Many of their drivers as well as their customer service representatives reflect on their unprofessionalism and poor quality services in this industry. In a nutshell cheap means cheap services. In fact a one-star rating is overrated for this crap company.

Horrible experience with Hopp in Canada. I’ve used it 11 times, and ride but 1 has made me late to work or miss important appointments. Drivers regularly cancel halfway to your pickup or even when they’re nearby, leaving you completely stranded. Getting a driver to actually show up feels like playing Russian roulette.

Customer service is disrespectful, incompetent and not “understanding” at all. I asked for a partial refund after repeated bad experiences and got a pathetic 10% off a future ride… and even that trip had me late 15 minutes.

On top of that, pricing is often higher than bigger competitors. Stay away from this app especially if you’re in Canada.

Today I needed to go to the airport and decided to use Hopp. Big mistake.
I always plan ahead, so I scheduled my ride in advance. The driver accepted it, and after waiting 12 minutes for him to arrive… he canceled.

What’s wrong with this app? This is incredibly frustrating.

Hopp big liars and scammers . Offered one price , at the end of trip charged higher amount. On my complaint 0 reaction. Just stupid answer from their bot

Ideally I'd like to give a ZERO!!! Worst of them all. Terrible GPS...longest wait times and it's only cheaper when it's doing offers. I can't believe in 2026 a large company can't a proper navigation system. Let's not even mention the drivers constantly canceling after you've waited forever. You're better off taking TTC

I would actually rate it zero star if I can and I would highly advise against using this service. I was driving on the road earlier today. This driver in a black Tesla was engaging in absolutely dangerous reckless driving and disregard of traffic rule. Forcing its way into my lane at the very end when his lane is closed when he clearly sees 2 signs at least stating his lane is for right turn only. Constantly engaging in tailgating activities, forcing itself into my lane dangerously (and backed off after being honked) and repeatedly flashing high beam when I have a toddler in my car. Unless this company start vetting its driver more carefully, this is a disaster awaits.

Cheaper is not better tried to use this service several times. The drivers do not show up or cancel your order. Stay away from them if you can. A disaster and would give a zero rating if I could.

Terrible Terrible Terrible. Never book rides with them. You will regret it. They lie about the estimated time it takes to reach you and automatically cancel the ride right when they are about to pick you. Changed four drivers after making me wait 30 mins for a ride that was supposed to pick me up in 4 mins. All for a cheaper ride - no thank you! This is not just one instance.. its happened several times.

As others are saying STAY AWAY!!! You will be extremely frustrated! 3 times in the past few weeks I scheduled rides. Each time when it was time for my pick up, the driver would park down the street. When I refused to walk 10 mins away to go meet them they cancelled the ride. Horrible company I deleted the app I suggest you do also.!

I was charged by Hopp for a ride I never booked. I didn’t request a trip and still received a charge with no explanation. I tried to contact support, but I couldn’t reach anyone for help. This is very frustrating and feels like an unfair charge. I’m requesting a full refund and better customer support to prevent this from happening again.

Every one star review was valid lol. It never comes to my exact location idky, which isn’t srs like it’s in-front of my house still. Aside from that, not the driver’s fault, but the hopp GPS is always off and it’s confusing for the drivers. Another thing is u should never get a ride with hopp if u don’t have 30mins to spare MINIMUM. If it says it’s a 2 min ride… sometimes it’s on time but a lot of times it’s going to take a good ten+ mins. Some drivers accept the ride when they’re like at a Tim’s (u can see where they’re at) or some will go to the gas station after accepting, which just wastes ur time. A lot of times they’re making so many loopty loops around ur location like idk if it’s the hopp gps or the drivers r just confused? Like JUST DRIVE STRAIGHT. Recently all my rides I end up just paying the little extra on uber or lyft cuz atleast they’re reliable and usually on time. The drivers on hopp always make u wait so long and then CANCEL ON U. No joke today I WALKED UP TO THE CAR AND IT DROVE AWAY… THEN CANCELED! Like r u so for real. And then again same day, another driver is at the gas station for idek how long and then starts driving the opposite way and keeps going and then cancels? Also they will sometimes say they arrived at ur location a little before they’re acc there (not by too long) but as if they want u to miss the waiting period (2 min waiting period) to charge u extra. This app is a mess ngl, id stick w uber or Lyft.

Very disappointed with this app. The final fare was much higher than what was shown when I booked the ride. It feels misleading and unfair. I could have chosen Uber or Lyft for a more transparent experience. Please fix your pricing system.

If I could rate them 0, I would. Stay away from the ride share. They take your money and no ride. What they give you is a credit so that you can book again.
They will do anything and give you every excuse not to give you credit. If it is a short ride, the driver will cancel the ride after 10 minutes. TRUST me, stay far away.

This was my first time using the app after being sent an invite with a promo code. When I went to use the code, it stated it was already used. Which no, because this was my first and last ride. I opened a ticket about not being able to use the code and the Rep told me the same thing it was used already eventhough I sent screen shots of this being my first ride. I wasn't satisfied so another Rep told me it wasn't used it expired. NO WHERE on the offer did it say it expired. The only reason I signed up was for the 60 percent off my first 5 rides. Since that doesn't exist, I going back to uber. They didn't send me another code, nor seemed interested in assisting me. Plus they are not much cheaper anyway

This company is actually so unprofessional, from the drivers to the entire company. This guys drove into a parked car and tried to pretend like everything was okay. Then they are always cancelling rides. Today I had to watch them cancel rides 10times everytime they are 2mins away. Like what do you MEANNNNN. Through the whole app away

Never use Hopp!!! It's a failed bunch of cheats and liars with agents and drivers!
The driver will cunningly click the 'driver has arrived" message; whereas they are no where near! And this failed app/agents of a thing won't track the drivers but still overcharge you for the driver arriving late and wrong pick up spots!
You will have to wait days before their so called gullible support agents attend to you because they keep passing your concerns to one another to pass time!

Never ever trust them to be as driver with them , they are not responsible if something happen and you will be paid for that

worked as a driver with Hopp and had an incident where a passenger vomited in my vehicle. According to the company’s policy, the passenger agreed to pay for the professional detailing/cleaning required. I cooperated by taking the car in for cleaning and submitted the cost. However, Hopp (or the passenger via Hopp) failed to pay the agreed amount.
This kind of experience is very disappointing and creates a serious financial burden for a driver. Before sending my car to cleaning I called them and submitted the mass picture and they asked me to take my car for cleaning and they will pay but later when I sent them invoice they don’t paid , several emails as records I have that as evidence

I would advise other drivers to document all such incidents carefully, insist on written confirmation of the passenger’s liability, and follow up persistently until payment is made.

Terrible experiences non stop. Customer service not giving me my discounts after someone used my codes. Drivers canceling all the time. Brainless drivers who can't drive properly. Takes forever to get a driver.
