I had all the support I needed to study for my SQE

Réponse de The College of Legal Practice
My experience with this institution's LLM programme and its associated SQE preparation course was deeply disappointing and fell drastically short of the academic and professional standards one would expect. I urge prospective students to consider this review a serious warning.
The programme is plagued by several critical and systemic failings:
Substandard Course Materials: The provided manuals and academic texts are of an unacceptable quality, replete with factual inaccuracies, spelling mistakes, and grammatical errors. They lack the professional proofreading and academic rigour required for postgraduate legal study.
Perfunctory and Contradictory Feedback: Feedback from academic staff is consistently superficial and unconstructive. It is common to receive generic praise such as "great job," only for the final grade to be inexplicably low, with no substantive critique provided to justify the mark or guide improvement.
Chronic Administrative Disorganisation: The academic schedule is in a constant state of flux. Manuals, lecture times, and feedback seminar dates are changed frequently and at the last minute, rendering any personal or professional planning impossible. This administrative chaos demonstrates a profound lack of respect for students' time and commitments.
Compromised Academic Integrity: The assessment criteria for a core module were altered at the very end of the term. This unannounced, retroactive change to the grading framework is a serious breach of academic fairness and transparency.
Fundamentally Inadequate SQE Preparation: The SQE preparation module is not fit for purpose. The content and methodology bear little resemblance to the actual Solicitors Qualifying Examination, leaving students ill-prepared and at a significant disadvantage.
Persistent Operational Failures: The programme's disorganisation extends to its basic technical delivery. As I write this, a scheduled assessment has failed to become accessible fifteen minutes past its official start time, which is just one of many such occurrences.
In summary, the programme feels less like a rigorous academic endeavour and more like a poorly executed commercial enterprise. The significant tuition fees are in no way justified by the quality of education, administration, or support provided. This has not been a sound investment of time or money. I would strongly advise prospective students to seek their legal education elsewhere.

Staff and lecturers are all extremely pleasant to deal with. The course content is fantastic and very high quality. Definitely helped me achieve my SQE2 and become a qualified solicitor! I had to pause my studies and switch from FT to PT during my studies; the College was extremely accommodating and communicated everything very clearly regarding start dates, fees, and everything else. As a tri-qualified lawyer (England & Wales, Scotland, USA), I personally vouch for and recommend the College of Legal Practice for anyone seeking to qualify as a solicitor who wants to be prepared not only for the SQE 1 and 2 exams, but also for practice.

Fantastic experience. I really enjoyed the whole programme. The flexibility around attendance was invaluable for me as someone working full time, making the GDL genuinely manageable alongside professional commitments (at times working up to 80 hours a week). The support is excellent from academic guidance to pastoral care, you always feel set up to succeed. The staff are not only knowledgeable but also passionate about what they do, which makes a real difference.

I cannot recommend the LLM course highly enough. The support throughout this program has been absolutely exceptional, and I honestly couldn't have completed it without the incredible team.
Special mention must go to Nabeala, Beverley, and Sajida - simply amazing! These three made all the difference to my academic journey.
Nabeela's guidance was absolutely essential to my success. She was incredibly generous with her time and expertise throughout the year. Her support during my Capstone project was invaluable - providing clear direction when I needed it most and helping me navigate the complexities of the research process.
What sets this program apart is having dedicated professionals who genuinely care about student success. Their knowledge, accessibility, and willingness to go above and beyond transformed what could have been an overwhelming experience into an achievable goal.
I'm deeply grateful for the support I received. If you're considering an LLM, look no further - the quality of guidance and mentorship here is truly exceptional.
5 stars doesn't do justice to this experience - I'd give 8 if I could!

My experience at The College of Legal Practice was truly exceptional. As both a Student and an Ambassador, I embarked on a dynamic and immersive e-learning journey that deepened my understanding of England and Wales law while expanding my professional skill set.
The dual role offered a unique vantage point: I not only enhanced my legal expertise through rigorous academic engagement, but also developed targeted marketing competencies by representing the College and supporting its outreach initiatives. This blend of scholarship and strategic communication enriched my perspective and prepared me for multifaceted roles within legal education and practice.
I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to and learn from such an innovative institution.

I had the privilege of being supervised by Nabeela during my LLM dissertation, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She provided exceptional guidance, timely feedback, and constant encouragement throughout my research journey. Her depth of knowledge, patience, and ability to inspire confidence made all the difference in helping me achieve excellent results.
Nabeela not only supported me academically but also motivated me to think critically, refine my work, and aim higher. She goes above and beyond for her students, and her commitment to their success is truly remarkable. I am deeply grateful for her supervision and for the positive impact she has had on my academic and professional development.
For anyone considering the College of Legal Practice, having mentors like Nabeela is an invaluable part of the experience.

The course was very extensive and gave a solid study foundation in preparation for the exam. Initially, at the outset of studies on 3 February 2025, I planned to sit in July 2025. However, I am using it as a guide to prepare for exams in January 2025.
I also appreciated key principles, and exam guidance being highlighted throughout the manuals.
It was also appreciated that the tutors were all realistic about how challenging the exams can be and stressed the importance of preparing well.

It was a great and amazing experience to be part of The College of Legal Practice, learn about the SQE, the exam and its process. Knowing where I need to work on and what I need to do more of or study helped me in order to succeed in my SQE prep for the SQE 1. It was a really great opportunity for me and looking forward to going for my qualifications exam.

Balancing full-time paralegal work with SQE1 preparation isn’t easy, but The College of Legal Practice makes it achievable. The SQE1 Prep Course is clearly structured around the SRA assessment, with a strong focus on black letter law, fair amount of MCQs, and smart revision tools that really help with retention.
The flexibility of the course has been a game-changer. I’ve mostly relied on the weekly recorded workshops, which are easy to revisit on my own schedule. That said, I’d highly encourage attending the live sessions and 1-2-1 with personal tutor where possible, they’re a great opportunity to interact with tutors and consolidate learning in real time.
The course platform is clean and user-friendly, and the volume of practice questions and mock exams has really helped me build confidence. What truly stands out, though, is the academic support. As a scholarship student, I’ve also felt really encouraged, especially Alice who's been consistently thoughtful in checking in and making sure students like me feel supported, seen, and heard. It’s clear the College genuinely cares about its students and wants them to succeed.
For anyone looking for a flexible, affordable, and exam-driven route through SQE1, I’d wholeheartedly recommend the College of Legal Practice.

A Flexible, Supportive and Career-Focused Learning Experience
Studying at the College of Legal Practice has been one of the best decisions I’ve made on my legal journey. As someone balancing work and study, I’ve found their fully online and flexible structure incredibly valuable. The platform is easy to use, and the materials are well-organised, practical, and aligned with the GDL and SQE assessments.
What sets CoLP apart is the level of support from tutors and supervisors—they’re approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about your progress. As a student ambassador, I’ve also seen how committed the team is to improving the student experience and supporting our professional development.
If you’re looking for a modern, accessible, and career-focused route to qualifying as a solicitor, I highly recommend the College of Legal Practice.

I’m currently enrolled in the SQE1 preparation programme and have had a wonderful experience overall. The efficiency of communication with the COLP’s staff, their willingness to help, the quality of the preparation materials, the timely updates, and many other aspects have all been excellent. I would like to specifically highlight the quality of the dedicated subject surgeries provided throughout the course. The presenters demonstrate a high level of expertise, and many complex concepts have become much clearer to me after attending these sessions.
I’ve studied my LLM with the college and I have to say it’s the best choice I made. Staff are super helpful, kind and make you feel supported and not just a number on a sheet. Passed my SQE exams first time as well and it just would not have been possible without the course materials the college gives. You have lectures, 121s, designated tutors and if you can’t make the live sessions everything’s recorded. Plus loads of materials and revision tools- Thank you so much to the team! If you need a flexible , distance learning but fully supportive studying environment then this is the place for you!
