I visited your branch in the Seagate in Dundee. I received excellent service from all your staff. I have a walking aid and the door was opened when I entered and left your shop. In store I was served by 2 staff members. They took alot off time serving me. I required a bag to be measured, as I am going on a plane next week. I got a bag to fit the measurements l required. Excellent service.

Very helpful staff. I was in for waterproof trousers and was given help with my purchase and offered a few varieties to try on before I decided. All staff were welcoming as well when I arrived at the shop. A lovely shopping experience, thank you

Went in today to get some advice about a Down Sleeping bag. Craig was very helful and informative. They didnt have the bag I wanted in store but Craig advised I could buy it online and if it was not suitable return it to the store which i was unaware of.

Was in Dundee store this morning with my sister looking for new jackets. We were served by Lisa who was extremely attentive, polite and efficient - nothing was too much trouble. A pleasant shopping experience in Blacks and I won't hesitate to shop there in the future.

My first time in Blacks. Last I went in looking for new waterproof cosy jacket and trousers. The staff member, i didn't get his name, couldn't have been more helpful..today I returned to look at gloves..again Lisa who helped me look at your range of gloves was so helpful..I have mobility problems and get around using 2 elbow crutches..nothing was rushed..i could do things at my pace..unfortunatly alot of shops try to rush you and I just don't go back. With all staff that have dealt with me over the last week I would happily recommend they shop at Blacks.

Went in to Blacks this afternoon in search of a new pair of hiking boots and socks for an upcoming trip away. Went straight through to the rear of the shop, and it had plenty of options to choose from. Was served by Olga, who was simultaneously attending to myself and two other customers. She was very polite and patient, and nothing was too much hassle. My girlfriend and I noticed that one customer was rather rude to Olga, but she remained courteous and professional towards him, despite him being rather aggressive and irrational.
Blacks is another high street retailer which clearly demonstrates customer service remains top priority - been before, will return again, and thanks to Olga and the team.
