Poor service from a PA
Well ……
I attended the surgery and saw a PA who did not tell me they were a PA .I was led to believe the PA was a GP. I had two ailments… they told me they would only deal with one as that was the practice now and told me to go to a chemist for the other which was a sore throat from hell which I had had for several days prior. I was told to attend the chemist/pharmacy who would deal with this condition and who when I attended put me into a side room of the chemist which was untidy with stocked boxes with no day light. They said nothing was wrong. They used no means of light to check. I knew this was wrong so I then went to another chemist/ pharmacy who said…yes throat infection and oral thrush as well. Antibiotics given and I then went on holiday. Saw another GP whilst abroad as the sore throat hadn’t cleared up and who then gave antibiotics as well as treatment for the oral thrush to be taken after the course of antibiotics had been completed.
The system is broken… surely this is very poor service…… the discomfort went on for about three weeks which was unnecessary
Everytime you make an appointment with…
Everytime you make an appointment with GP you end up seeing a Physiotherapist Chiropractic Osteopath Practioner nurse but never a doctor.Whats going on?Where are the doctors gone?I think it’s just cheap Labour and patients will not notice. Its like rather than having a pilot today you will the flight attendant flying the plane. Now the GP have started diagnosis on the phone and giving advice before even talking or sre the patient.Brilliant must be a new strategy that’s been implemented.Whatever system that’s being used is not patient friendly and getting an appointment you have more you chance seeing a UFO.
Do GP’s visit illegal immigrants to provide medical assistance of any nature?
I had a deeply unsatisfactory…
I had a deeply unsatisfactory experience with Dr Jipin Das Kizhakkepatt. I attended the appointment to discuss specific concerns, supported by evidence, and to request a referral to secondary care regarding issues affecting my health. Unfortunately, my concerns were met with a dismissive attitude rather than a thorough or considered assessment.
Throughout the consultation, the doctor demonstrated poor listening skills and a lack of engagement with the information I presented. I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously, and I had to repeatedly assert my rights as a patient to be properly assessed. Even then, there was clear reluctance to proceed with an appropriate referral.
What was particularly concerning was the suggestion that I seek private care instead, which felt inappropriate given the context. This experience reflects other reviews I have since read, which also highlight similar issues around indifference and poor patient engagement.
It is disappointing to encounter this level of care, as it falls short of the standards expected within the profession. Patients should feel heard, respected, and supported in accessing appropriate care pathways—none of which I experienced here.

Hall Green Health Centre must be avoided!
Hall Green Health Centre has become extremely difficult to access and frustrating to deal with. The waiting times for appointments are unreasonable, and the online booking system regularly shows no appointments available at all. Calling the surgery is equally frustrating, as calls often go unanswered or involve long waits, which means patients simply miss out on care.
It is clear that the practice needs to hire more staff to manage both phone calls and appointment requests. What makes this situation more confusing is that when you do attend the surgery, it often appears quiet and underused. There should be the ability to book appointments throughout the day rather than patients competing for limited slots.
Another major issue is the way appointments are handled. Patients are expected to book separate appointments for different health concerns. If you attend with more than one issue, only the one listed at booking is discussed. For example, if you book for migraines but also need help with depression, you are told to book another appointment instead of being supported during the same visit. This is not patient centred care and creates unnecessary delays for people who are already struggling.
Overall, the systems in place at Hall Green Health Centre make it difficult for patients to access timely and appropriate care. The practice urgently needs to improve its booking process, staffing levels, and approach to appointments to ensure patients are listened to and treated holistically.
I have had many extremely poor experiences
I have had many extremely poor and worrying experiences with Hall Green Health Centre. Am example of one is when I was seriously unwell for months and repeatedly complained about ongoing pain, I asked for multiple appointments which were refused or when I had them they were over the phone advising me to take antibiotics or pain killers.
One day it was very bad and I couldn't stop being sick, I was in agony and felt like my insides were on fire so I tried to make an appointment explaining all of this only to be told it's a viral infection and that there was nothing to worry about. Less than 20 minutes later the pain became unbearable and I had to call an ambulance. Paramedics assessed me and confirmed I had a ruptured appendix. I was taken in for emergency surgery and there was already an infection present.
This situation could have been avoided if my concerns had been taken seriously earlier. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. There have been many occasions where patients raise genuine concerns and are dismissed or told it is nothing, as though we do not understand our own bodies.
More recently, I have been trying to get another appointment for over two weeks using the online system, with no response and no appointment arranged. It is almost impossible to get through on the phone as there are clearly not enough staff to handle calls, which means patients lose out on appointments altogether.
When I do manage to attend in person, the practice often appears empty, which raises serious questions about access and availability.
I have completely lost confidence in this surgery and the way patients are treated. I will be reporting these issues to the Care Quality Commission, as patient safety and access to care are clearly being compromised.

Dr Arif is such a brilliant GP
Dr. Arif is an exceptional GP, and I truly feel fortunate to be under his care. His professionalism, expertise, and genuine concern for his patients are unparalleled. If it was not for him, I would have definitely considered switching to another surgery. I also want to highlight how wonderful the hospital referral staff are—always polite, helpful, and supportive throughout the process.
Thanks,
Shabana

Last time I needed a doctor was more than a year ago. I went to the pharmacy because I have severe cough sore throat high temperature and I have tried several different remedies. It's been over a week I have been feeling so down and I am coughing up greenish flem not able to breathe properly at night. The pharmacist suggested that I see the GP as it may be an infection and the fact that I cannot swallow anything could be tonsillitis. I called the GP and waited 30 mins on the phone receptionist answered asked me lots of questions and then said a doctor will definitely call me later on in the day. 2 hours later I received a text message saying "we are requesting that you seek advise from a pharmacist". Absolutely ridiculous!
Please leave now
Please leave . I had blood pressure they gave me Remapil - I was coughing for months and falling a sleep-
I had type two diabetes but was not told I am i Entitled to free medication if the doctor fills in the form and the form is only available from the doctor But no one there care or tell you
As long they are making money from you ( as they get paid per patient) they don’t care .
I left and my new surgery I walk in make an appointment The doctor calls me back within five hours asking me what the problem is and book a day easy. Hall green health like a beggar- Ring 8 o’clock in the morning ring until you die and if he was that ill, should’ve done 999 anyway as we don’t care
Any way free advice-
My blood pressure tablets were changed. I told taken before I go to bed so then I get a good night sleep and the next day I’m not tired.
The doctor told me because I had diabetes that why are you paying for your medicines and the doctor filled in the form. That my friends is real service and care thank you your friend Mr Mohammed Hussain

I wrote a letter to my surgery…
I wrote a letter to my surgery explaining my mental health has worsened and needed an urgent appointment. The surgery called about 2 weeks later saying a tel appt was arranged. Someone called and told me I will get another call. I received a text 2 days later telling me I have an appt. at Shirley Road, Dec 11th. 10.50am. Due to my medications and not being able to sleep at night I got up late and was literally 5-8 mins late. There was no one else waiting in the surgery. Receptionist asked the Dr and he said it's too late. She told me next appt is Jan 8th. The initial letter I wrote was explaining that I feel suicidal. I called the surgery on the same day and asked why people are not taking this serious. I also mentioned case files where authorities have made basic errors - Below is a copy of a transcript from case history.

Vulnerable patients with mental health conditions are being badly let down by the NHS, causing them and their families needless suffering and distress, according to a Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman report published today.
The Ombudsman has also found that NHS mental healthcare staff can lack the capacity, skills and training they need to do their job effectively, and do not always have the support they need to learn from mistakes.
Following an analysis of over 200 mental health complaints upheld by the Ombudsman, the report highlights five common failings that are compromising patients’ safety and dignity:
Failure to diagnose and/or treat the patient: One investigation found that a woman was treated with anti-psychotic drugs for a psychotic episode but had a life-threatening reaction to them. Her physical symptoms were dismissed and tragically she died.
Inappropriate hospital discharge and aftercare of the patient: In another case, a young man who had a complex history of mental health problems died from a drug overdose after being discharged from the local community mental health service, without a care plan in place.
Poor risk assessment and safety practices: The report reveals how a young person suffering from bipolar disorder and on the autism spectrum was physically assaulted by another patient in a residential home, causing them immense fear and distress. A risk assessment, which could have easily prevented the assault, was not carried out.
Not treating patients with dignity and/or infringing human rights: Another investigation found that a woman suffering from a psychotic episode was not given sanitary products while she was menstruating so she was forced to use a plastic cup. This was deeply humiliating for her and did not respect her dignity and well-being.
Poor communication with the patient and/or their family or carers: The report tells how a woman who had a history of bipolar disorder had her new born baby taken from her unnecessarily and without explanation, causing her immense distress.
Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, Rob Behrens, said:

How many times have we heard "lessons must be learnt" and normally the enquiry costs millions of pounds simply to find someone acted negligently.
There was not one single person in the surgery. I was only 5-8 mins late due to my medical condition. The notes on my file should have shown the letter I sent to the GP few weeks ago and the GP should have known how serious this was. During Covid GPs' started telephone appts. There is no more Covid yet you continue to allow GPs to work "from home" basis. How on earth can you diagnose someone's mental health on the phone? Or any other condition without examining the patient? In the past when I have attended appts on time there have been many occasions where I have waited 45 mins to an hour to be seen. The GP who refused to see me when I was no more than 8 mins late is negligent. The MP Jess Phillips, is helping with me another situation and I shall be copying her in for this, also.
No win situation
As a registered disabled my experiential this health practice very bad severaltime. Due to my health symptoms i am very ill and there's no priority for the disables. went to the appointment after trying 4 days, to get appointment.
1). the time of the queue is to too long.
2). Putting me on the queue for call back no one rang 1st time. 2nd there were no space in the queue and automated voice ask me to call later.
3). When got the appointment it was with a head nurse kind off lady on both occasions instead of doctor. Being terminallly ill and bed bound i went to the surgery but my problem was not address. I was ask to come again next day to stay in queue for blood test, which I can't due to health issues. End up i am as disappointed as always from this surgery.

For the last 3 months I have been…
For the last 3 months I have been trying to get somebody from Hall green Health to assist with mine and my daughters patient access as it does not allow us to order our medications, today I called and was talked to like I was Incapable and didn’t know how to sign into the site (even though I was actually signed into it at the time) they couldn’t be bothered to help and it ended where I was emailed the account information again which was no help at all. With everything that is going on with the Coronavirus I don’t want to have to go into the surgery to order our medication. Do not waste your time trying to get help here as it really isn’t worth it
Amazing health centre
