The course was exceptionally well organised, the teaching was top notch, and the group of writers created a genuinely stimulating forum for discussing literature. I would recommend this course to anyone serious about developing their writing.

Anna was excellent and very helpful. The two critiques I had were good but a bit advanced for a beginners course. The technical problems I experienced were addressed but I couldn’t solve a couple of important ones. What was disappointing was the poor response from others on the course. Only about five of us posted and responded to others. Needs more participants. So different to the bootcamp which is much cheaper.

I did the 3 month course writing for children with Catherine Johnson. I was surprised to get on it, but I was accepted straight away. I learnt a lot from Catherine, and it was on very busy course. We met agents at the end, and the feedback from my tutor was very helpful. There is also a good follow on support after the course, but I haven't finished writing my book yet. It was quite expensive, but well worth doing.

The Writing Fiction with Kate Moss was the best writing course I've taken part in. Lots of practical, in depth advice and guidance. Please do more Kate Mosse courses!

The topics were clearly set out and the prompts were motivating. I enjoyed being part of a community of fellow writers, sharing our work, and both giving and receiving constructive criticism.

Very useful course, combining practice and theory, rich in content and with materials that provide valuable support to ongoing improvement in a writer's practice. I learned new techniques, and when to apply them. That's not always the case with online courses. Would highly recommend.

I completed an online 30-day bootcamp with CBC which was both practical, challenging and encouraging.

The daily content was both video and written with exercises for each day. The content essentially worked through the basics of novel writing covering off most of the key elements. I perhaps would have appreciated a bit more on dialogue as that's an area I'm needing to develop.

I enjoyed the interaction between fellow students (about 40 in all) as we were able to read and comment on each other's exercises.

I struggled to keep pace with the course after starting very late, however, appreciated that it was open for 2 weeks post the end of it so I can complete it in my own time.

I'm not sure the description of this bootcamp was accurate. Although I still feel like a beginner, the whole thing felt too basic and very hands off for me. Input from the CBC teams was incredibly light, often feeling non-existent, with such short videos covering 3 or so days that it hardly felt that they were useful at all. I appreciate that a part of my disappointment may have been a misunderstanding of the starting level, but I do not feel I took anything at all helpful away.

This is a great introduction to creative writing. The price doesn't represent the high quality of information and guidance you receive. Highly recommend for first time creative writing interests.

Curtis Brown presents valuable information, but the video could be more engaging for students. Breaking up longer stretches of explanation with more interactive or dynamic elements might help maintain attention. Additionally, instead of assigning a single 700-word piece right away, a more gradual progression could better support student learning—such as multiple assignments at 100, 200, 500, and then 700 words. This scaffolded approach would allow students to build confidence and skills step by step.

I sent a script to Curtis Brown back in October 2025..their auto reply came back they contact within in two days (within office hours) 3 months later still waiting so emailed them again .. still nothing .. if its a rejection then let me know and not ignore it...

The boot camp course was well-structured and helped writers in many ways, particularly novices. I would have appreciated at least one or two live sessions where we could see some of the other participants and hear some comments about our writing.

So far I've completed two Curtis Brown online writing courses, and they were both excellent value for money with solid advice, clear instructions, a video tutorial (with captions) and a transcript. The tasks were achievable despite the daily discipline; you just have to commit to making the time. My writing and ideas have definitely benefited, and I will no doubt do more courses in the future.

Enlightening to hear from one of the most prominent figures in the literary world an in depth and exceptionally frank explanation of what the literary agent does. The information and advice on the process from offering representation through to publication in the UK and other countries and receipt of royalties is priceless. The course structure of videos, materials and feedback reports and tutorials follows a well-established and comprehensive methodology present in other Curtis Brown Creative online courses I have attended.

The month-long bootcamp is a great course for brushing up on skills.

I'm currently doing the 30 day boot camp and finding it great fun. Lots of interesting prompts and I'm enjoying the interaction with other members of the group, reviewing each others' work
