We would like to clarify the comment about membership. Fitness Singles has members throughout the U.S. and around the world, and the experience can vary considerably depending on location, age range and individual preferences. The number of compatible members available in one person’s area is not representative of membership across Fitness Singles as a whole.

We’ve been connecting active singles since 2003, and “fitness” means different things to different people. Our community includes members interested in strength training, running, cycling, hiking, tennis, swimming, walking and many other active pursuits.

We appreciate your feedback and hope your continued use of Fitness Singles leads to the connection you’re looking for.

We understand the frustration, especially regarding fake or suspicious profiles. Since this review was posted, Fitness Singles has implemented new anti-spam and fraud-detection technology that helps us identify and remove suspicious profiles much more quickly.

Unfortunately, scammers continually change their tactics, so no dating service can guarantee that every bad actor will be caught immediately. However, we've made significant improvements in this area and continue to strengthen our detection systems.

We appreciate the feedback and wanted to address this older review because the experience described does not reflect the anti-spam measures we have in place today.

Fitness Singles has always been designed for active singles, and being active can mean different things to different people. Our members enjoy a wide range of activities including walking, hiking, cycling, swimming, tennis, yoga, and many others. A gym membership or a particular body type is not a requirement to join.

We understand that you were looking specifically for women who share your interest in gym-based fitness, but many of our members stay active in other ways. Our goal is to bring together singles who value an active lifestyle and let each member decide who is the right match for them.

Hi Martin, we recently claimed our Trustpilot profile and are now reviewing earlier feedback that did not receive a response. We recognize that this reply is overdue. We’re sorry the service did not provide the value you expected and that the renewal caused frustration. Our subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled beforehand, and this is disclosed during checkout, in the confirmation email, and in the member’s account area. However, we understand that the charge was not what you expected. Our records show that it was refunded the following day. We’re sorry the experience left you with such a negative impression of Fitness Singles.

Fitness Singles is a niche dating community, so the number of available matches can vary considerably by location, age range, and preferences. We may show members outside your immediate area when there are fewer compatible members nearby rather than limiting your results to a very small number of profiles.

Fitness Singles does not create or use fake profiles. Like other dating services, we do encounter scammers attempting to join, and we’ve recently implemented new anti-spam and fraud-detection technology that helps us identify and remove suspicious profiles much more quickly.

We also strive to be transparent about billing. Subscription renewal terms are disclosed at checkout, again in the confirmation email, and in the member’s account. Members can turn off automatic renewal directly from their account. We also review refund requests based on the circumstances.

We understand why receiving several expressions of interest and then not receiving replies after subscribing would be disappointing. However, a member may not respond for many reasons — they may no longer be actively using the site, may have started communicating with someone else, or may simply decide not to continue a conversation. Unfortunately, no dating service can guarantee that another member will respond.
What we can assure you is that Fitness Singles does not create fake expressions of interest or messages to encourage members to purchase a subscription. Likes and messages are generated by members of the site.

Hiding a Fitness Singles profile removes it from search and matching results, but it does not prevent members you previously connected or communicated with from sending you a message. As a result, it is possible to receive a message notification even while your profile is hidden.

Fitness Singles does not create or use fake profiles. Like other dating platforms, we do encounter people attempting to create fraudulent accounts, and we’ve recently implemented new anti-spam and fraud-detection technology to identify and remove suspicious profiles more quickly.

We also don’t believe it’s accurate to say that a member who changes their mind is automatically “out of luck.” Refund requests are reviewed based on the individual circumstances and account activity. Subscription and renewal terms are clearly disclosed before purchase, in the confirmation email, and within the member’s account.
