Everything perfect until the last day…
Everything perfect until the last day when I had an accident and a helicopter evacuation off the mountain to Albertville. My daughter had to pack our belongings and catch a bus/train to Albertville to get to the hospital. It was a very stressful time for her and a little more support from the Crystal Rep in Courcheval would have been appreciated. Other than this it was a perfect holiday and we would love to return and will use Crystal in the future.

Really poor communication causing stress & anxiety due to expected long delays in the airport.

Good holiday but lost bag
Booking process & app great. Resort and accommodation was lovely. Skihire shop was v helpful. Ski school & lift passes which sorted.
Unfortunately my daughters bag was lost at Manchester airport so I didn’t have this for first two days & had my kids ski gear in. Was v stressful for me with my kids skiing for the first time. First day spoiled by this & kids v upset. Had to go and buy new things to enable them to ski, which was a pain. Reps nice & supportive at the airport. Was told tho I’d be given support at the resort but never saw the rep once at the resort. Support was poor once there. Got a few texts recommending things later in week but too late. Rang helpline to chase bag, were v friendly & helpful but heard nothing after that. Luckily my bag just reappeared randomly with a delivery van. Had no communication to tell me they’d found my bag which would have been helpful

Great Location
Great value for money in a fabulous location - a 50 m walk to the slopes.
The negative reviews on Le Chaix need some context. The staff are fabulous - helpful and friendly. It is clean, simple, basic and the beds are a bit narrow but we had a fabulous view from our balcony.
The meals are fine - nothing cordon bleu and no choice, but perfectly acceptable.
The restaurant on the 4th floor has to have one of the best views in the resort.
Highly recommended if you want to be out skiing all day in an excellent resort.
Le Chaix is perhaps not so great if your party has a non-skier, you tend to ski half-days or you want a mid-week day off as it's not a hotel to "hang around in".

Great location but let down by the food.
Hotel location was great, very close to piste and the transfers to and from the hotel were brilliant. Rooms were comfortable but basic and a little cramped for 3 people, room cleaning was a bit hit and miss. Boot room was very small so busy at peak times and the boot warmers in our locker didn't seem to work! Breakfast was good but the dinner options were disappointing with a salad bar and limited hot options most days so we ended up eating out most nights.

No flights from our nearby airport
No flights from our nearby airport, Newcastle; lack of management at Chambery airport when traveller's bus allocations had been mixed up, resulting in first-time reps at the airport being in a state of panic. Non-availability of Newcastle flights to Italy and France along with inflated prices to Austrian resorts now prohibitive - having used Crystalski for 30+ years.
Tignes 1800, MMV Altaviva, were excellent. Lovely staff at the accommodation. Met our rep, Max on arrival, he is a good lad.

The whole trip was faultless
The whole trip was faultless. Communications from CrystalSki before, during and after the trip meant I really didn’t have to worry about organising myself. Flight times were very civilised. Transfers a little confused on arrival at Chambery but quickly and professionally sorted. Accommodation (Odalys Tourotel) was a wonderful ski in, ski out and with brilliant amenities in the apartment and the hotel itself. Val Thorens is a superb resort - loved that it was so pedestrian and the selection of little shops and restaurants. Nothing beats a fresh croissant from Sherpa with a little cup of tea and a view of the sunrise over the mountains. The ski school, Prosniege, excellent - accommodated my partner for a couple of days, including a switched day part way through and our instructor was the GOAT! Milan got me from pizza on day 1 to blues and reds on day 3, all the way through lots of off piste and some experience of moguls and black. Felt like I learned so much and improved dramatically. Milan, I’d come back to Val Thorens just for lessons with you - thank you for being wonderful.
Will definitely book with Crystal Ski again - clearly know how to run a slick operation - kudos.

Crystal were well organised both before and during the holiday.
Good ski in ski out hotel if you have skied before otherwise about 15 min walk to skischool.

Hotel was very busy the week we were there so restaurant busy,hot and cramped and queues at breakfast and tea.
Ski school classes we felt were too big and if you have been before you willknow that 9 amstart with kids is a rush !
However as a family we enjoyed our week and def worth considering PassoTonale as a family holiday ( more for beginners and intermediates)

Great ski trip for families
This was an amazing ski trip for my granddaughter who had a fab time at Passo Tonale and enjoyed the slopes! We would definitely return! Crystal staff communication was good and hotel very clean and nice food. Only down side was queues and breakfast could have been a bit earlier as a rush. There was no meal in a restaurant which was an offer and neither was there a kids club or activities although the children enjoyed the pool which was great.
There were lots of positives with the spa and alcohol for those who like a glass with their meal. One staff /waiter at the Hotel Paradiso removed a bottle of red wine from our table as there was a bottle of white, however I don’t like white and my husband drinks white and I only wanted one glass as rarely drink. This waiter let the rest of the staff team down as never smiled and was quite rude at times when the rest were all lovely.
We were not advised of the additional cost to use the pool and spa and this was promoted as part of the holiday so we paid anyway.
We really enjoyed the holiday experience and would return and with a few teaks would be a 5 score! Many thanks

Super spring skiing in the sunshine
Fantastic family friendly resort with great conditions, lovely accommodation and sunshine every day! Our three children (13, 11 & 8) particularly enjoyed the 'fun trails' around the pistes, complete with tunnels, bells and humps. Even the week after Easter there was enough snow to have a really fun week. Crystal Ski, who we booked our holiday through, could not have done more to make sure we had a good week - I would definitely recommend them.

The majority of the holiday was great…
The majority of the holiday was great but Crystal let itself down mostly by not updating the app in a timely manner. We appreciate that we were travelling late in the season but it would have been helpful if it had been drawn to our attention that the lift areas were starting to close down a couple of days into our stay. Fortunately, there were enough lifts and restaurants still available for the skiers to get a couple of hours per day. Also, there was no evidence of any rep in the airports, hotel or resort. We are experienced with ski holidays and have been to the area before so we could cope but it would have nice to know what to expect. Perhaps the most significant thing was no return travel details were available in the app. Fortunately we also received them by email and could work them out ourselves but it was disconcerting to keep checking the app and there be no details. The hotel and staff were brilliant and exceedingly helpful.
