Extremely disappointing experience – unpaid wages, poor communication and unacceptable treatment

I worked for KMS Insulations Ltd during September 2026, from 7 September until 24 September. Unfortunately, my experience with this company has been extremely disappointing, particularly regarding payment for the work I completed and the way I have been treated when trying to resolve the matter.

I was offered the role and agreed an hourly rate of £13. I worked regular hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, at the company’s premises, carrying out the work expected of me.

When my employment ended on 24 September, I was initially informed in writing that my final payment would be made on 30 September 2026. I was then told that this payment would not be made until 30 October 2026. This was confirmed in writing by the administration team on two occasions, and the managing director also personally confirmed the hourly rate and payment date to me.

I submitted my invoice and provided the relevant information regarding my hours. Following a discussion about my clock-in records, the amount was agreed at £1,222. I was repeatedly given reassurance that this payment would be made on 30 October.

Unfortunately, that date arrived and I received absolutely nothing.

I have since made several attempts to contact the company to find out where my payment is. I have sent emails and messages, including directly contacting the managing director through WhatsApp. My messages were read, but I received no response. I have now discovered that the managing director has blocked me, leaving me unable to contact them directly about the money I am owed.

What has been particularly disappointing is the company’s response to my genuine Trustpilot review. Rather than addressing the outstanding payment, the managing director contacted me personally and questioned the authenticity of my review, suggesting that the Trustpilot account had been hijacked and that false accounts were being created.

To be absolutely clear, my review was genuine and based on my own personal experience. I have not created false accounts, and I have retained the written correspondence and evidence relating to everything I have described.

I also understand that another person who started working at the company around the same time has experienced very similar circumstances, including being let go shortly before the original payday and being told that payment would be delayed until 30 October. They too have not received the money they were promised.

I find it extremely disappointing that so much attention appears to have been directed towards challenging my review, while the actual issue of paying people for work they have completed remains unresolved.

I have kept copies of my invoice, clock-in records, emails, messages and written confirmations of the agreed hourly rate and payment date. I have tried repeatedly to resolve this matter professionally and have given the company opportunities to put things right.

I do not believe it is unreasonable to expect to be paid for work I have completed, particularly when the company has repeatedly confirmed in writing when payment would be made.

My experience has left me extremely disappointed. Being left unpaid, ignored when asking for an explanation and ultimately blocked by the managing director is not the professional treatment I expected.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering working with KMS Insulations Ltd to make sure all payment arrangements are clearly documented in writing and to keep copies of all correspondence and working-hour records.

I am still owed £1,222 for work I have completed, and I would like the company to take responsibility and resolve this matter.

The company is awful and completely messed up my loft they never come back out or haven't even answered the phone I already paid deposit as well do not book with them

Did plasterboarding to my dunster house ceiling and back brick wall. Good price,well carried out and went above what I expected

Fitters; Dan and Rick; Some reviews I have read are ridiculous. These guys are superb and carried out a very professional job on my 4 bed home. They were clean and tidy and removed all rubbish afterwards. I would have no hesitation in recommending TMS Insulations to anyone.

I worked here for several months and personally had concerns regarding communication, contracts, and pay clarity.

During my time there, I experienced ongoing confusion around employment status and payment arrangements, including being asked to invoice for wages despite not having clear contractor documentation in place.

I also did not receive the level of employment security or benefits I initially expected when joining the company.

This review is based entirely on my own experience as a former worker.

No words… other than I don’t recommend

I have asked on MULTIPLE occasions to be taken off of the call list, yet I still receive calls most days!!! Leave me alone!!!

This company does not currently hold a waste removal license, so you as the homeowner are liable for any fines for their waste removal.

Very happy with the loft boarding, the team worked hard until early evening, great customer service as well, l would recommend KMS insulation and use them again, plus their quotes are very competitive

The guys arrived promptly, were polite, introduced themselves and explained what they were going to do. They didn't have any shoe protectors so they went and bought some. When they came back they got straight to work. Didn't stop until they finished the job. Through out the whole time they were professional, courteous and studious. I can't comment on the job itself yet because I can't see up in the loft - otherwise this would be a 5 star. As soon as they send me the pictures or I get someone to go up and have look will be back on here to update this review.

Regardless of others experience of this company I have nothing but positive praise for them and would recommend the three guys: Mikey; James and Ihor to work in my home at any time. Even Kirsty - over the phone was knowledgeable and able to answer any and all questions. Well done all.

3 men michal and his team came worled all week on my loft and vleaned up after themself i had foil insulation and foam removal very happy would recommend

Very good all round. Install very quick and efficient, friendly people to do business with, i highly recommend this company.

I had Ollie install foil insulation in my loft, I am very pleased with the work.

I had Ollie and the lads fit foil and the job was done great from start to finish.

The experience from george how came and give me a quote and looked at my loft explaining all the stuff that needed doing and the quote was fair
