I have had a very bad experience with Groomofjesmond. I have contacted the company with my complaints twice and have had no response. I was not happy with the manner in which we were quoted for alterations to a wedding dress as the seamstress appeared to pluck a figure out of mid air. There was no breakdown of the hours needed to complete the task. She did not measure my daughter correctly. We were left with no realistic choice about going ahead with the alterations as they had only given us an appointment near to the wedding day. I wonder whether this is a deliberate strategy on their part.

I have recently had the dress dry cleaned and looked closely at the hemline and alterations to the seams. The hemline is very jagged and uneven where it was supposed to be altered. The seam allowances have not been regraded after altering so that some seam allowances are very bulky.

As a dressmaker myself I am well aware of the amount of time needed to alter a dress such as this and it in no way justifies the fee we paid. My advice would be to go elsewhere.
