Collected my P525 V8 90 Defender today from Neil Abbey at GC Motors. Fantastic service from start to finish, cannot recommend GC motors and the staff enough. Car is absolutely beautiful and it was a very easy and professional service provided. Special thanks to Neil & Laura. I will definitely be back!

Buying from GC Motors was a very disappointing experience. During the sales process, I was verbally assured by the salesperson (Neil Abbey) that part-exchanging the vehicle whenever I wanted would not be an issue, and that the mileage limits in the agreement would be flexibly managed when the time came.

However, when I attempted to part-exchange, GC Motors and Neil refused to assist, directing me strictly to the terms of the signed agreement with no flexibility offered. Be extremely careful with verbal promises made during the sales pitch, and make sure every commitment is explicitly written into your contract before signing.

I recently bought very nice Mercedes from Meil at GC Motors. The service was excellent from the first contact from Neil, the personal video he sent, the deal and finally the delivery to Scotland. Laura was also a pleasure to deal with. I would thoroughly recommend Neil, Laura and GC Motors as a whole

All good initially - car was a decent price and trade in eventually got to where we could agree a deal. There was an issue with the 5th wheel (Defender) being different to those fitted and it was agreed that this would be ordered and shipped to me by mid June.

On arrival to swap the vehicles, my car that I had driven 3.5 hours was handed over for inspection which I was told would take 1.5 hours, I went away for some food whilst it was being reviewed, I had been completely honest in my assessment highlighting every chip and mark so wasn't worried.

Following my return from lunch I was left for approximately another hour+ waiting, eventually I was called to look at an issue with the car i had driven for 3.5 hours to Harrogate in.. it now had a broken drivers seat which was at such an angle it was touching the rear passenger seats and an airbag light was showing on the dash, neither of which had been on the vehicle before it was delivered to them - and acknowledged by the salesman who drove it in to the work bay for the inspection!

I was then told that it needed £2.5K of repairs before they could take it, I was paying for an extended warranty which I was about to cancel - it was agreed that I would pay an extra month to provide the cover for them to claim. I have now found out that because of the claim i have to fund the balance of the policy, and the claim only happened due to damage incurred during the period they had the vehicle.

Added to this - its now mid July and I am yet to see the 5th wheel which forms part of the deal, despite repeated chasing this falls on deaf ears that don't respond.

If I haven't received the wheel by this time next month I will be pursuing this legally.

You do get a "customer satisfaction" survey after - I'm pretty sure all bad ones get binned, as despite feeding back my concerns I am yet to receive a response.

Updated to a 3 star rating - they paid my warranty (or most of it) for the remaining 3 months, and my wheel turned up .. Cant say I'm happy with the service, however, car is good, good price, got a decent trade in price and eventually got everything covered off.

I recently bought a BMW from GC Motors, the process from start to finish was a breeze. Warren and Rob were brilliant with me and helped guide me through evryone step and answered any questions I had.

Ps, the valet was brilliant.

Neil Abbey provided an excellent service as did young Noah in sales and Tracey on reception. I'll definitely use GC motors again in the future.

I recently purchased a car from CQ motors even though I live some 100 miles away. The deal and trade in were agreed over the phone using video and pictures so that when I made my trip to Harrogate this was only to finalise things and to pick up the car . Neil was a pleasure to deal with and was very helpful and understanding. I am very pleased with my car and would be happy to revisit them in future.

Great communication from GC Motors ! Neil sent me a detailed video before I visited the showroom which enabled me to decide much more easily on the car I was interested in. It was the most straightforward car sale I have ever experienced- I really don’t like changing cars !! Neil made it so much easier and I will definitely be back next time I need a new car !

I bought a car for 4000 and took it to the shop had breaks, rotors, front end alignment, and a battery a little less than 1000 dollars, and within a couple days of driving it the transmission starts slipping and it's making weird noises when I turn the steering wheel with a load roaring sound. Took it to my mechanic and he looked it up to a 100k meter that tells you what's wrong with the car and the alternator is bad which originally was why I replaced the battery because it tested weak when I took it to a different shop. Then my mechanic drove the car and said wow... I'm surprised the wheel has not broke off... the wheel bearings an axle are bad, and the transmission.... I bought the car for my 19 year old daughter... she could have been seriously injured if not killed driving on the interstate. Now I'm over 5000 in and looking at probably another 5000 to have all the repairs listed. I would never by a car from this place... they sell them cheap for a reason. On top of all that... the dealership replaced the breaks but the rotors where so chewed up the breaks were bad on the 1st drive. Ugh.... I'm so freaking upset.... never again. Before you buy a car do research and never buy from this place.

Neil Abbey is the best sales person I've ever met. Everything about him is perfect. Enthusiasm. Attitude. Free biscuits. Neil is the best sales person I've ever met and I've met lots as I'm old and I've been round the block a few times. I wish everyone was like Neil.He should be an MP. He could run the country.

Dealt with Neil at GC Motors who went above and beyond to assist my enquires on a vehicle I had huge interest in. Neil supported with developing various offers and answering questions about part exchange and offers of delivery to my property. Sadly I wasn't in a position to progress but this did not change the support / understanding of my circumstances and was a pleasure to chat with. I would recommend GC Motors.

Traded in my Porsche Macan against a VW ID Buzz. The salesman, Andy BELL, was friendly & very easy to deal with. GC Motors in Harrogate was a 400 mile drive but everything was set in place for our arrival & the whole buying/trading in process went smoothly. I had expected to be bartered down on the px offer previously made but no games on arrival & the px offered was what was agreed. A really good experience with GCM & made all the better thanks to Andy BELL. Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍👍
