As usual excellent service from Eddie and Abbie when we went in to purchase mid walking boots. Always helpful in the Birkenhead store whoever is in the store.

Very Helpful Staff
I selected a cagoule with what I thought was the correct size. Chris thought otherwise and suggested I try it on there and then. He was right and I was wrong and selected the next size up. So thank you Chris for being so very attentive and helpful

Replacement sunglasses
I was served by Abbie today who helped me with replacement sunglasses even though I didn’t have my receipt only a bank transaction she was able to find my receipt and process a replacement pair of sunglasses. Great and speedy service

Great experience/ customer service! Rang to ask did they have a certain tent in stock as I’d been chasing around trying to find one, they only had two and as I was travelling an hour to come and purchase it Abbie said she would keep one back for me.

Good prices and a range of premium and budget tents and bags. Staff are very friendly. As a D of E leader I always welcome their advice. I had an item to return. Refunded with no problem and alternatives recommended. The staff member I saw (Mimi) was exceptionally helpful.

Very pleasant assistants
Very pleasant assistant on ground floor directed me upstairs to the Ladies shoes. There Chris was super quick & efficient and pleasant. I was served quickly & efficiently and bought the exact sandals I wanted. I was in a hurry so very pleased with my experience this morning. I always enjoy going to GoOutdoors Birkenhead.

Poor staff training, and Trading Standards.
Went to buy a lightweight, wide brimmed, hat. Staff member asked if I needed help ; I said what I wanted. Out of several types of hat on display, he offered me a baseball cap, as the only one which was waterproof. I said what about this one, holding a lightweight, wide brimmed hat with "dry" printed on it in large letters ; "oh that isn't waterproof".
I read the label which clearly said it was waterproof, so at £22 displayed price I decided to buy.
Took it to the til, "that'll be £30 please". I told him it wouldn't, and pointed out it was displayed as £22. " Oh sorry, that'll be £27".
I again pointed out it clearly says £22 as displayed. He then went into a dialogue about the displayed price being a members price, and that £5 has to be added onto the displayed price for non members.
I stated that this was a clear breach on Trading Standards legislation, as it was misleading.
I reluctantly paid £27, and left.
I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN GO OUTDOORS AGAIN".
