Stalling on refunds

Like everyone else, I have been waiting for my refund for a year now and my airline confirmed they refunded the money back to Checkmyfares 6 months ago and even on a skeleton staff... this does not take that long to refund money that belongs to other people. Seems to me that this is nothing more than a stalling tactic as so many other companies have.
managed to pay back refunds in a timely manner. After reading everyones review here - its obvious we are not going to get our money back - I suggest everyone now go to the ACCC so they can start their investigations - its obvious they are holding a LOT of money that was refunded by the air lines and probably also getting job keeper payments too - its time to take action everyone...

Reply needed asap

I have been trying to get in touch with checkmyflights on and off for the past year with no luck speaking to anyone. No one returns calls, emails or FB msgs.

I had a flight from SYD-MEL booked with you for last April. Reservation number V75964 and all i need is a letter of authority releasing the flight so I can get a credit from Virgin. Not hard, but does require a reply.

Immediate action required / cancellation status -CMF-2020-06649

I confirmed that Air-line company already approved my flight cancellation 3 month ago, CMF did not refund my money yet and never answer emails. Customer service Web page closed!!! I really don't know what happened for them. Please contact me asap and confirm the cancellation.

CMF-2020-05833 l have not received a…

CMF-2020-05833 l have not received a reply about changing flights. I have sent 3 emails and no reply in the 24 hours promised. Now the customer support link does not work and the manage my flight does not recognize the CMF number. I will say this, when l needed to change the flights from July to October, Check my Fares replied very quickly, l am not sure what is wrong at the moment.

March 2020 I booked 5 tickets for a family holiday. These 3 of these tickets were with another online travel agent and 2 were with Checkmyfares. These were exactly the same airfare conditions, airline company and purchasing conditions for all 5 tickets. I have just received a full refund for the 3 tickets with the other online travel agent. This is now proof that you are withholding my money. I would appreicate if you could kindly provide me with my fiull refund. I have have tried to contact you through both phone and email and I am not getting any response.If this matter is not resolved promplty you leave me no choice but to take this matter further.

These guys are literally the worst

These guys are literally the worst. They were regularly communicating with me regarding my refund for flights in march 2020, I requested an update 3 weeks ago and have since emailed every single day with no response. I understand the process is lengthy but I think at the minimum a response to my queries should be accepted. Checkmyfares are scammers and are only lining their own pockets

The WORST scam travel website on the internet!!!

Never, ever book with this absolute scam of a website! Still waiting on a refund for cancelled flights from Syd to Fiji 9 months later. I’ve sent them 64 emails chasing the refund and have continually been told ‘the refund is coming’. Fiji Airways have released the funds but checkmyfares.com won’t return the money! Currently they are not responding to my emails at all.... I have contacted the ACCC and by the looks of these reviews so have many others. Stay away!!!!!

Guys it’s time to initiate a class action

Guys it’s time to initiate a class action, both CheckMyFair and Qatar Airline must be responsible. These guys had the refund from Qatar Airways and still not refunding customers, time to join up and start a class action, I suggest a Facebook page. Please contact me if you experienced the same.

Time to take action people

It's been so long they still refuse to return my money with other companies I got the refund less than month. they keep talking about there suppliers who's you supplier? every one that's been riped off by them we need to get together and take action and sue this company let's all get in touch make shure this company never do business again. Let write to the media and get this on national TV with all there names.

Nearly 12 months since our flight from…

Nearly 12 months since our flight from Melbourne to the UK was cancelled due to the Covid outbreak. Been in contact with CMF on several occasions and still nothing but excuses. This is beyond poor service and should be a warning to any other people who are fooled into using this company for a flight booking. I will continue to try to get our refund and will not give up as this is not a small amount of hard earned money and would like to finally put this whole disaster to the back of my mind

SCAMMERS!!!!!

DO NOT EVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! I wish I could give them ZERO stars. I cannot believe this is happening to this many people! It has been about 11 months now STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND!! Countless emails with the same generic response from them. I was told my money had been sent to them from the airline, almost 5 months ago however apparently has been with their "OIC" since then!! Are they for real!?!?!? They are literally withholding everyone's money just to keep their company afloat! This can't be legal.
Now, since I have advised them that I will be emailing them every single day until I have confirmation that my refund has been transferred they have stopped responding to me all together! And of course they have disconnected all of their phone lines so no one can call them. Absolute joke.

very unprofessional and liar

I booked my tickets with them first time in Dec 2019 to travel in March 2020 but due to lockdown we couldn't travel and we put a request for refund in end of March 2020 and still waiting for refund for four tickets every time when we reach out to them we got same answer refund process is in queue i don't know how long they will take to refund it is almost a year now very bad service these guys got refund ages ago from airline but don't want to refund it to the person who actually paid that money to them. they should know every one is asking for their money they paid .We r not asking CMF to pay from their pocket.

10 months still waiting for refund, lied to Fair Trading

After 10 months of waiting, excuses and delays in paying my refund, CMF assured Fair Trading the refund would be paid by 12 February. No surprise, they lied to Fair Trading and the refund still has not been paid. The airline processed the refund months and months ago, CMF are just holding on to it.
Same stock standard response from CMF below. Just one excuse after another. CMF assured both myself and Fair Trading the refund would be paid - but it hasn't. CMF stop blaming the airlines - the carrier refunded my fare to CMF months ago!

Bunch of Liars and Dodgy people

It's gonna be nearly a year and I've not yet been refunded for my tickets. Every time I write to them, they give me a different excuse. First they kept saying the airline has not refunded. Now it's been over 4 months since the airline refunded the amount to them but they aren't paying me. Keep saying, that they are short of staff so it's taking time. The next time I was told I've been put on the priority list (This was in October). Now they keep writing back that they have a process. Bunch of liars and untrustworthy people.

Got my refund finally

Like most people here, even I was frustrated with CMF not processing refund. Apparently my refund was in reconciliation process for the last 7 months- that's the reason CMF gave. After countless emails back and forth, I requested my bank for a chargeback. Finally, I got my money back via chargeback process.
I would recommend for all those waiting for their refund, to request for a chargeback. Provide the bank with email correspondence you have had with CMF as proof.
I know any chargeback request should be place within 90 days, however, any bank would entertain a request. As in my case it was more than 6 months and my bank understood the situation and helped me.
My only reason for putting this here is because CMF is lying and refusing to refund someone's hard earned money. I hope this helps to get your money back.

*WOW!!!!!....UPDATE...Same as the countless others...

*SOoooo someone has gone through and replied to everyones review on here with the same generic BS my other (now 90+) emails read like...They quote 12 weeks again, again and again...I am now past week 41!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A staff member claimed that on Aug 31st they had received my refund from the airline and that now their OIC just needed to process it...HELLO That was 5 months ago!!!!!!!!!!! Your OIC is the most useless person in charge of something EVER! Even the caryard that once scammed me finally fixed their lies and BS in would you believe 12 weeks! HAHAHAHAHA! True story....Same as the countless others...No refund in 8 months, 70+emails and no end in sight except them going out of business I fear...ALWAYS book directly with the airline in the future my friends.
