Friendly staff

Friendly staff who explained everything happening with my hearing in a suscinct manner making sure I understood what was happening with my ears.

I dislike hard sell approach

I dislike hard sell approach. When I say no I do mean no. I stated more than once that I was happy with my hearing aids and that I had no intention of up grading. When informed that I would receive a following up call in a few days to see if I had changed my mind I replied not to bother I would not change my mind. A few days later I had the sales call anyway. Your clients are generally elderly and are potentially more susceptible to pressure selling. Your “individual “ sales technique requires review.

Food for thought

Good communication before hand with
Regular prompts by text.
Receptionist was charming and thoughtful, knowledgeable and engaging.
My ear appointment lasted 1 hour. It was thorough and the Audiologist explained each step of the way. I was impressed by both staff and the information explained to me.
The only concern was feeling some pressure to make a quick decision whether or not to proceed with ordering recommended range of hearing aids- partly because the 20% off finished at end of the week.
I asked and it was agreed to have 48 hours thinking time.

Hearing me, then helping my hearing

Having poor hearing requires my needing help from audiologists. Over the years I have found that while most are entirely competent in helping one's hearring, very few listen. The special quality I have found with the staff at Northampton is that they pay attention to you, not just the problem in hand. This creates a sense of engagement which enhances the process and improves the result. The technology is impressive, the staff even better.

Rude and unprofessional company

Today I went into the Hidden Hearing branch at Northampton to collect batteries, I requested the receptionist to hand me extra batteries as I do not come in every other day to take them, the last time being 5 months ago in October 2024 I guess, she just shrugged me off as if I am a beggar come to beg for free stuff. She started raising her voice a fact that I ignored out of an understanding that she deals with people who are hard of hearing like me, I tried to reason with her saying I do not come in every other day for the batteries as I work all week so if she could help me but she would not and continued speaking rudely to me all I asked was 4 boxes of them. When I bought the hearing aids, which are the most expensive product they have to offer in the catalogue, I was told I could take as many batteries as I wanted a rule which I never exploited and never hoarded batteries it made me feel shocked as this whole ordeal was made about just an extra pack of batteries, the receptionist made me feel embarrassed and was condescending about the fact that I asked for batteries which I was entitled to after buying their most expensive product. Absolutely horrible customer service and I regret buying from Hidden Hearing. Rude and unprofessional staff!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comprehensive review and we are sorry to see the reason for it and the impression that it has left you with of Hidden Hearing, this is certainly not the experience we pride ourselves on providing to all of our customers.

We can see that you have already spoken to our Customer Services team regarding this situation, and they advised that the free battery provision entitles customers to a supply of free batteries for 3 years. Each supply of free batteries is 4 packets per aid which is 24 batteries (48 batteries if you have 2 hearing aids). This is approximately a 6-month supply, depending on the usage level of the hearing aid, a battery should last between 3-7 days. Our patients are then able to reorder as each supply draws to an end. We appreciate that it can be difficult to get to the branch to collect batteries on a regular basis so we do also have the option that customers can contact our Customer Services Team on 0800 740 8796 or by emailing contact@hiddenhearing.co.uk to place an order for a supply of batteries to be sent in the post to your home address. We are conscious that providing too many batteries at once could contribute towards wastage and being aware of the impact this could have on the environment, we try our best to control this within our means.

If you require 4 boxes of batteries this is 40 packets which should last in the region of 2.5 to 3 years. If the batteries for your hearing aids are lasting less than 3 days, this may be something that needs to be looked into and we can offer a service appointment to investigate this for you.
