We had an amazing representative…Nikki Chantelle
We had an amazing sales representative and she went above and beyond. She fitted me with a bra for the first time I’ve ever felt comfortable and was so easy to be around.

A dinasoar of a company. I bought a pair of shoes to the store at Macarthur Square but I wasn't sure they would match my bridal party dress colour but they were the last pair and the height and design was perfect. The saleswoman at the time of purchase told me I had one month to return them as long as i had proof of purchase. I took a photo of my receipt to make sure because I am notorious at losing receipts. She told me that was a great idea. On returning to the store I was informed its not enough to have a photo of the receipt unless the entire barcode is clear enough to scan. Despite there, being a date and time and transaction number on the image, the lower part of the bar code was not in frame. I wish she had told me about that at the time when I was taking the photo. But, seriously? Despite the sales lady, remembering me and telling me that I would be able to come back and get a refund if I didn't find anything more appropriate, the manager had to be called and she disappeared into a basement.Somewhere, and i've been waiting for 1 hour and she hasn't yet returned. What kind of a dinosaur of the company is david jones that they can't just look up a receipt on their registers, and why is it not enough that I have a photo of the receipt that proves my purchase? I also have the exact same amount on the exact same date on a statement on my credit card that proves i've paid for it. This is just not acceptable from a modern day giant merchant like David Jones. I certainly will be looking elsewhere in future.
Terrible customer service. Purchased pants online. Received them in okay time. Pants fitted terribly needed to send them back. The app constantly has issues and couldn’t open it. Contacted them about the app and no response at all. Eventually sent email and all they would do is respond with to go in store. Why have someone answering emails with “just go in store”? No experience recessary for their help line or messaging 😂 ended up having to drive over two and half hours to nearest store to be told by a lovely staff member “oh you should have just returned them through post” ….never purchasing clothes or shoes through them again. Previous experience before this had shoes that fell apart after three wears and took four months to get a refund.
Arrogant staff - not sure for what reason. Your job is to serve customers, not to think you’re better than them. You’re in retail and do not have a PHD. Wake up to yourselves
Today I tried to purchase items at the Perth store, iittala has a promotion spend $150 to receive 40% off + spend $200 to receive 50% off. The sales assistant Loretta argued with me for 5minutes disputing the promotion applied to items value separately not in total. I explained that’s not how the sign read and had received the promotion discount on the total of another purchase on the weekend and all she wanted to know was ‘who was it?’
She said she would honour the 50% off on the total only discounted 1 item @ 50% off, not the 2 Payment purchased. Once I’d paid and checked the receipt I pointed out her error and she said it was a system error. Then she retracted her initial ‘I’ll honour 50% off the total to just one item.
She was argumentative and disrespectful claiming she was right, I told her the customer service was disappointing and I’d like a $300 refund on items purchased. She then apologised, but I wasn’t going to be overcharged. I then bought both products online for 50% of the total, as advertised and went to show her to which her only reply was, ‘Oh ok, alright.’
Shame on DJ’s for the appalling customer service from a sales assistant who thought she was better than everyone else but couldn’t understand a promotion in the store she worked at.
David Jones I am writing this message directed mainly at the customers in David Jones who caused both my friend visiting from Scotland and myself great distress this afternoon. Older men and women who were standing outside the toilet area in the lower ground floor of the department store were initially having a racist rant about immigration in Australia while I waited for my friend who has severe Parkinson's Disease to use the bathroom. You could not fail to overhear their racist rant but I ignored that. However for them to then snigger and giggle like schoolchildren while my friend was trying to adjust his belt with his terrible tremor is totally unacceptable. it was obvious that there was an issue as I remonstrated with these people but unfortunately no staff came over to see what was going on or to see if they could help. I would hope that people in Australia would attempt to educate themselves around illnesses such as Parkinson's Disease instead of seeing it as something to mock or laugh at. Even though you do not know what is going on with an individual have the grace to be kind, ask if they are ok, or if you can help instead of sniggering like children at someone with a bad tremor. Having purchased items in other parts of the store we enjoyed our experience with helpful, courteous staff. I have to say that this experience when no assistance was offered would really make me think about visiting your store again. Perhaps if there is clearly a disturbance in the store staff should have training to intervene.
I haven't used all the functions of my Nutribullet yet, but it is a lot easier to clean than my food processor, and it does a better job of breadcrumbs and crushed biscuits. I'm not easily impressed, but I'm very happy I bought this product. Also, the service from DJs was great. My order was processed promptly, and it arrived quickly and was very well packaged.
Online service is hopeless. Send wrong items. Terrible post sales experience. In the end had to do a chargeback via bank to get a refund. Not worth the trouble. Use Amazon instead.
I placed an order a month ago.I still have not received the order. I have email 2 weeks ago ssaid they were processing . Today 20 minutes on phone trying to talk to most one about status of order . No it dropped out. Live chat took some time in queue. He said would make case number. I just wanted an answer. Finally cannot believe this vendor is in London. No dispatch . One assumes you are shopping in Australia
I recently visited David Jones to purchase Dolce & Gabbana ground coffee by Bialetti. When I showed the sales assistant what I was looking for, she quickly dismissed it, saying, “I don’t think we have it.” She made a half-hearted attempt to look around and claimed she had asked a colleague, who also said it wasn’t in stock.
However, I found a whole shelf full of the product just 8 meters away. When I informed her, she feigned surprise, saying, “Oh! Where was that?” This lack of effort and dismissive attitude was disappointing, especially in a store known for its premium service.
Additionally, I found being called “Lovely” unprofessional. I expect courteous and respectful service without overly familiar terms of address.
I ordered three items from David Jones, however they cancelled one of these items due to low stock. This item was the entire reason I placed my order, yet upon contacting them immediately upon receiving the notification they refused to cancel the remaining items or refund my money and told me I would need to do this myself upon receiving them. Definitely will not order from David Jones again!
Despite clearly having plenty of stock available online, after I placed my purchase for a click and collect for the item, David Jones contacted me to say sorry but the item is missing or damaged and they have cancelled my order. Extremely poor customer service. Very very disappointed I will purchase it from Myer instead.
I also left a review with my complaint, which they subsequently deleted.

David jones has a lot of different brands, just hard to find staff to help.
We purchased a Gucci wallet online with David Jones under the condition that it can be returned in store if not completely happy with it. Once received, the wallet turned out to be smaller than expected, so we went to David Jones at the Woden shopping centre, Canberra to get a refund. The sales lady was helpful, but required approval from a floor manager. The floor manager refused to give us the refund, citing various reasons, including they have to repackaging it and send back to their online shopping centre, and it is an expensive item and so on. I cannot see any of the reasons that is sufficient for David Jones not refunding this purchase, as the wallet is in a perfect condition and it is printed on the invoice ‘If you’re not completely satisfied, you may return your purchase in store…’.
We did not want to waste our time to argue with the floor manager. We will just never buy anything from David Jones online or in store again.
