GO Outdoors - Nottingham Avis 

Rowan in the Arnold, Nottingham branch was polite and extremely helpful, offering advice when I bought my walking shoes last week.

Called into GO Outdoors Nottingham today on the hunt for a new pair of walking boots after losing my grip on a rock and ending up in a stream… all thanks to my furry four-legged friend! 🙄🐶

I originally had a specific pair of boots in mind, but unfortunately they didn’t have my size in stock, so I was left wondering what to go for instead.

Thankfully, Rowan was brilliant. She took the time to help me try a range of different brands and styles, and after trying on several pairs we finally found a pair that fitted my wide feet perfectly.

The only downside was they were more expensive than the boots I’d originally planned to buy. But Rowan then told me about GO Outdoors’ Price Match Promise and didn’t just leave it there she actually helped me find the same boots cheaper online, saving me even more money!

Well… almost. The money I saved ended up going on a new pair of walking socks instead! 😂

Genuinely fantastic customer service from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, and Rowan went above and beyond to make sure I left with the right boots at the best price.

Thanks again, Rowan! You’re a credit to the team. 😁👏

Customer service was absolutely terrible, staff didn’t have a clue and basically couldn’t be bothered all of them just mopping around the shop and hiding from customers and eventually after actually tracking someone down the “can’t be bothered “ attitude was very frustrating
Why am I paying for the go outdoor card and receiving such awful service?
I will not return to the Arnold branch again and I will not be renewing my go outdoor membership again

I didn't receive notification that my item was ready to collect. Fortunately I called in to check and got it on the day before it was due to be sent back.
The staff member I spoke to was very helpful and friendly.

Looking for good quality waterproof sandals in the Nottingham shop. They didn't have my size in the style/colour that I wanted, but Emma was really helpful. She brought out different sizes, styles and colours so I could refine exactly what I wanted. She then went online and found them on another retailer's site, where I then bought them. It seemed above and beyond the call of duty, hence this review.

Order delivery on time,staff at shop very friendly and helpful but professional made to feel welcome .

We easily found what we needed and able to buy the members card and get the discount there and then. 🙂

We needed a bigger tent but wasn’t sure on what extras we should look at, Fraser bestwick was a great help. He advised what came with it and what we would need. He loaded everything up for us and took it too the tills for us. Checked we was happy with everything. Really friendly and helpful!. Highly recommend finding Fraser if your unsure on what your doing as his knowledge was second to none. ☺️

It was ready to collect after two days.

All of the staff that served me from the lady on the shoe department to the girl on the tills were super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The store is always organised and tidy as well.

Came in because my tire came off my wheel and got helped by Francis - he took care of us and got the bike fixed in seconds. Helped me and my dad get the right multi tool and choose a pump. Great lad and was super positive 🙌

Fantastically tidy and organised shop. Alex on tills was lovely and sorted out our discount friendlily and efficiently :) Went above and beyond and is a credit to the shop.

Called into the store on Monday to enquire about trekking poles. We were approached by a member of staff who I have later found out is named Maria. Although there were three of us, this did not face her at all and we were all instantly impressed with her obvious and encyclopedic knowledge on the stock from how to adjust each one to the appropriate height the rubber bones on the bottom The additional things that stop the stick sinking into very soft soil. One of us wanted to buy some socks and her knowledge on even those was impressive.

On Thursday we returned with The person who needed the sticks we were importing our knowledge to him and we noticed she became free and once more not only did she have the most engaging personality but was able to show him how to walk with the pole and it was like watching a miracle curb before my eyes. His gait was transformed.

Her advice to the same person on hiking boots and sandals was 2nd to none including how to properly put them on and fasten them so that your feet do not slip forward and toes touch the front of a correct fitting/fastened shoe.

As I wanted a new backpack she even offered to take the chosen items and put them behind the tills so we weren’t lugging them round the store.

The store itself was clean, cool tidy and an Aladdin‘s cave of outdoor related items

I became a member on Monday when socks were purchased and on Thursday was able to get my bag discounted saving £65 on the purchase on a £5 membership fee. I’m converted this is a fantastic store with members of staff who are friendly knowledgeable and a credit to the company.

I was very impressed by the ambience of the store,the range of goods and the way that they were displayed. The staff were friendly and helpful. In particular Maria was very patient and informative both on the subject of walking poles and shoes, displaying not only a broad knowledge across the range but also how particular medical conditions could be helped . I recommended the store to others based on my experience.

Always great choice, tidy and easy to find sections you're looking for. Great membership discount too 🙂

Went in to buy a few items on one of the hottest days of the year and was grateful for the professional and speedy service I received from staff. Served by Nicole at the till who was very upbeat and made sure that I had everything I needed and that any discounts had been applied. I know I was one of many customers, but Nicole’ approach, enthusiasm and engagement made me feel that my custom was genuinely wanted by Go Outdoors. Great job.
