Britbox used to be worthwhile but now it is a shadow of its former self. A lot of popular shows have simply vanished, and if you want to see anything new (their definition of that is sometimes 2013)... Voir plus
Have no problems streaming content from Now tv, prime video, iplayer etc but Britbox is terrible. Programmes take ages to load and often tells me I’m not connected to internet when I am and programmes... Voir plus

Britbox on Roku Express works fine
Unlike many reviews here, I have started using Britbox on the Roku Express streaming device and am very pleased with it.
The only initial problem I had was the absence of a "Continue Watching" icon, but a helpful exchange with their website assured me that I would find this function right down at the bottom of all the selections On my third time of watching the same season, this icon magically appeared amongst the various selections, quite near the top of the home page.
Content seems great, no viewing problems whatever so far.
It would appear that the Roku has a different Britbox App to the one other reviewers complain about?

I am a customer of britbox have been for a while turned it on a few days ago hasn't come on yet they have taken my payment .asking for all kinds of things for me to sign in not working not happy need to get your act together I'm going to cancel if not resolved Mrs j eastham.
Utter excrement
Just doesn't work. Signed up, taken the money from my account, but trying to connect on any device just prompts to sign up again. And if you do it says you are already subscribed! P1ss-ups and breweries come to mind. Have to contact the credit card company to reverse the transaction i guess. Losers.

Same problems as everyone else. Good programmes, truly appalling software. We've persevered with this for 15 months but are now going to cancel, once we've finished watching a few of the better series.
The app on our LG has become virtually unusable. It still works reasonably well on the more dated Roku device, but forgets what you've watched and the episode icons are incorrect. However last night Britbox asked us to renew our subscription and checking on a mobile phone we got the same request. Britbox never fails on my mobile but who watches TV on a mobile?
It appears today we hadn't cancelled our subscription after all and everything working as before (except to the LG app obviously).
I thought they might get their act together ... eventually. Clearly not.
Can't play, won't play
Second time I've had to contact the help team because programmes don't play or can't resume. Screen goes blank and then nothing happens?! They seem to won't to says it's my internet or service provider but I've had no issues with netflix, prime, iplayer etc. Have now asked for a refund, will see what happens.
What a pile of s**t
What a pile of s**t, constantly turns off mid program , black screen, freezing and slow, constantly having to log in and out and restart etc... just to get it to work and even then its only when it wants to.
Constant dropouts very annoying
Constant dropouts make this a very frustrating subscription streaming service. Programmes are ok, I like the all UK series, and it is not expensive like Netflix, however may let it go if this does not improve.

Britbox Frustration
Absolutely fed up with Britbox which I have had almost since inception. The last six months in particular have been terrible. Constantly cutting out and telling me to check my wifi. No problem with any other streaming, i.e.Netflix,Now,Amazoprime,All4,and others. I hardly watch mainstream tv (mainly just the news) as I find it boring and repetitive. That and continual account problems. The only thing positive is their understanding and patient staff. Fed up 75 year old who will not renew his subscription (unfortunately paid annually)
Hopeless
I like the content on Britbox but it's useless. Programmes freeze, no sound,stutters then it just logs me out. Get your act together Britbox before you lose more and more subscribers and you come to a sad end completely. I've cancelled my subscription. Don't have these issues with other streaming services.

I don’t generally enjoy much of the current output from many streaming services and so BritBox scores highly there but the technology behind it is frustratingly useless. I use an app on my smart tv and am regularly required to sign in several times a week. Once the programme’s eventually load, they’re jumpy or freeze and go out of sync. BritBox really needs to get its act together or it’ll fold in the face of more competition using more stable platforms.

Am on free trial for 7 days and am cancelling. Never had such a problematic and frustrating experience with streaming. Takes an age to load and then freezes suddenly mid episode and then goes to start of next episode. Can’t cast to tv, doesn’t work on iPad. Can download, but this takes an age to watch on iPad. Had more success using mobile data on phone. Never had this problem with Amazon or Netflix.

Not sure about the bad reviews? I watch on Roku downloaded the app, no problems what so ever. Excellent selection of drama and comedy well worth the monthly subscription.

We are asked to pay for BBC content that we actually paid for in the first place, and after subscribing find you then have to buy episodes of any decent classic drama. Still paying a license fee as well. What a rip-off!!
Avoid BritBox con
Honestly you could be half way through a series and suddenly it’s taken off. Search bar is awful. I set this up for my mum who like watching the old period dramas / Catherine Cookson and so on. There was literally hardly Any to choose from . BritBox has all the below par rubbish and none of the decent stuff. Also bbc are part of BritBox don’t they already rip us off enough with the tv licence ? Obviously not !

24 hours after posting the below my acount mysteriously reopened not sure if they will charge me at the discount rate as yet. "I was reasonably happy with the programmes there was some glitches going through the web site and one outage for a while (their end) things are getting tight but so I began to cancel the service as I did so they made a very nice offer at a much cheaper rate so I accepted. A few days later my service was terminated. Was correctly charged in th end, Alsop cant find anywhere on their web site to remove my credit card details!!!
