Dobbies Garden Centres - Lisburn Avis 296

Had a problem with a product - had proof of purchase… although I was out of time for a return… the manager give me a full refund - 5 star service at Dobbies’s Lisburn

I wrote in before about the quality of food and service during the pandemic. I brought my 86 year old mother back a few weeks ago and thought that there had been a slight improvement. I was wrong. I brought her back 2 days ago and could only describe the scones as stodgy and inedible. I have been making scones a few times a week during the pandemic: it is not hard to do. I can only point you again towards the scones in Hillmount and Hillside garden centres. Please send your chef there to find out how scones should be made. We won’t be rushing back.

As always the process for paying for shopping in store is a lottery - are there any tills open, what way are people joining a queue
The till staff do not embrace customer service ethos of greeting customers, being polite or helpful
(general tills only - cafe staff are very good)

Coffees were lukewarm, prices are sky high, pastries are being cut much smaller and tables remain uncleared and dirty. We still go to claim our two free coffees per month but never really look forward to visiting the café nowadays.

Supply of plants good just a pity the staff member at till that day wasnt a bit more pleasant, cost nothing to be nice

On our visit we purchased plants and when we went to pay for the goods we were asked by the lady serving us if we wished to join the Dobbies Club at a cost of £12 per year. There was no hard sell, just a simple request. On asking for more details we were given a very thorough explanation and we saw the benefits considering how much we were spending. The lady was fantastic and signed us up, giving us a temporary card. Great service and the lady was a credit to herself and the Dobbies store.

Staff member was friendly and helpful. Flowers always last longer than anywhere else. Great service

While there is a reasonably good range of plants, I ever seem to ba able to get the more slightly unusual ones.
Also I’m very disappointed to learn that unused coffee vouchers can no longer be carried over from one month to the next i don’t recall any notification of this change. My visits have to coincide with hospital appointments ; occasionally two may fall on one month and none in the next.
On a more positive note, both food and service seem to have improved in the cafeteria.

Find what I need and get advice from Stephen who is a very knowledgeable, kind member of staff and is always willing to help.

Not much by way of customer support or available advice.
Very expensive compared to other outlets including B&Q!!! I qualify that as being a Dobbies discount card holder. Still more expensive.

This was a last minute item. Thankfully they had it in and got a nice 20percent discount. Great.

Seems to be less choice in plants especially plants in small pots. Long queues at checkout.

Service is always above and beyond, with expert advice as standard.

Not a great deal of choice in the restaurant. The plants were quite expensive but there was a good selection available. Certainly not back to pre-pandemic options.

Great food and garden stock!!
