We rented a lovely apartment in Carbis Bay. The views were amazing and the location was excellent.

Would definitely book with Cornish Gems again an excellent holiday experience very professional and personalised service. Our cottage was lovely and everything was spotless for our arrival.

Just had a wonderful long weekend in Meva Seas, Mevagissey. Beautiful house and fantastic views over the sea and coastline. We couldn't have been more comfortable and feel totally relaxed and rested. Well done Cornish Gems, you have delivered on every aspect again!

I booked 2 properties with Cornish Gems for family holidays, 1 was Harbour Heights which was a beautiful clean property.
All Good.
The other booking was Little Polkerris, where the dishwasher was broken and pans & cutlery were in short supply.Not to the same standard as above. We had a family BBQ and I singed a tiny area of grass. I`m sure this would have regrown within a week. Cornish Gems have withheld my Son`s £250 deposit which was very disapointing. It seems very petty.
On that basis and reading other reviews would not use again. Paul Shaw

Driftwood is an amazing house for a really enjoyable holiday. It has everything you need for a perfect stay. It's location makes it easily accessible to both fabulous beaches and exploring the local area and further afield. Highly recommended.

Third time using thee guys for our autumn Cornish getaway. Each time we have been treated to an excellent and impressive property which has made our stay truly wonderful. Can’t recommend enough

We have used Cornish Gems before, however after our most recent stay we will not be using them again. Firstly, the property had no hot water or heating on arrival and we had to wait until the next afternoon for it to be fixed. The property was also incredibly overpriced for what it was (minuscule with no storage whatsoever). We were also informed that the property owner has never seen the property, so how they can come up with a suitable price point is beyond me. On top of this, the property was unclean with dirty sides and unclean kitchenware. After having to chase them constantly after raising a complaint, we were offered nothing but a “sorry, but we did come and fix the heating”. After letting them know this was unacceptable we were offered a hamper...for a trip that cost well over 2k and was way below an acceptable standard. Cornish gems have tried to place all the responsibility on the property owner, which is unbelievable, as they are the ones managing and representing the property. Incredibly disappointed with the whole experience. After looking at other negative reviews, it’s clear that Cornish Gems have a habit of ignoring complaints and doing absolutely nothing to make up for their bad service!

I would like to pass on some feed back regarding booking Reservation Id 55071

Firstly I would like to say what a brilliant location the property was in for walking into st ives and the local beaches!

The property’s need a simple sign so you know where they are as we drove past them several times and the other residents said the same.

The house itself wasn’t really the Cornish gem we was expecting to be totally honest for the price we paid.
And also the deposit system for damage which is totally fine under normal circumstances when a property is pristine which this one wasn’t.

We had to re clean the property as it wasn’t really clean.
And definitely not covid clean with finger marks and other items on things like light switches and around the sinks

Human hairs on the sinks that wasn’t ours!!

Dusty and cobwebs everywhere

Front door area into the house full of sawdust from some work that has obviously been done!

Huge bird droppings on the inside of the front door that looked like been there for some time!

Mark’s across various walls and floors.

Stains and patches across the wooden floor.

Missing plug socket facias on plug sockets in bedroom

The walk in shower in bedroom 1 broken sharp tile near the drain.
And loose tiles this also made the shower room stink of drains as water not going down the drain!

The toilets that were in the en-suites when you flushed the toilet in one room .
What was in the bowl ended up in the other toilet in the other bathroom!!

The balcony hasn’t been cleaned for several weeks as there was old leaves all across the balacony

The outside lights on balcony didn’t work so couldn’t use that at night!.

First night the hotel across the road was emptying there bottle bins 11:30 pm not that must of an issue as we were awake.

Following morning 5am delivery trucks and bins being emptied
Another morning we thought it was pouring down with rain 6am got up to have a look no it was a window cleaner washing the windows!
Then every morning was woken from 5-6am every morning by bottles bins being emptied.
The windows need extra sound proofing due to this..
TVs in the property’s was pointless due to poor signal for ariel so half channels missing or screen freezing up.
Wi-fi is nonexistent and ridiculous that supposed to think it’s fine to share the Wi-fi with the hotel across the road..

The pots,plans,cutlery,plates ,glasses was all mish mash dirty and some damaged and cracked
The fridge had all the door shelves were missing
Carpark bins a disgrace there was bags of towels, bedding left by the bins that didn’t move all week aswell as bags of rubbish even though there was space in the bins

We took a load of photos for our own security of losing the deposit!

We did get. A phone call from a lady few days after being there told her there was few issues but nothing that could really be sorted whilst were there.
Told somebody would be in touch still waiting
As regards to cleaning if can’t be done property between the hours of 9am and 6pm change over day then no hope doing it whilst we’re there….

Seems as it was up for sale it’s been forgotten about but still happy to charge premium prices for a not so premium property…

I did think I would have had a call back after filled the feedback form in and can’t leave feedback on the property page and some of these issues.
Other holiday makers should be aware of as we wouldn’t stay there again.

We booked with your company due to the all Alleged luxury properties.
After staying in one of them I would think twice about booking again.

We stayed in a lovely flat Carbis Bay. The flat was pretty much as advertised. The main living/dining/kitchen area was bigger than we expected but the bedrooms were smaller. The latter wasn’t helped by the use of quite chunky furniture. The service we received from Cornish Gems was excellent. This break was cancelled twice due to Covid and we received clear fast communication. Whilst we were there all our queries were answered quickly.
The downside were the Covid rules which meant you couldn’t check in until 6pm and had to be out by 9am on the day of departure. This was a real pain. You have to strip the beds and put the linen in one back, put the sheets in another as well as empty the bills – no time just to sit and enjoy your last breakfast

This was our second holiday with Cornish Gems and we have been very impressed both times. The booking process is very easy and the quality of the cottages is fantastic. We stayed near Padstow in Karanithe which is small but perfectly formed! Lovely cottage with a secure garden for our two dogs which was brilliant. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. We were very lucky with fantastic weather for October and visited some fabulous places. We will definitely return for another Cornish Gems holiday in the future. Worth the very long journey from north Northumberland.

The cottage was fine but not happy with Cornish Gems policy on departing by 9am & having to strip the beds & put out rubbish before leaving. Thats not what I call a holiday. It was so rushed on the morning of departure that we forgot to take several items home with us. I know they will quote covid but most of the UK is trying to return to normal as per the government guidelines. A lovely holiday spoilt at the end. We also asked other holiday makers we met who were not with cornish gems and they were astounded when we told them what we had to do before leaving

Stonesthrow cottage is very beautiful iand located in a sepcial location. The cottage has been very tastefully restored to a high standard. Our only complaint would be that some aspects felt a little tired - maybe the end of season blues? There were a few things that seemd a bit worn out - the hot tub cover was broken, the main dishwasher didn't work and there was a bit of a mish mash of glasses and cutlery. This didn't spoil out week away as the property location is amazing in a very quiet rural location close to a stunning secluded sandy cove. There are lots of lovely walks from the door. It is also very convenient for other attractions in that part of Cornwall. I can highly recommend Stonesthrow Cottage.

The property is a delight. Suited our purposes exactly and what a stunning location. Waking up and looking over the bay to St Ives was brilliant. The location is also ideal for exploring the west end of Cornwall. Everywhere seem so close. It's a shame the local pub is not up to the same standard but there is the Bucket of Blood about a mile away for real cornish ale and good pub food. One downside is that the sky on the Padstow Jigsaw is really difficult to do. We failed. The Cornish Gem's team were a great support and really wanted to make sure we had a good time.

I stayed at Alta near Falmouth fantastic house and location. I would definitely recommend it.

What a great apartment with 180 degree views over St Ives.
The apartment was spotlessly clean, the kitchen, diner, lounge were bright and airy and had great views over St Ives.

We recently stayed at The Porthminster Mews 3 in St Ives. On returning home we logged an official complaint. Our main reason for complaint was in regards to the cleanliness of property. However the general poor condition and appearance of the property was unacceptable as was the lack of support from Cornish Gems in resolving our issues! On arrival it was obviously that very little if any cleaning had taken place:
* The bathrooms were disgusting with urine and faeces stains on all the toilets. The bath in the main bedroom was covered with pubic hairs and there was lots of stubble on the rim of the bath where a used razor had been. The bath in the second bedroom also had a number of pubic hairs and was just generally grimy!  
* The floors in the property were filthy with random bits of rubbish everywhere.
* The bed duvets were dirty. The one in the second bedroom had a horrible blood stain on it.
* All of the surfaces were covered in dust, the kitchen work top was splashed with food stains as was the dining table and dining table mats.
* There were bits of food in the kitchen cupboard handles
* The oven tray had the remains of what looked like fish fingers, with the rest of the fish fingers being on the floor and under the kitchen table!
* The kitchen sink area had obviously not been cleaned as there was food in the plug hole and a dirty wet sponge on it!
 
I could continue, but you get the idea. With the extra level of cleaning that is supposed to be taking place due to COVID it is all the worse! 

To try and get the issues resolved I immediately rang the property manager and Cornish Gems. To cut a long story short after many calls and emails over two days the only issue that was resolved was the dirty oven!

In terms of the general poor condition of the property it is desperate need of maintenance and a deep clean:
* The carpets are stained and there are bits of the wooden floor missing. My daughter cut her foot on an exposed carpet grip on the stairs.
* The bathrooms are very tired, with discoloured grout and yellow sealant. In the main bathroom three of the spotlights were broken as was the extractor fan. This made it almost unusable as it was so dark as there is no window. (We did ask the hotel if they could replace the bulbs, but obviously they didn’t)
* When the taps are used all the pipes squeak.
* The rooms need re-painting. It is obvious that some random bits of the rooms have been repainted badly.
* The mattresses on the beds are old you can feel the springs. The pillows are pointless.
* The curtains are filthy and the blind in the kitchen was failing down.
* The carpark is a rubbish tip and is generally unkept.
* I was also very concerned that the safety check on the boiler was out of date.
* The property is very different to how it appears on the website.

Cornish Gems have acknowledged our complaint, but after almost seven weeks after sending our complaint we have heard no more from them. Great customer service!

We have previously stayed with Classic cottages in St Ives and on all occasions the properties were spotless and luxurious. We will never use Cornish Gems again!

We have just come back from a wonderful week in St Ives staying at Sea Air. The accommodation was fantastic and literally a stones throw from the harbour. The bedroom window had the most fantastic view that I am missing already. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to return to such a lovely cottage...definitely a Cornish Gem x

Just returned from a week in Carbis Bay. This is the first time using Cornish Gems and really pleased with property and service. Couldnt ask for better. Sandsifters Retreat was excellent, the property was immaculate. Cornish Gems kept in touch with us regularly before and during holiday to check everything was satisfactory. Would have no hesitation in booking with them again. Enjoyable holiday in a lovely property. Thank you.

Ignored our complaint and poor service generally. Booked an apartment via them for a week in St Ives.- having paid a premium, one would expect the property and standards generally to match- they didn't..The accommodation deep clean (meaning we could access the accommodation at 6pm) was non existent- dirty plates and tables amongst other things

We only found out a few days ahead of travelling (once we received the literature) that the parking was useless- it was only for a medium sized car...no mention on the site.

Would steer clear... their veneer of offering excellent service is just that- lacking depth and is nothing other than superficial marketing.
