Another zero stars review regarding the complaint process at The Independent Newspaper

Formal complaint about Richard Best that I've already been to the regulatory about that I'm able to go to Ofcom regarding his sexist, misogynistic and chauvinistic behaviour I've got a legal right to a name. What does he not understand about the misleading interview especially as I've explained ? Also ageist is his email and the calls with the staff. Including trying to obtain my personal information incuding my contact number that's a breach of all data protection legislation since 1998 incuding UK GDPR Legislation 2018 and DUA 2025.

He then has sent me a very belittling email with information on how to put a complaint in however I already did that therefore his cut and paste email confirms that he can't do his job. That he is sexist, misogynistic and chauvinistic.

It doesn't state my title and surname that is my legal right to have

I've then called up the number of 020 7005 2000

The the first person didnt state Independent and his name however he put me through to a voicemail for Richard Best that he wasn't available after he sent his very belittling email.

The second call with the female also didn't state her name however she expected me to tell her my name even though she was very belittling with good afternoon when clearly it's not as a formal complaint so very belittling.

She started to talk over me wasn't listening so I had to be very firm that I'm talking she then put the phone down on me.

Also ageist is his email and the calls with the staff.

Expecting me to tell staff my personal information incuding a contact number that is a breach of all my Data Protection rights since 1998 incuding UK GDPR Legislation 2018 and DUA 2025.

As that information isn't mandatory to log and investigate my complaint about the misleading interview.

I commented via Facebook on an article I felt was inaccurate regarding events in Iran & was blocked. If you look at the comments section on most articles they’re left leaning & everyone has the same opinion. I was merely pointing out that there’s no need for a country as rich in oil & gas as Iran is to have 60% enriched uranium. Apparently this was too controversial a comment for this rag

The adds on your page make the articles un readable on an iPad. It is an utter disgrace. If you want to pollute the world with your dribble then at least make it readable online! Absolute insanity!

I have just read an article in today's Independent about Israeli snipers killing two brothers - however the information comes from an NGO called Euro-med monitor. This organisation's speciality is to spout blood libels,about Israel without any proof. Why does the Independent give credence to such an organisation whose sole aim is to discredit Israel and to the support genocidal ideologies of Hamas

I used to enjoy the print version of this newspaper. Now however it is just online clickbait full if bias and inaccuracies. Focusing on negativety and doom laden reporting. A dreadful online platform.

Don't even buy the paper or take there rubbish of jackanory in, as why they seem to lie most of the time is beyond believe when same topic of a certain article tells you completely different story altogether,
Example, EV cars sales are falling because no-one wants them, as they come out with it, sales are over taking the market, as others say, sales of EV cars are falling big.
No wonder its not fit fir purpose as only have to look at news of the world,
All they are , are like most to please the opposite thinking people will fall for the lies.

Online articles are an embarrassing mixture of lone journalistic opinions. This once respected newspaper has sunk new depths. They still persist is asking for subscriptions, but hope nobody is stupid enough to signup. Am aware the cancellation process is intentionally difficult

The Independent are sinking their membership and alienating their readers by their continuous usage of Viafoura as their moderation platform, which is mainly A.I based but has some staff who can't do their jobs.

They repeatedly take down comments which ARE on-topic, which ARE factual, which DON'T attack anyone or anything but evidently Viafoura are trigger happy in removing and silencing anyone who wishes to comment on the Independent's online media platform.

The vast majority of their comments on articles relating to the Russia/Ukraine war are Russian bots, who are disinformating the British public but all of these comments remain up and are never taken down.
Anyone would think that Viafoura works for the Kremlin - who knows.

What I do know is that if the Independent wants to turn their readers into paid subscribers then they'll need to get rid of Viafoura and stop alienating their readers.
Why should they be silenced when they're doing nothing wrong?

It's alienating their readers and it needs to be called out

Such a biased and click bait news outlet, no integrity in the slightest. People surely can’t take this business seriously.

Under UK GDPR, users must be able to refuse cookies as easily as they accept them.

I remember The Independent being full of great journalism across the board in the 1990s. Now, the online-only version seems to be run in the same way as all the struggling local news Reach sites - nonsense click-bait headlines leading you to badly-written garbage. What a shame.

The review on Rod Stewart at Glastonbury was so politically motivated and biased it shouldn't have been printed. The reviewer needs reviewing then sacking.

They utilize "click bait", e.g., headlining and showing an "herb" that reverses Alzheimer's; but upon reading the article, only promotes some program, with no mention of any herb whatsoever. Pathetic.

Narrative driven propaganda, following the rest of the main stream media with it's dishonesty and disingenuousness.

They lure you in with a £1 for six months offer and then DO NOT warn you then they take the renewal payment six months later. Then they take £99 from you.
