Useless, bad quality editing, a total waste of time and money
Enago edited my text and changed 50% of the wording. A totally ridiculous replacement rate. I'm not a native speaker but surely my English isn't that crap. I usually get 5-7% replacement rate which is normal. A lot of edits were useless (changing 'essential' to 'key' as a typical example). Worse, a lot of edits changed the meaning of the text. To their credit they issued a second and third, less heavy edit in a short turnaround time, but these still contained a lot of really bad errors changing the meaning of the text. It surely looks like an AI job with possibly some human intervention afterwards. They pretend to be US based and use English sounding names in emails, but most if not all use Indian English in their communication - why pose as a US based company? Is there something to hide? Some other reviews on Trustpilot support this point. Also, initial email responses are totally besides the point, definitely scripted and perhaps even AI based.
This has been a massive waste of my time. They stubbornly refuse to admit any wrongdoing even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary (I really know what I'm writing and most definitely I can spot changes to the meaning of the text, but Enago think they know better). I'm not sure if this is a true scam or just a really crappy editing service, but in any case avoid Enago at all cost. And Enago, please spare me the typical sycophantic reply to this review saying you're sorry, you'll do better next time, yada yada yada. You know you're not sorry and you don't intend to improve.

I had a deeply disappointing experience with Enago. I entrusted them with my manuscript, expecting professional editing and support, but what I received was far below acceptable standards.
The response time was extremely long, and the entire process—from initial submission to final delivery—took almost three months.
The graphical work was of very low quality, and the final submission was filled with errors.
Worst of all, my article was permanently rejected by the target journal. I do not recommend Enago to any serious academic looking for reliable editing or publication support.

Crimson Interactive (Enago, Ulatus, Voxtab, Trinka)
The company Crimson Interactive and all its brands (ENAGO, ULATUS, VOXTAB, TRINKA) are fake. They claim they get manuscripts edited by skilled and native English speakers (but all the work is done by Indians using AI writing/editing software tools like Wordtune, Jasper, Quillbot, etc. They make fake reviews and testimonials and put it on their websites. They also fake that they are located or have branches in the US (while it's simply call-forwarded to India and someone talks with an American-trained accent). Overall, you can do the editing yourself using this software, instead of paying the company 10x times to do the same for you.
