I went to Canaccord for wealth management services and the service has been shocking. Three months nothing opened, little contact, not onboarded yet, every promise missed. I have £300k to invest which obviously isn't enough. Plus as an ex staff member I expected a bit more..
Do not try to get your assets out...
Trying to get my cash and holdings out of Canaccord has been an unbelievably bad experience. First request submitted 6 weeks ago to just send cash to another brokerage has required multiple emails and phone calls and is still not completed. No proactive advice, a compliance department that require endless documentation...I had decided to move because there is no transparancy in their dealing - you place a verbal/or emailed order which they go and execute! They have NO REAL TIME dealing platform for clients, so you do not know the strike price until you get the statement.

Cannacord really are a dreadful company to deal with. Please stay well away. More interested in fees than looking after clients interests.
Please avoid .
Wealth manager was unprofessional and kept on pushing me to products that delivered more commission to himself and the company. Don’t want to name names and get him into trouble but needless to say I would not use now or in the future.

How strange??
How strange it is that my earlier posts were not discovered by Canaccord for 10 months, until the end of Feb 2024 and suddenly between 27 Feb 24 and 1 Mar 24, there was a flurry of 5 star posts - the only ones on the whole list. The rest are all one star reviews.
SPAM / PECR violation
Received unsolicited sales emails to my work and two personal email addresses (including one I use for friends and family only), without an option to unsubscribe. The email itself even declared it was unsolicited. This is a violation of PECR and especially disturbing giving that it was sent to a very personal email addresses.

Excellent Service from Canaccord
In 2020, on a personal recommendation, I invested with Canaccord Genuity a significant portion of funds from the sale of my Company shares on retirement. Since the beginning of our relationship, and after careful consideration of my requirements, Canaccord have successfully managed my account, generating a regular monthly payment to me, whilst at the same time growing the Capital sum. This has been achieved in an efficient and professional, yet relaxed and friendly manner with my account manager Matthew. Communications with the organisation are excellent, with quarterly and year-end tax reports on time and easy to understand. I would have no hesitation in recommending Canaccord to anyone seeking an organisation to look after their investments.

Useless … avoid !
Thank heavens I realised in time what they were like. In 6 months they lost me thousands from my personal pension plan.
I have now sacked them as my financial advisors and removed all my money.
Don’t use them !

Extremely unprofessional in all respects
Extremely unprofessional, arrogant in their whole approach to dealing with clients. They took over a company that we were happy with and since that date, there is not a good word to say about this organisation.
Little surprise that other reports echo our bad experience. They are however extremely good at charging for a non existent service!
My last $97,000 invested with them is…
My last $97,000 invested with them is now, two and a half years later, worth $6,000. Half the companies they sold me no longer exist.
Apparently they excel at promoting and selling stocks that earn them commission, with any regard to how those stocks may perform.
Steer clear.

I've been with them for over 20 years…
I've been with them for over 20 years and lost most the investment and can even take out what's left on the account and their charges are astonishing. I left it in there as a long term and it's down to nil.

Incredibly incompetent
Incredibly poor service and incompetence. I was previously a customer of Punter Southall who were acquired by Cannacord. My portfolio over the time it was with them significantly underperformed the benchmark. No changes were made and to make it worse, when i decided to transfer, the process was made incredibly long and costly due to cannacord incompetence. To add insult to injury, they are now trying to deduct “advisor fees” from my transfer, despite specific instructions to cancel this months ago, which have been ignored, along with other instructions! Please please avoid at all costs.
