Not user friendly at all-New Update

I'm giving BB 2 stars because some of the detective shows are exciting and binge-worthy with good actors/actresses; however, after reading some of the reviews, I agree that BB needs to step their technology WAY UP as it has been a round-about roller coaster of, will BB work today? I contacted BB via email when I was not able to connect, and they responded within 10 minutes to explain they were having technical difficulties, which I appreciated. One day the closed captions work for me and not the next. Manipulating between the phone and the TV remotes has been a nightmare. I'm hanging in there for a while, but don't think I can take much more for long. Hope they can upgrade their systems shortly.
The following is an update of BritBox October -December 2023. BB now allows me to log on and stream seamlessly on my mobile, desktop, or TV screen. I'm anxiously waiting for new episodes of many of the detective mysteries I binged on :-)

A Great Steaming Pile of Horse S**t

Dreadful experience. Almost every time I try to access Britbox via Amazon Firestick it fails. Sometimes asks if I want to sign in, only to be asked next whether I want to sign out. It's like the Hokey Cokey doesn't know whether its in or out.

Other times it tells me I have no Internet connection when everything else works on the same fire stick.

All in all, apart from the content (when you can find it), BritBox is a steaming pile of horse s**t.

You can't get phone help from Britbox…

You can't get phone help from Britbox anymore. You have to send an email form and then they tell you they will get back to you in 24 hours which is not much use at all when the system repeatedly fails to work. Very poor customer service and getting worse.

Difficult to use

Great and enjoyable wide rang of programmes most suited to slightly older viewers. Shame it's such a ball ache to get into with the need for a password every 2 or 3 viewing switch on's. Even the password gets rejected on the TV so it's out with the tablet! Remember the days when you could sit down, turn the tele on and start watching.

Logs us out of the channel about every 10 days - always seems to happen when we're watching overnight. It's a royal pain in the $%# to have to go find serial number to frickin' log in again. Getting to the point it's not worth the effort

I have to say after6 months of this company trying totake money from my card, it has suddenly started again yet I have no subscription! I have contacted my bank who have again reimbursed me, and there is now an order in place if they continue to try and do this they will be charged a very high amount from my bank. They suddenly after 6 months took money, yet when I went back to them AGAIN they had the audacity to say I must have another account with them!!! Very dodgy, so i have this plan in place with my bank in place. I even cancelled my direct debit and now have a new card in place because of these people. Their customer service is terrible and they always try to find excuses and never apologise. My advice is NOT to use Britbox, I have calulated over the months ( even though I have been reimbursed by my bank) they have fraudently taken £79 saying I have an active account which I don't and I even emailed them proof that it was cancelled last year!!! A terrible company

Britbox missing episodes (and proud of it)

Message Britbox about the BBC/HBO series 'Rome' that was missing the last two episodes of season 1. This is their response:-
"Rome is a great historical drama and it's good to have it on our service. Due to licencing restriction we are unable to offer the last two episodes of series. I do understand this may disrupt the pattern of the storyline for you."
Needless to say I cancelled my subscription - who signs up (and pays money) only to be able to watch partial series?
What a shambles service.

I got a trial Jan 22 and cancelled the same day as I wasn’t that impressed with the programmes. Since then they have taken money from my credit card.

They can see I have not ever used Britbox yet won’t refund me. They are asking for an email I don’t have.after 16 months

Britbox is a shambles do not enter a contract with them
I cancelled my subscription with them but still get a monthly charge while I contacted them ref this they inform me they have no record of me being a member so unable to grant me a refund
Leave them alone is my advice to anyone thinking of joining their wretched company

I have tried to cancel Britbox 4 times but you keep billing me each month. I consider it theft. You are a bunch of criminals and I wish your company to Hell. If you don't unsubscribe me immediately and keep stealing my money I will try and get the police on to you!!

British 70s comedy cut to bits

Paid £59 for the year only to find that 70s comedy's has been cut to ribbons, Decided to watch George & Mildred as it had just been added and my son noticed blatant cuts in the episode, for instance the episode Baby Talk is about adoption and the scene about a woman who adopted a bk baby was cut by 40 seconds. We've now decided to watch on YouTube as they are original.
Cancelled my renewal.

This service is a total scam! I joined Britbox under their 3 months free offer but cancelled before I was due to start paying as I just didn't use it enough. But then I was charged. I assumed I must have forgotten to actually cancel so tried to log on but I couldn't, I didn't have an account with them. I found the original email that confirmed my cancellation and forwarded it onto their customer service; which should have been an instant no brainer that I had been incorrectly charged and offered a refund but there was an infuriating amount of backing and forthing before the refund, but finally they agreed to issue it. Fine, I thought, at least that's sorted. Only to check my online banking this morning to see I have been charged yet again! This is utterly ridiculous! I can't even log in to watch something if I wanted to because I don't have a subscription with them; they are charging me literally for nothing! So now I get to start the battle to get my refund again! I think I'll have to go to my bank though to make sure they don't charge me again as Britbox are nothing but thieves.

A waste of money

A waste of money, time, and focus.

A tired offering, to say the least. Failed series, films and series broadcast before even I was born, and episodes of successful series to lure you into buying the others - because nothing worth the money is available on Britbox.

Use your money to buy whole series and excellent films at second-hand on eBay, Magpie, or in your local charity shop.

BRITBOX/ITVX,THERE SO CALLED FREE 7 DAY TRIAL ISNT ON APPLE IOS DEVICES,
When you sign up to the free 7 day trial then £5.99 a month if you want to keep it?iOS devices take the £5.99 immediately,not giving the option of any other payment other then clicking on your iOS device to confirm so called free 7 day trial.
I spoke to BritBox(who are merging with ITVX eventually)
They told me it was down to Apple,even though both BritBox and ITVX apps on iOS do the same thing!
So iOS customers (don’t know about android?)
Are being COMPLETELY misled and being charged straight away.
I spoke to Apple and they said it’s down to the app provider.
Something is very wrong here
BE AWARE IF YOU ARE SIGNING UP ON IOS DEVICES YOU WILL BE CHARGED IMMEDIATELY !!!!!
AFTER MORE EMAILS TO BOTH APPLE AND BRITBOX/ITVX I NEVER RECEIVED A REFUND OF THE £5.99 WHICH SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN TAKEN SO I WILL NOT BE USING ANY OF THESE SEEVICES AGAIN

I have asked them 3 times to delete me…

I have asked them 3 times to delete me credit card details after cancelling my account and they reply with it can take up to three months to do this . If anyone hacks my account they can restart the monthly subscription and buy monthly gift subscriptions to others . This is totally crazy . Do not sign up and pay using credit card . It’s too dangerous
